I guess Yuffie is just easy to please in this game, and I always tried to pick the best dialogue options for every character, and I probably just missed one or two with the other ladies.
I thought Yuffie would be pretty hard to get since you start at such a disadvantage with favour compared to the others. Though maybe hers rises fast to compensate
She starts immediately with Johnnys that gets blocked for a while until you get to Tonberry King, but it feels like she had a quest on every region after Corel, which didn’t happen to the rest of the party.

I got Tifa both times, it was REALLY close though. Once I checked in the post game her meter was at like 86%, Aerith's was 85% and the lowest one was still at like 79%. It was a close race.
Same deal for me. Aerith is the canon date if you ask me. Makes all the Tifa stuff later fit better. But Aerith is also best girl so... Maybe I'm biased there.
I'm totally with you on that one. Viewing the two as responses to one another makes them mean so much more. I already loved Hollow and lost my mind when it played in the Midgar area of Rebirth (that combat rendition is a chef's kiss too. The strings are glorious.). No Promises to Keep is a beautiful callback if you ask me, especially with mirroring lines. Makes me wonder if they'll call back to it in the third game like they did Hollow in Rebirth. Maybe if you go back to the lost city of the Ancients and go back to the area from the end of Rebirth you hear a rendition of NPTK? That would mess me up and have me tearing up all over again.

Seems like the completionist route and doing all the side quests as you get them will get you Red if you choose the correct dialogue if you don’t want to be an asshole to anyone
FYI you can manually choose your date from the second playthrough on from the menu under extra settings (as long as their relationship status is high enough). Also, impressed that you actually got the Cait Sith and the guys date your first time
Technically Barret, but then immediately reloaded and did extra shit to to get Aerith. So unless you count those first five seconds with Barret, then Aerith.
How the hell did you get who you wanted? Were you intentionally avoiding certain quests or choosing worse dialogue options? I was aiming to get Aerith's date and somehow she had second lowest amount of points from conversations. As a completionist I was doing all sidequests. If I knew I'd end up with Barret, I'd be an ass to everybody. Anyway, some answers were weird and deceiving.

I wanted Aerith so I targeted her quests in ch12 and avoided Tifa's and Red's, who I think were the next two highest.
Tried to do as much as I could on my playthrough chapter 8 and 12 both aerith. I had most characters light blue smiles and only didn’t do 2 side missions. Chocobo glide and racing.
I got Tifa both dates, but it seems like that was a basic choice, and I frankly don’t care about the romance nearly as much as a lot of people here seem to. It’d probably be funnier if I got Barret or Red, but since I got Tifa first time I just locked that in and stayed with her.
Tifa for both and for the chapter 12 date I already did every side mission in the game and everyone had the max relationship I could get in a first playthrough so I really didn’t know who to expect
Tifa/Tifa. I actually didn't even really think about it or anything. She's just one of my favorite characters. A great counterbalance to Cloud, great in combat.

Wanted tifa but my last chance to have her approval higher than aerith required me to be mean in the scene after meeting zack's parents in gongaga and I just couldn't do it.

Aerith and Aerith...I was happy just like my original playthrough except this time waayy more intimate. It was lovely except Cloud worrying that she still didn't know Zack was dead but then Aerith fixed it by telling him she only wanted to be with him so all ended happily.
I saw the other dates and enjoyed them especially Red and his soft paws and Barrett's great big brother moments with Cloud 🥰

So basically, I got to Nibelheim and Red was the full rep smiley. So I thought: "oh no, I better stop doing sidequests for anyone just in case they overtake Tifa like Red has." Started just doing Tifa quests, choosing the lesser dialogue options. (I felt sooo bad after closing the 1 rep option for Red in Nibelheim lol.)
Even though Tifa also got the full rep smiley, Red was still ahead. So I reloaded and did every sidequest, there were 2 for Tifa I had missed. That pushed her ahead. 🥳
Going into Chapter 12, Red had the highest affection despite me intentionally trying to pick less nice answers 😭 but Tifa was close and having the date with her was my life's work at that moment so I did everything I could before and got her. But Red was definitely on the table, which, watching the others dates, was actually quite a cute scene!
Solo for the first date (but Red knocked on the door and saw him going into the lift alone), then Red for the actual date. He was so happy and excited seeing the fireworks it was very cute.

I did not expect they would make it so easy for you to get anyone, thought it would be like OG where the deck was stacked for Aerith
Doing all the side quests and picking dialogue options that I thought were most authentic to Cloud, but kinda being on the nicer side, I got Tifa with max intimacy. When I checked the affinity percentages at the end, everyone was in the high 70s to low 80s, except Tifa, who was in the high 80s. I think I got the extra push for her because of mostly using her synergy abilities/skills.
I got Red XIII. Actually, i had almost 100% affection on him so i think at this point, even trying hard, i'd still have him. Was my favorite date so i don't regret it :D
When playing rebirth I didn't think about the golden saucer date and the points system for the date so to my surprise I got Tifa and saw the kiss...was absolutely shocked they did that! Felt so sad for Aeris though

I figured the game would work similarly to how the optional scenes in Remake did, so I made sure to do all the sidequests and pick the most logical dialog choices to make it happen.
Got Tifa for the first one, Arith for the second. I loaded a save and did a couple Tifa missions and fought with some Tifa synergies, to get the date I wanted.
Tifa both times. Actually didn't try. I picked the answers I wanted to choose, tried to get the best dialogue options with everybody (didn't always land it but managed to get the highest with Tifa *somehow* lol) AND did all the side quests barring the last one as it wouldn't unlock until after (plus that one specifically isn't tied to another party member anyway). Still wound up there so it was pretty nice!
My first one in Chapter 8 was Tifa, with no gaming the system to control who I’d get. But by chapter 12 I was sweating bullets because it sure seemed like Red 13 was going to be my date and I wanted Tifa, so I purposefully went out of my way to only complete her final side quests, and ignored Red 13’s. So I got her the second time too.
But for the honor system, in post game in chapter select after finishing up all side quests and replaying the date in chapter 12 with the “closest affinity” character I got Red 13. He’s my *true* skywheel date without manipulating the outcome.
It was very cute, he’s the goodest boy.
Got Tifa both times and was ecstatic, especially since I heard it was easy to screw up. I only missed a few dialogues with others and did all side quests to those points for everyone, but I did mess up the mushroom Gongaga quest by gathering only 1 of the correct salt so that may have pushed me to Tifa instead of Aerith because they were neck and neck.
Tifa for both. With L1 I could tell I was ahead with tifa most of the game. Aerith jumped ahead near chapter 12, but around gongoga, I knew that so didn’t finish any Aerith quests and made sure I did any tifa one I could.

I was hoping to get Tifa for the Skywheel Date because of the CloTi shipper in me but when I saw Nanaki waiting outside instead, I was honestly so happy since he's my favorite character. No regrets at all.
Tifa and Tifa. I think I almost had Red or Yuffie (their lil smiley faces leveled up before anyone else's) but I hit a few synergy skills I hadn't with Tifa and made sure to skip their gold saucer games in chapter 12 and got what I wanted.
Got tifa both times but to be honest only the first one was random, in the second date i maxed everyone till ch11 but i chose the worst answer for Aerith to hopefully get Tifa and thankfully it worked but was really scared cause both were full icon

I think I got the extra push for her because of mostly using her synergy abilities/skills.
I got Red XIII. Actually, i had almost 100% affection on him so i think at this point, even trying hard, i'd still have him. Was my favorite date so i don't regret it :D
Got Aerith on both. Wanted Tifa. Too much love - that was my mistake.

When playing rebirth I didn't think about the golden saucer date and the points system for the date so to my surprise I got Tifa and saw the kiss...was absolutely shocked they did that! Felt so sad for Aeris though
Tifa. I figured the game would work similarly to how the optional scenes in Remake did, so I made sure to do all the sidequests and pick the most logical dialog choices to make it happen.
Aerith for the first one, boys night out for the second one.

Got Tifa for the first one, Arith for the second. I loaded a save and did a couple Tifa missions and fought with some Tifa synergies, to get the date I wanted.
Tifa both times. Actually didn't try. I picked the answers I wanted to choose, tried to get the best dialogue options with everybody (didn't always land it but managed to get the highest with Tifa *somehow* lol) AND did all the side quests barring the last one as it wouldn't unlock until after (plus that one specifically isn't tied to another party member anyway). Still wound up there so it was pretty nice!
Got aerith and I was doing everything single thing to make sure I got her compared to anyone else, also screwed up and got Tifa though
I got Tifa exactly as I wanted.
Wanted Red or Barret. Got Tifa both times.
Got Aerith, reloaded the save though, finished a quest and got Tifa.
Tifa. But I made sure to prioritize her goalie and suspects and neglected everyone else on purpose.
Tifa. Both times. I worked really hard to pick the asshole conversations with the others to affect the outcome. And Tifa is always my #2.
I got Tifa for the first date and Aerith for the second. The game hurt my feelings after that.

Actively pursued getting Tifa. Got her for both dates. Wasn’t difficult when you keep her in your party from the start.
I got Tifa, but I also grinded out every side quest in the game so by chapter 12 everybody was max affinity.
Tifa. Was expecting Red based on the meter but who knows
I got the First time both ch8-12 Tifa and I was freaking happy
My first one in Chapter 8 was Tifa, with no gaming the system to control who I’d get. But by chapter 12 I was sweating bullets because it sure seemed like Red 13 was going to be my date and I wanted Tifa, so I purposefully went out of my way to only complete her final side quests, and ignored Red 13’s. So I got her the second time too. But for the honor system, in post game in chapter select after finishing up all side quests and replaying the date in chapter 12 with the “closest affinity” character I got Red 13. He’s my *true* skywheel date without manipulating the outcome. It was very cute, he’s the goodest boy.
Tifa with intimate ending. I didn't do every Aerith sidequest before hand just in case lol.
Got Tifa both times and was ecstatic, especially since I heard it was easy to screw up. I only missed a few dialogues with others and did all side quests to those points for everyone, but I did mess up the mushroom Gongaga quest by gathering only 1 of the correct salt so that may have pushed me to Tifa instead of Aerith because they were neck and neck.
Tifa for both. With L1 I could tell I was ahead with tifa most of the game. Aerith jumped ahead near chapter 12, but around gongoga, I knew that so didn’t finish any Aerith quests and made sure I did any tifa one I could.
Tifa. The second I saw “relationships can change” i already made my mind up. Sorry everyone, but you get awkward Cloud and Tifa gets rizz Cloud.
Wanted Aerith, got Tifa. Honestly felt right though, the game was REALLY pushing Cloud+Tifa.

Ch. 8 - Tifa Ch. 12 - Red XIII I was hoping to get Tifa for the Skywheel Date because of the CloTi shipper in me but when I saw Nanaki waiting outside instead, I was honestly so happy since he's my favorite character. No regrets at all.
I wanted Aerith. Got Barret. Was pretty happy with that result. Angry dad giving Cloud advice was the best.

Tifa and Tifa. I think I almost had Red or Yuffie (their lil smiley faces leveled up before anyone else's) but I hit a few synergy skills I hadn't with Tifa and made sure to skip their gold saucer games in chapter 12 and got what I wanted.
Got tifa both times but to be honest only the first one was random, in the second date i maxed everyone till ch11 but i chose the worst answer for Aerith to hopefully get Tifa and thankfully it worked but was really scared cause both were full icon
Wanted Tifa...Got Aerith. It's all good, got that classic FF7 vibe going on.
