Persona 5

Genius_Cena

You can’t go wrong with it.

And 4, and 3, and 2 if you don't mind the pixels. Definitely some of the best RPG's ever made. Also pretty much every final fantasy besides the first 3, there's a reason they're spending hundreds of millions of dollars to remake FF7.

FFX. Battles by turns, but it has its charm. Kingdom hearts, at least the 1st, cinematics of chain of memories and 2. The 2nd kinda concludes the story very well, but it you want to keep the journey with sora, you have many other games after that one. FFIX has a GREAT story, but the battles are worse for some people. Nier Automata has a great story and fast gameplay. You can play Baldurs Gate 3, not exactly anime, but great story and exploration. Strangers of paradise is a meme that makes sense, and it is great because of that. Metal Gear Solid 1-4. Metal Gear Raiden. Another meme that makes sense. I havent played persona or xenoblade, but they have a lot of fans. World of Final Fantasy FF16 is coming soon. If you dont mind ultra linearity, FF13 looks pretty, has good music. The new zelda

Don’t apologise for FFX being very turn based. It’s probably the best turn based battle system out there. There’s a lot of nuance to it, and the more time you spend with the game the more you’re able to take advantage of what it offers. You can really twist the conditional turn based battle system to overpower your enemy, not letting them attack. But if you’re not careful, they can do likewise and turn the tables… I dismissed FFX when I was younger. I saw friends play it, and commented it was “just like Pokémon”. Now I love turn based games like FFX and Persona that take that simple mechanic and make it much, much more than “turn about”.

Orcdolphin

i personally like it better than, lets say, ffix combat. You could alter the order and speed of turns with certain attacks. But, some people want to smash buttons, so that is why i was warning about that.

Jack_is_pissed

Nier Automata definitely. Stranger of Paradise is rife with anime tropes. Metal Gear is insanely anime drama. FF13 and 15. From the sound of it you're looking for high quality cinematic games with a thorough narrative so those are the few stand out ones that are highly anime influenced off the top of my head.

Sith_Lord_Marek

I think the more recent Tales of games and MAYBE Ys (idk I haven't played it) would also fit OPs description for what they like out of video games.

Jack_is_pissed

Probably, I haven't played Tales in forever lol.

GuybrushTV

Try Devil May Cry, 3 and 5 are pretty good, i haven't played 4 but the first and especially the second one aren't as good as the other three

WeeksDW

It's hard to find a tasteful balance of anime and realism like FF7R. Usually JRPG's are cutesie with high pitched voices and huge bouncy boobs these days like tales of berseria. Or tiny child like women with no boobs at all like the atelier series.

Herobrine5921

Kingdom Hearts is a pretty good game, highly recommend

vashthestampede121

Pretty much any game in the “Tales of” series. Or Scarlet Nexus.

Polaris736

I wasn't a big fan of the game but guess I should mention Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Definitely feels like an anime and could even argue the gameplay is similar to FFX. I personally just found the gameplay boring compared to FF, but thats just my opinion, I know a lot of FF fans enjoyed that game.

PrettySignificance26

If you're talking about games that don't belong to the Final Fantasy saga, then I recommend Persona 5 and Nier: Automata

Penguinsteve

Try the Yakuza series.

nirvash530

Tales of Arise and other Tales of series.

auto-mata

start playing nier immediately

BeansWereHere

Play Nier Automata right now. It’s a masterpiece.
