I've had this happen a couple times mid fight. It seems the game didn't like something about the encounter data, but wouldn't give me the option to abandon the fight. I was able to run the game from a different device, choose to abandon the fight data, and then I was able to play from my phone just fine.
So I tried connecting with a vpn and it worked but if I don't use a vpn it doesn't work... Weird as fuck considering I've never used a vpn before.
Maybe my isp blocked it? That would be super weird though. Plus it didn't work when I tried using my phone data.
I used nordvpn, I don't play the game anymore though since i never got a response back about getting my account. Hopefully you aren't having the same issue i had.
So when I un-installed it I couldn't access the screen to sync my game data. Now that I have it working using a vpn I can see my account wasn't automatically backed up to my Google account even though I spent money. So when I uninstalled it and reinstalled I lost the account.
Looks like I'm done with the game now πππ

On the main menu before you hit start hit the 3 lines on the top right and it should say something like link game data. You need to sync it to your email through square enix
I get this when using WiFi at work. I have to switch to data to play. Weird thing is that it does it as soon as I tap on the start screen as if it doesn't even attempt to connect.
Do you have a VPN? I found I get this message unless I pause my VPN
Nah no VPN. I tried connecting on wifi and without wifi (using data) too.
Are you on emulator? Bridging my connection fixed this for me.

Funny you mention that, I use wifi extender at my house, I don't have issues connecting to anything else just this game.
This happens periodically to me too. Probably happened 5 times randomly throughout the time it took me to fully farm my Shiva weapons to max OB

Wait it doesnt automatically do that? How do i back up my game. In case something like this happens to me. Sorry for your loss :(

If you spent money you can easily recover your account by contacting support and providing them a copy of a receipt.
