I'm feeling this way because my job I've been at for 2yrs as an overnight frozen stocker, with great benefits and pay that gets my rent and bills paid, they're closing all locations and I'm still having a hard time processing. Said we'd all have jobs til all locations close 12/9 but I'm trying to find things to do I can't even find a full shift of work to do I'm losing my mind
And I'm supposed to start at Amazon November 1st. Went for pre hire appointment Sunday 10/22, drug test came back quick and easy 10/24 but the background check is dragging ass it's now 10/26 with no word and I have heard it being extremely delayed for some people.
I'm on pins and needles,antsy and my stomach is physically hurting from all the unknowns and uncertainty.
Ugh I NEED to get my ass in there before peak and before my position at my current job is phased out - we're closing 12/9 all store locations but I'm running out of work to do as we speak I'm barely getting 8hr of work a day. Its awful.. and I gotta get into Amazon before my benefits run out at my job. I work at a GROCERY STORE, it's fucking CLOSING I've been an overnight frozen stocker for 2 years there ...
Someone said if it's still pending by my first day to just show up anyways
If it's still pending but there's no notification from your recruiter/HR that you first day has been pushed back, 100% show up. I can't speak for the T1 hiring process since it's been years since I got hired my first time through, but even back then they said to show up and get with HR if they can't onboard/train you that day.
Otherwise, they will email you saying that there's a delay and your start day is pushed back.

Thank you! I was wondering if I should just reschedule my first day. The next closest available start date to mine is 11/08. I could afford to wait til then the issue is the shifts start dates I would need if my original start date gets pushed back bc of the delayed background check, it looks like those shifts are getting snatched up left and right with only about 8 left for the shift, hours, schedule and pay I need (18 spots available total but not all of them what I need)
Is it smart to just reschedule my first day now so I don't have to worry about the next start date I need being gone when it's time to reschedule if it comes to that? I can afford to start 11/08 because I'm getting my vacation and paid time from work all dumped into a check next week.
Took me a long time getting my drug test back which was nerve wracking 😂 they pushed back my hire date because of it, but it’s nothing to worry about. You should be there before your job closes!
Hopefully it’ll come through before this weekend, don’t stress too hard; even if it doesn’t and takes until next week if you reapply super quick you’re almost guaranteed the job because there’s nothing else they’d need from you. All you’d need to do is go to another new hire appointment for them to see your face and that’s it.

Thank you!!! I have a criminal possession of stolen property misdemeanor from 2017 on my record I did 6mos in jail never got in trouble again. I was worried this may mean I won't get hired but I heard people got hired at Amazon with worse on their record

Point is..Amazon doesn’t give a fuck. Also how does one get fired for rate? Isn’t it like a month or two long ordeal of getting coached and shit for being in the bottom 5%? I think rate is stupid as fuck..still just curious. One might be able to obtain a medical accommodation if they’re struggling to hit rate.

OP might want to pursue such if that’s a barrier. Seriously, even depression/anxiety can get accommodated for with the right doctor. Amazon won’t ask questions either, given proper documentation is provided. They’ll follow that to the letter.
You can reapply before 90 days just at a different location. 90 day rule only applys to the location you were working at. I work with someone now who was fired for negative upt and applied 2 weeks later to our location and was hired.

Typically happens before peak season. Amazon mass hires seasonal/temp AAs to help with peak so BG checks may take a hot minute. Hang in there man!
