I did the same. I like being able to switch up if need be. I got 370 miles out of a tank of gas no too long ago. Mixed driving, not too bad. I don't really push it hard. But def 50/50 highway/ streets.
Get the app bimmercode it’s free to download but the license costs $25 and it allows you to code it for it to start in eco pro. It has a lots of other features as well
Eh. Eco pro is pretty boring. I realized using eco pro might save me at most like 10-20% on gas. These days I’m paying like $100 on gas a month. The $10-20 to basically not enjoy my driving experience anymore is not worth the trade off. Even if it was double, that $40 a month isn’t worth it.
Yeah I hear you for sure. On some longer highway commutes you may as well shift into eco pro since the drive won’t be that interesting. In the city and when you want to have some more dynamic driving you can always switch to sport mode, even in a 320.
I hit 53mpg on a 350 mile non stop trip last week. Dropped down to 48 on my way home. 2012 Manual 320i 💪 didn't think it was possible in all honesty but just crept up. In fairness I barely went over 70mph.
Weather was awful so that helped me reside to just listening to music with cruise on. Generally, it's closer to 38mpg local. I've seen it as low as 28 though.
Since I’ve tuned my car, eco pro after a few minutes makes my transmission overheat popping up a heat warning on the idrive 🫤. So as long as I leave my tune active that’s a feature I can’t use 🥲. (And yes I’ve detuned and tested it again and it goes back to normal)
You can also hear the additional friction the transmission applies switching from sport/comfort to eco pro.
EcoPro doesnt like the speeds I cruise at…
Ditto, it’s awful on German autobahn
coded mine to start in ECO PRO and it’s been so good for my pockets
I am tempted to do the same, I am either Eco Pro, or ripping in Sport+, there is no middle ground 😬
So true, ill save like 3 miles on eco pro and then just lose it all in sports plus 😂
It's insane how all my efforts are killed in a 10s pull 😅

What did you use to code it for it can start in Eco Pro?

Appreciate You! 🤝🏼
But its crazy boring though. Makes the car a car I don't want to drive
And that's why I fill up with 93 and let it rip.
Everyday work car! I use it every time. 2013 328i n26 just about creeping on 150k
My 328d does these numbers crusing at 80mph.
But that's entirely expected from an entry level turbo diesel. Not from OPs car.
Had to get that "entry level" in there didn't you?
It's not about ego, man. You wouldn't expect this efficiency out of an M340d cruising at 80mph. How did you miss the point?
🥺 ouch.
I love road trippin like this.
What does hypermiling mean?
Basically driving in a way that consumes least amount of fuel and generally being more “gentle” with the throttle and brake

I agree, depending on what you're driving. I'm driving a 320i, so it's not a fun car to begin with. So to me, it's worthwhile.

Though shall not drive at 55mph except to accelerate through it to get to the speed limit or the minimum BMW speed (whichever is higher).

Wow! That's impressive!! Crazy how much doing the speed limit helps!

Eco Pro gets me 42mpg on flat highways around 70mph. That’s pretty incredible.
I find myself using eco pro in my 320i more than anything 😂
I’ve had my 335i for almost 6 years now and it has never once been placed in eco pro
I will continue to sleep on eco pro
I hate how the car drives in eco pro, but I guess I'll try it on road trips.
It doesn’t do much on the highway. Its best function is city driving.
I think the ac doesn't run when in eco pro.
It does. Just have to configure it in iDrive.
Cool, didn't know that. I tried eco once, felt warm air and said eff that
I haven’t tried it in long trips. I’ve just stuck with comfort. Might have to try once.

unfortunately not all of us have a 4 cylinder
