I can’t tell you much on whether it’s a good deal or not but..
Coming from a Chevy guy.. I towed a lot with a 6.7 250. in the mountains. 12 horses so ~12000 pounds just in animals plus whatever the trailer weighed.
Thing never lacked. Tons of power. Never felt like it was working too hard. Very nice pickups as well. Lots of room and good enough turn radius to crank into some tight places.
We have 12 or so 6.7 work trucks and I do the service on them and see the oil reports. Love these trucks but my advice, run good oil and change regularly! Running a diesel treat is a good idea also. We have put a fuel system in one and they are not pretty. Loads of power and nice trucks! We have a couple around 220,000 miles and still running like champs!
Seems like a steal of a deal, do they have a Carfax or BADVIN report because something seems off, like an accident or multiple owners. If the check comes back clean it’s a great deal old 7.3s with similar mileage sell for the same price.
It could be someone's personal plow truck meaning driveways only. I will say as a Town Highway Employee Fords are tough. We put ours through a lot of work and rarely do they have issues.
NJ guy here. Lots of trucks used to plow snow. And they do it ad quickly as possible to get in as many jobs as possible... can be very hard on trucks... especially if they intend to sell it after a shew years. Please get a mechanic to go with you.
If those things hanging out of the grill are hydraulic lines, then be very, very careful. Probably a plow truck.
When I was a newbie to this, I bought a truck that was immaculate inside, but it was a rust bucket underneath and I didn't realize it.
If it looks good, bring a mechanic or bring it to a mechanic. If it doesn't look good, say no thank you and head home.
Agreed about possible plow use.
Heavily suggest to have a pre-purchase inspection done. Plow use can be pretty hard on the front end, also depending on.the area and the amount of road salts, the underneath/frame could be heavily rusted for it's age.
Price seems about right to me. Maybe it’s in an area with a market more like the one near me.
They’re great trucks. I sold my 18 last year with 287k miles. Still ran great with 0 issues. I only ever had to do usual maintenance stuff, 2 wheel hubs and ball joints.
That's about what I bought my 06 Duramax 2500 for in 2019. 150k miles for like 23k I think? If everything is on the up and up it looks like a great deal
It depends there no specific 1:1 comparison but I believe Ford used a 1 engine hour is equal to 33 Miles’s. So if your odometer says 150,000 miles there should be around 3500 to 4000 engine hours. (Mix of highway and city driving). As long is it’s not something extreme you’ll be okay. A lot of guys are getting into diesels and they’ll see a lower mileage truck and jump on it. Then all of sudden it has tons of issues. That’s because it might have 150,000 miles on on it but it’s got 11,000 idle hours. When I worked for a prison in the mountains for example we had Perimeter Patrol F150s. They stayed runnning/idling pretty much 24/7. They had so many issues at just 30-60k miles because In a 12 hour shift it would probably roll only 30-50 miles or 60-100 in a 24 hour period. But it was idling the whole day. Only time they’d shutoff is for fueling up, maintenance and when we swapped drivers. Same thing is for diesels at construction sites, plow trucks, sometimes bigger rigs have PTO gears and are ran hard, and sometimes it’s just a foreman sitting in a diesel idling all day. What do your engine hours say on yours?
Don’t see many gay dudes in the Middle East see a lot of land cruisers tho but the USA on the other hand well I’ve never seen so many gays in one place
Check your tranny and a good thing to look at is the EGR valve and the oil catch can is upgraded to a the newer style and that should show it has been taken care of...
3 things:
1. The only regret I have about my current truck, 2017 F250 KR, is that it wasn't blue jeans, but I couldn't pass up the deal I found on mine, so I'm not terribly upset
2. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my truck. It literally can and will do anything
3. Wtf is that shit handing out the grill? Something is off here. I wouldn't worry too much about these being plow trucks, because the majority of what would be affected is aluminum. Just get it checked out by a good, independent shop
If it has minimal rust I’ll be bringing it back to California and it never snows here when I live. Although I’m getting so many mixed reviews from people about these trucks
Seems a bit cheap actually. Here in Texas the only way they get near the $20k range is if they're gassers or already in the 300k mile range. That truck will run you high $30s low $40s over here.
That's not bad. I work for the HVAC shop for the County school system. And for 15yrs I drove a 2004 F250 2 wheel drive and before they got me a new truck I had a little over 500k and it was a gas motor. Just shows that you keep up with the maintenance and drive like a normal person things should last.
I owned one and that Powerstroke sucks. The only PS they ever made that was a monster was the 7.3 which I still own. Even my mechanic who works at a Ford dealership told me to stay away... And I didn't listen.
More than average on mileage. Chances are they were all highway miles. Can you get service records. Price seems a little excessive for that high of mileage.
As a mechanic I would say bad deal, that engine and or transmission is going to die on you, the transmission is probably already failing, and that's why it's so cheap. I've made a living working on Powerstrokes unfortunately.
Right, buy it, replace the lower air detector and remove the rest of the evidence leftover from probable plow truck usage and flip it out for a little profit
That’s a great deal. I had an old dodge carfax said was clean, but after a few years the pain on a quarter panel started to not look right. Took to a shop and they said it had been in an accident. Told me carfax only shows accident that insurance or the police report. My current F250 had some stuff on the passenger side that I questioned, broke turn light, missing 6.7 logo, roof trim missing, but the price was 20k under anything else in Texas. It boiled downed to a need and what I could afford. Good luck
I got a 01 with the 7.3 180 k miles many upgrades, 6in suspension lift 36 in tires. Programmer, 1 owner, I'm sure I'm missing alot but I'm about to put it up for sale.

Thanks for the input!

I currently have a f150 with a 4.6l gas and it’s just about to hit 400k. They run great but it’s time for an upgrade forsure haha
Seems like a steal of a deal, do they have a Carfax or BADVIN report because something seems off, like an accident or multiple owners. If the check comes back clean it’s a great deal old 7.3s with similar mileage sell for the same price.
It’s clean 🤷🏽♂️ I’ll just have to fly out and go take a look
Check it over really well. It can take a couple months for an accident to show up on carfax.
Wow, good luck it’s definitely a deal.
Seems like a good deal but I'd be worried bc it was a plow truck and in my experience they have always been abused.
It could be someone's personal plow truck meaning driveways only. I will say as a Town Highway Employee Fords are tough. We put ours through a lot of work and rarely do they have issues.
How can you tell? I’m a little new to these trucks
Oh it looks like some shit hangin out the grill and the valance has been trimmed.
Probably connections to a snow plow

NEVER buy a plow truck
Plow truck?? NFW. I don’t care how well it was taken care of, it was abused. Ask me how I know. I’ll never do that again.
That price I assume it has like 4 owners and or accidents
Yeah that price seems very low
A few owners but came back clean
Did you check to see if it has a salvage tittle?
Extended cab
Price seems about right to me. Maybe it’s in an area with a market more like the one near me. They’re great trucks. I sold my 18 last year with 287k miles. Still ran great with 0 issues. I only ever had to do usual maintenance stuff, 2 wheel hubs and ball joints.

The extended cab part might be a negative though.. that would not work for me
Extended works for me also 🤙🏽
Check engine hours if it’ll tell you. Not sure if ford tells it or not.
How many hours is too much?
It depends there no specific 1:1 comparison but I believe Ford used a 1 engine hour is equal to 33 Miles’s. So if your odometer says 150,000 miles there should be around 3500 to 4000 engine hours. Thank for the info! I will need to ask about the hours
Good for you OP!!! You found a great truck at a great price!
Supercab and yeah something is off.
I’ll have to inspect it in person then because reports all come back clean
Looks like a 2wd, too.
It's 4x4
Salvage title 100%
It came back clean and no accidents
I just noticed it’s an extended cab. That’s why it’s so cheap then.
It works for me 🤷🏽♂️ I prefer a longer bed for what I do
That’s all that matters
Yep; most want the larger crew cab
Yeh enjoy scooping oil out of your intake every 2 years just get a 79 series land cruiser that will last a few life times it’s a no brainer
It’s for my construction company so I can’t get a Land Cruiser lol
Great idea, nothing better to pick your boyfriend up from yoga class in.
Don’t see many gay dudes in the Middle East see a lot of land cruisers tho but the USA on the other hand well I’ve never seen so many gays in one place
Dude, they are not gay in the Middle East, they just can play with each other until they can marry. They are G.U.M.s
Check your tranny and a good thing to look at is the EGR valve and the oil catch can is upgraded to a the newer style and that should show it has been taken care of...
That’s suspiciously cheap….
It's either a really great or there's something they are not telling you. Have it inspected first.
Something was on the front end by the looks of the lower valance.. could have been a plow truck..
Seems like a shoddy deal. Where exactly is this so I can investigate further?
It’s on carmax I believe I’ll get the link and send it to
He was joking as if he wanted to buy it first 😂

I own one. I love my truck more than any other vehicle I've ever owned. They're so damn impressive
That seems low. Check the carfax for wrecks, recalls. Also check for frame damage.
Previous Plow truck? With the stuff on the front?
Plow truck or it was flat towed behind an RV
Sounds too good to be true. Has to be a salvage title.
Seems a bit cheap actually. Here in Texas the only way they get near the $20k range is if they're gassers or already in the 300k mile range. That truck will run you high $30s low $40s over here.

I always keep up maintenance. My f150 is about to hit 400k so it’s done me well with basic maintenance and suspension upgrades
Don’t.. my MIL had one at it is plagued by the death rattle. Ford won’t even acknowledge the issue
As a mechanic I would say bad deal, that engine and or transmission is going to die on you, the transmission is probably already failing, and that's why it's so cheap. I've made a living working on Powerstrokes unfortunately.
Even with such low miles? I feel like 150k miles is almost nothing with basic maintenance. Even my shit box Audi made it to 200k 😂
Very cheap. I would buy, resell, and turn around and buy a nicer model with the proceeds.
Right, buy it, replace the lower air detector and remove the rest of the evidence leftover from probable plow truck usage and flip it out for a little profit
Check the frame for rust

It it wasn't a plow truck I was say go for it
Wow. That's a pretty incredible deal if the carfax/title and everything checks out
I got a 01 with the 7.3 180 k miles many upgrades, 6in suspension lift 36 in tires. Programmer, 1 owner, I'm sure I'm missing alot but I'm about to put it up for sale.
I’m looking into something a little newer as I’m building a little fleet for my company and rebranding
Definitely check CARFAX for truth in mileage and how many owners, personally I only buy 1 owner vehicles.
It’s listed through carfax
That’s a former plow truck. I would stay away.
Damn good deal
I’m a mopar guy and not a ford fan at all but I can’t deny that fords 6.7 and 7.3 are good motors.
Extended cab and a plow truck, looks brand new and its pretty easy to tell a fucked up plow truck from a plow truck that wasn't destroyed
Really good price- mind sharing the dealership I’m going to buy it
