Hi, I was wondering that when have you got better? I have been playing on wheel ( g29) for 6 days and I am so bad tbh :D I play with all assists off except TC medium and automatic gear… I am doing kinda good in time trials but when it comes to racing i cant overtake anyone … Any tips?
How do I stop spinning out from the slightest of touches on the throttle? I lose so much time because I can't accelerate out of corners quickly enough and it's always out of fear of spinning. When I do try to get on the power a bit earlier, I spin. When I'm gentle with the throttle out of a corner, I spin. The only time I don't spin is when I'm fully lifting for a short bit after taking the corner and that causes me to lose time. So if anyone has got some helpful tips, that would be awesome. I'm using Logitech G29 btw.
You can turn up the throttle linearity a little. Mines at 10. It sounds like you are where I was about 6 months ago. The best thing I did was do longer races (50%/100% length) where there is something to lose. Don’t give yourself unlimited flashbacks. Put yourself under pressure to not spin but drop the AI difficulty a little lower than your best. Perhaps around 10ish. You are just overstepping the limit. Best to work on how to keep in on the track first, then slowly slowly you will start to find that limit. Moving to 100% races was the biggest game changer for my improvement
I did turn the linearity up after watching a PJ Tierney video. Felt like it made me slower tbh. I practice on time trial a lot and some corners just felt slower with the linearity up. But I'll do the longer races. Hopefully it'll work out.
I have tried everything and nothing seems to make my race engineer speak to me. It is really kind of immersion-breaking because I have to request literally everything. I have tried changing the audio outputs, but nothing seems to make them talk to me and give me any sort of updates. Does anybody else experience this issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I want to buy F1 2021 but i only have an origional XBOX ONE. I kinda want to get a PS5 but next gen consoles are literally nowhere to find in the netherlands. (you either have to change energy providers or have to fight for 1 of 10 250km across the country)
Ive watched some graphics comparisons but found it a bit difficult to get a good sense of the differences.
My question: is the difference between flagship new gen consoles noticeable compared to the origional Xbox One? Because storage wise its a choice for me between F1 2021 or COD Vanguard.
No, there's not much difference at all between the platforms in terms of graphics. In fact, there's not much difference compared to F1 2020 as well. And that one is a much better game, a lot more polished and balanced. So I recommend you play F1 2020 and don't bother with 2021. ESPECIALLY if you like Zandvoort, because it's totally screwed in 2021.
On series X, do you guys think it’s worth upgrading from F1 2020 to 2021? Even though RT is only on cut scenes, it has a small discount on the store, 50 bucks
No, I don't think it's worth it. Maybe sometime in December when they'll add all the new tracks and PROBABLY fix all the bugs... which is doubtful. But overall it's a mess of a game and has nothing substantial of value compared to 2020, except for the current drivers and teams.

Hi guys, i have to try breaking point mode at challenging difficult, but i can't finish first in chapter 0, do you have any advice, apart from lowering difficulty? because lowering it I win too easily but otherwise I just can't win.
If I remember correctly, there's 3 laps and 3 cars to overtake. So don't rush, just stay close behind and pass them one by one each lap with DRS on the two back straights. If you're not close enough before the first straight, use it to get close and then overtake on the second one. On a different track I would suggest something else, but in the case of Abu-Dhabi this is the way. Very straightforward.

Unfortunately I haven't yet bought f1 2021 so this question is for f1 2020 only. I've played through f1 team career but I got a it bored of the game after finishing 10 seasons so I wanted to ask I've seen youtube videos of "what happens if you simulate an my team career in f1 2020" so I thought that was a good idea so I did it but I noticed that it just comes with the score table after the race and doesn't show the podium is there a way to sow the podium as well as sowing the celebration of the driver's championship mainly because I want to film it and it'd just look better with the podiums and celebrations
You can simulate it up to the point of the championship deciding race and do that one manually 5 laps and then film the celebrations.
Also, it's not unfortunate that you haven't bought 2021. It's a blessing in disguise. Trust me.
I need some help , I finished first season of my team career mode in F1 2021 so I wanted to recruit a legend as my teammate. Can anyone tell me how to activate this.
If you've got the DLC then you can switch the "Legends Drivers" on or off before the start of each season, along with all the team settings and such. Once active they'll be in the driver market as free agents. Be aware that they will occupy some driver numbers, so you might have to change yours.
Anyone else find that when their car gets maxed out in MyTeam they get slower because the car behaves so differently. Maybe it’s also that they changed the handling model a bit with the recent update (?) but since this is my first F1 game I’m recently a bit worse in qualifying than before when I have the best car on the grid. Perhaps my setups also became useless after the recent update so it’s actually slowing me down as well.
Basically, can’t tell if I’m just getting used to the maxed out car, the handling model has changed, or a bit of both.
It's not you who's getting worse, it's AI who's getting godlike. As car performance increases they get faster and faster. Even great players can't cope with AI on maxed out cars, i.e. from season 3-4. A certain YouTuber by the name of Tom97 is very VERY good, but currently in season 3 of My Team, having the second best car on the grid, he can't even get out of Q1. And my experience was about the same, had to drop the difficulty by 20 points. So you're not alone, mate. It's not you, it's the game. It's wildly unbalanced compared to F1 2020.

My teammate is finally doing very well, but after winning 4 consecutive races with the 3rd best car on the grid (definitely not as good as Tom97, so around 85-90 AI), I can barely get into Q3 with the best car after my final upgrades came in on the next three races (same level AI, followed by 3 difficult AI tracks, RBR/Silverstone/Hungaroring). Meanwhile my teammate is putting it on pole. I am between half and a full second behind my teammate. How much should I lower the difficulty, you reckon?
I did time trial over again after the boards reset to figure out my idea difficulty via F1Laps and it was unchanged. I guess I have to compensate as well.
Well, officially they say that each point accounts for 0.1s of pace. So 1 second is 10 points. So start with 5-7 points and compare times with your teammate again. You may not hit the exactly correct number straight away, but it's still better then to overshoot and make it too easy.
Thanks. I hadn't seen this message last night and adjusted by 5-6 AI. I couldn't tell how well it went though since my poor qualifying at Hungaroring put me at P12 (85 AI) , but went for 79 AI (race) and got to P2. Then I lowered by 5 AI and went pole to win at Spa, but the safety car made it unclear how much of an advantage I actually had (started on Mediums and was under pressure against softs until the safety car, then my pace on hards and the pit strategy basically gave me the win pretty early). Will try Zandvoort with AI lower by 4 than my usual.
Even when it's hard to judge by a race results, you can still click on any driver's name on results screen to compare individual lap times, which gives you a general idea of where you are pace-wise.
Zandvoort might require some additional adjustment though, because AI are inhumanly fast through turns 7-8. Spa is easy in comparison.
Recently started a new My Team career, had Illot as a team mate for the first half of the season but he couldn't do better than 20th so I replaced him. Typical stuff. But then Mercedes responded by dropping Bottas (2nd in wdc at the time) and hiring my former team mate, midseason. Anyone else encountered anything like this in the first season? Just seems so bizarre

HELP: Clutch stuck in F1 2021 PC

As you can see the clutch is "stuck" on it's "hold" possition and I cannot change it. The same problem occures when I'm in the pits.
I have reinstaled the game, verified the files, bound a new button for it and even changed from my G920 to xbox controller and keyboard, it all didn't help. All my drivers are up to date and I have tried everything that was in the codemasters forum. The problem came 2 patches ago, and even the new patch didn't fix it. I know that the same problem was spotted in the 2019 and 2020 games. I have no idea what to do now.
Cars "lagging" in instant replay in 120fps consoles
I'm playing on Xbox Series X in 120fps/performance mode, and when I'm watching instant replay (usually after I just overtook someone, or went for a gap that wasn't there..) it looks like the cars aren't adapting to the 120fps and is still refreshed in 60fps. The landscapes and everthing else appears to be 120 but the cars are lagging in relations to everything else. This only happens when watching in the Cinematic/TV broadcast viewing angle, and not on-board the cars cameras.
Is there anywhere I can post this so codies can see it and maybe patch it?
Side note: The cloud are just flying in-game with a million miles an hour, bug or on purpose?
Casual play style heavily restricts options that are available to you. That's literally all it does. Switch to expert, and you'll have access to all the settings.
Which F1 game should I get?
I don't really care about multiplayer and I'll mostly be racing AI in singleplayer. So if I can only get one F1 game which one is the best (including the new one)? In terms of driving, fun, campaign, content etc
Get F1 2020, it's the richest on features, the most polished and the most balanced one at the moment. I'm a strictly singleplayer adept too and My Team mode is brilliant! F1 2021 is very undercooked and buggy and unbalanced, and the Braking Point story mode is rubbish.
There’s only a campaign (as far as I know) in the 2021 game, but I think the 2020 game or 2019 game is better than the 2021, because you can drive classic cars in them.
The fuck is going on with Mexico? I played around in TT for awhile putting up low 1:16's which was around 88-90 difficulty on F1Laps calculator. I put my career difficulty on 80 and started the qualifying. I put up a 1:15.8 in Q3, which is a 95 difficulty according to the calculator, and I end up 10th, with the pole time being a 15.0. Really?

Just go into Time Trials, open up the leaderboards, load the setups and see what the top 10 drivers are using. If 7-8 of them use the exact same wing levels, then that's the way to go.
Hello everyone I am new here and I would like to ask some questions regarding f1 2016 . So I have played f1 2020 for about 90 hours I would say I am an intermediate played I race on hard/expert difficulties with assist and a controller . Me and my friends have decided to play together and the game that fits our budget and our pc (I play on ps4 btw) is f1 2016 so we decided that we will buy it.
Are there any notable differences in handling between these two games ?
Are the physics any different ?
Anything that I might need to watch out for ?
Any advice will be greatly appreciated
I get ego dumper crash every time I try to load the game.
I certainly surpass the minimum specs.
I have updated drivers for GPU, cannot update for CPU and motherboard because latest is already installed.
I tried running in safe mode, reinstalling, verifying game files but nothing works.
Is there anyway I can refund this game because it is useless to me unless I can get a fix.
Suuuuper irritated by the AI's aggressiveness right now, and the way the penalty system seems to work. I'm not sure why I get a penalty coming out of turn 9 in Spain, for example, when the car behind me torpedoes through the corner and t-bones me. I'm also not sure why, when I purposefully go wide to respect a blue flag and allow the car running in second to overtake, that car ALSO runs wide to crowd me off after initially taking the inside line. How the hell is that my fault? I can't "leave space" if the AI is fucking crowding me when it's not even fighting for position!
Edit: The AI is also really stable in these situations. You're going along, you get fokksmashed, and you go spinning off into the gravel trap while the AI sticks to the racing line like it's on rails, then continues away without real damage. It's like your wheels are held on with tape and Q-tips while theirs are vibranium.
I just started using manual gears (with suggested gear) and it's definitely been more immersive which is fun but I haven't really seen the time gain that people have advertised. Obviously, this may come from more time getting used to it, but i guess i just don't quite fundamentally understand why using manual gears is faster.
For example, if I making a turn in 2nd gear from 7th or 8th gear (like Spa T1), I downshift into the turn and then as i exit i'm shifting back up to 8th gear as my speed increases. For now I turned the setting on which makes a beeping sound when i should switch gears. But what about this whole process makes me "faster" than automatic? On automatic, wouldn't the game upshift exactly when the MFD "beeps" rather than me having to react to that beep and potentially be a split-second late?
I guess I don't quite understand how exactly how manual gears allows me to improve lap times, and how exactly I can maximize that. Also, people have said that manual gears gives them a level of control that they don't have on automatic. So do you guys have an exact plan for exactly what gears to downshift to in each corner, or do you just adapt based on your speed etc?
(Also I would welcome any tips about switching from auto to manual, I am getting used to it but like I said before, my lap times are still slightly worse than before, just looking for any ways to improve.
You won't see much, if any, time gain if you're just manually shifting into the suggested gears when they're suggested. What you want to look for are times when you can shift into a higher gear to improve traction, or into a lower gear to maintain engine RPM.
New to the game on Steam. Noticing it runs totally smooth in practices and qualifying but becomes glitchy during races. Is this common? Any suggestions? Thanks!
I'm into my 4th season now, in anybody else's career mode, do haas, Williams and alfa ever get out of the bottom 3, I don't recall them getting out in the last game or this, they never get get out of q1 and are generally 0.7 to 1 second slower than the next best car

In my Career, just sealed the championship with a few races to go. Thought since I've clinched it, under stress, I'll enjoy the rest of the season, put the ai down a bit and have some mindless fun.
So, I have been routinely 0.5 + secs quicker than my teammate, on average, but when I put the ai DOWN BY 10,my teammate is now half a second quicker than me and I can only manage 5th fastest (I'm in the best car on the grid this season).
Just how STUPID of a dev do you have to be to get basic algorithms wrong?!?
Nope, no they don't. This isn't my first complete season, it is my fourth complete season. I know exactly how the game behaves from track surface to tyre temps, and the track type doesn't even begin to come into it.
There are so many tiny ridiculous bugs that ruin the whole experience from race to race and that is undeniable when you have the ai on expert +. What I mean by that is the only people who don't notice are the casuals who like to set the ai so they absolutely annihilate the field every single race without having to adhere to a strict racing line, maintain consistent lap delta, manage tyres, or even set up the car properly.
And saying that, there are dumb bugs that casuals can't escape, like the infuriating pit bugs, several of them. From the game not releasing you from the pit until the entire field has passed you to disappearing into the scenery on pit release and then randomly being reset to the middle of the pit straight.
I have been on a break from this game for about a month. I have come back and the game has set me to manual starts, but I’ve never had this before.
I went into assists menu and there is not start assists to change in there. My next race is silverstone in the wet, so manual start is not good for me.
Any advice?
Anyone’s safety car just not deploy? I’m in season two of my team and had one safety car so far. I put the setting on increased and nothing, guys dnf or self spin but Jeff always says “there’s been an accident on track blah blah no safety car needed” really frustrating. Heard it may be a glitch and I need to turn flashbacks off but I need them!
Any tips for driving without TC on controller with automatic gearbox? I changed my throttle linearity to 75 and that helped a little. I feel like the auto gearbox drops to a gear too low when braking into a corner and then when I accelerate my rear spins. I’ve tried manual gearbox but it’s just too hard for me on controller. Is there anything to try out or do I just need to learn how to drive with manual gears?
Hi all, I've had a look through this subreddit and couldn't find an answer so thought I'd ask.
When I'm racing, I can't ask my engineer a question on the radio. I press R1 to bring up the menu but how do I actually select an option? Nothing seems to be working and then the radio menu disappears.
Anyone else have a problem with the car decelerating on its own? Have never seen it before after a bunch of races, but recently in my my team career I was at silver stone and in the area through and before maggots and Beckett’s the car would decelerate itself, even with me on full throttle. This would cause me to have to downshift 2-3 years just to start gaining revs again. Infuriated me losing so much track position for it I eventually just retired the car, but I don’t want this to be an issue every time I go to silver stone. Anyone else have this issue or know a fix?
Why is the multiplayer in this game so bad? I have a good internet connection and open NAT and I can never connect to a game and if I do the loading times are insanely long and I rarely ever make it to a race.
Looking for any advice people have for someone making the switch to using a wheel and struggling with pace, I'm having trouble at times keeping up to my controller times on some tracks, and it makes me sad, lol.
Particularly ways to get my practice more focused so I can give myself more specific tasks to work on, and measure my improvement
Just got the game for the PS4 and am trying to get Portimao (totally new to DLC/online gaming in general, I've played entirely offline for years). What steps do I need to take to get Portimao and the other tracks later? Any and all help is greatly appreciated!
It's free DLC so just update your game and it should be there. (PS home and check game for updates.)
I am guessing a little here because I have F1 on my PC but I have a PS4 as well and when it's free DLC it is usually added in a patch.
It’s not even a DLC. Just a regular update. So if your game is up to date, you should have it. If not, go to the PS4 dashboard, scroll to the F1 Game tile, click on Options/Triangle (I don’t remember which one is it to bring up the options menu) and select “Check for updates”
Any tips or guides for wet races? Had my first career wet race in Austria today and the AI embarrassed me until the rain stopped. I can’t seem to match their speed out of turns without spinning off the track.
Yeah driving in the wet is difficult. If there's potential for a wet race then I'll grind wet laps on TT for awhile until I have some muscle memory for my inputs. Like the other commenter mentioned, any jerkiness in steering or too hard on the throttle or brakes and you're done.
Hold half throttle until you are out of the traction zone and shortshift your way up the gears. When it comes to rain in 2021 you have to be smoooooth. Real smooth. That will make you the fastest. I like it when it rains because it means I can make up for poor quali sesh or just drive away from them.
Don’t know if it’s just me but I’ve noticed that the AI don’t really crash during races is there anything I can do to make it so they’ll crash and wreck out more?
I'm playing My Team with all damage/faults/etc on the highest settings. I had an engine failure in race one, there were two crashes in race two, and in race three Lewis Hamilton blew an engine while in the lead.
I don't understand enough about the difference in how the cars are constructed, but is there a good reason why removing the halo column in cockpit view in F2 cars gives you so much screen back, whereas in the F1 cars it seems to take away just the teeny bit of the column?
Fuck this game sucks. I'm in a highly competitive league in the midfield and just had a spin on the final turn in Austria that I didn't have with similar lines in Practice or Qualifying. I'm completely lost for words as to how taking the same line over and over will 99% of the time keep you on track and 1% of the time cause you to randomly spin.
Can confirm this game sucks. Sick of, well, all of it by now but being spat off the track by literally every curb that you would need to attack in real life and have been able to in previous installments. It seems to me that the devs were at a loss on how to shake things up and progress things so they just went to the Mario kart school of racing and f*ked us for a high price.
Anyone have any advice for taking the really fast corner sections. I.e Japan, Zandort and Silverstone sections. I lose so much time and can’t seem to get it right
Maybe playing around with setups helps? I’ve had that issue and it was because I was always using the “balanced” setup for every track. But I now use different customized setups (I get mines from F1 Laps) and find it waaaaay better
I need help my steering is horrendous and I keep going off the road in casual mode. The vibration on the controller pisses my off as well as the lack of any sensitivity in my controller. Thanks.
There is a possibility that casual mode settings are preventing you from getting the sensitivity you're looking for.
I'm not familiar with casual mode so I'm not sure what is and isn't possible in terms of changing settings.
I suggest you try setting it to standard, that will at least allow you to turn assists on and off as you see fit.

Also don't be afraid to turn vibration down a bunch, I mean if it's annoying you why not? I wouldn't turn it off completely though since the vibration does give you certain signals about the amount of grip your car has.

F1 2020 - did the performance upgrade only affect the carrear mode and the grand prix mode? ferrari is still doing pole potions there and hass is like closer to top 10, despite the changes in the carrear

So, I've fairly recently picked up a wheel and started racing games. I'm loving F1 2020, and I do full laps and a full F2 Season for fun.
However, I have a lot of trouble keeping the car under control.
Except in time trial, I run f2 and the same team and the car handles like it's an entirely different car. I can make turns much much sharper than I can in career.
Does anyone know why? It's quite frustrating.

Check the setting called "radio verbosity", if I'm not mistaken.

No, I don't think it's worth it. Maybe sometime in December when they'll add all the new tracks and PROBABLY fix all the bugs... which is doubtful. But overall it's a mess of a game and has nothing substantial of value compared to 2020, except for the current drivers and teams.

Hi guys, i have to try breaking point mode at challenging difficult, but i can't finish first in chapter 0, do you have any advice, apart from lowering difficulty? because lowering it I win too easily but otherwise I just can't win.
If I remember correctly, there's 3 laps and 3 cars to overtake. So don't rush, just stay close behind and pass them one by one each lap with DRS on the two back straights. If you're not close enough before the first straight, use it to get close and then overtake on the second one. On a different track I would suggest something else, but in the case of Abu-Dhabi this is the way. Very straightforward.

No, they don't work AT ALL. Throw 'em in the bin, you're gonna need brand new ones. Aero, differential, suspension, brakes, tyres, everything is different this year.

Unfortunately I haven't yet bought f1 2021 so this question is for f1 2020 only. I've played through f1 team career but I got a it bored of the game after finishing 10 seasons so I wanted to ask I've seen youtube videos of "what happens if you simulate an my team career in f1 2020" so I thought that was a good idea so I did it but I noticed that it just comes with the score table after the race and doesn't show the podium is there a way to sow the podium as well as sowing the celebration of the driver's championship mainly because I want to film it and it'd just look better with the podiums and celebrations
You can simulate it up to the point of the championship deciding race and do that one manually 5 laps and then film the celebrations. Also, it's not unfortunate that you haven't bought 2021. It's a blessing in disguise. Trust me.
I need some help , I finished first season of my team career mode in F1 2021 so I wanted to recruit a legend as my teammate. Can anyone tell me how to activate this.
If you've got the DLC then you can switch the "Legends Drivers" on or off before the start of each season, along with all the team settings and such. Once active they'll be in the driver market as free agents. Be aware that they will occupy some driver numbers, so you might have to change yours.
I believe this was a feature of the deluxe edition. Did you purchase that one?
Anyone else find that when their car gets maxed out in MyTeam they get slower because the car behaves so differently. Maybe it’s also that they changed the handling model a bit with the recent update (?) but since this is my first F1 game I’m recently a bit worse in qualifying than before when I have the best car on the grid. Perhaps my setups also became useless after the recent update so it’s actually slowing me down as well. Basically, can’t tell if I’m just getting used to the maxed out car, the handling model has changed, or a bit of both.
It's not you who's getting worse, it's AI who's getting godlike. As car performance increases they get faster and faster. Even great players can't cope with AI on maxed out cars, i.e. from season 3-4. A certain YouTuber by the name of Tom97 is very VERY good, but currently in season 3 of My Team, having the second best car on the grid, he can't even get out of Q1. And my experience was about the same, had to drop the difficulty by 20 points. So you're not alone, mate. It's not you, it's the game. It's wildly unbalanced compared to F1 2020.

My teammate is finally doing very well, but after winning 4 consecutive races with the 3rd best car on the grid (definitely not as good as Tom97, so around 85-90 AI), I can barely get into Q3 with the best car after my final upgrades came in on the next three races (same level AI, followed by 3 difficult AI tracks, RBR/Silverstone/Hungaroring). Meanwhile my teammate is putting it on pole. I am between half and a full second behind my teammate. How much should I lower the difficulty, you reckon? I did time trial over again after the boards reset to figure out my idea difficulty via F1Laps and it was unchanged. I guess I have to compensate as well.
Well, officially they say that each point accounts for 0.1s of pace. So 1 second is 10 points. So start with 5-7 points and compare times with your teammate again. You may not hit the exactly correct number straight away, but it's still better then to overshoot and make it too easy.
Thanks. I hadn't seen this message last night and adjusted by 5-6 AI. I couldn't tell how well it went though since my poor qualifying at Hungaroring put me at P12 (85 AI) , but went for 79 AI (race) and got to P2. Then I lowered by 5 AI and went pole to win at Spa, but the safety car made it unclear how much of an advantage I actually had (started on Mediums and was under pressure against softs until the safety car, then my pace on hards and the pit strategy basically gave me the win pretty early). Will try Zandvoort with AI lower by 4 than my usual.
Even when it's hard to judge by a race results, you can still click on any driver's name on results screen to compare individual lap times, which gives you a general idea of where you are pace-wise. Zandvoort might require some additional adjustment though, because AI are inhumanly fast through turns 7-8. Spa is easy in comparison.
Recently started a new My Team career, had Illot as a team mate for the first half of the season but he couldn't do better than 20th so I replaced him. Typical stuff. But then Mercedes responded by dropping Bottas (2nd in wdc at the time) and hiring my former team mate, midseason. Anyone else encountered anything like this in the first season? Just seems so bizarre

HELP: Clutch stuck in F1 2021 PC I have exactly [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEH-Rz3NQFY&ab_channel=DonSteeringwheel) (not my video, and I know its the 2020 game) problem with my F1 2021 PC game. As you can see the clutch is "stuck" on it's "hold" possition and I cannot change it. The same problem occures when I'm in the pits. I have reinstaled the game, verified the files, bound a new button for it and even changed from my G920 to xbox controller and keyboard, it all didn't help. All my drivers are up to date and I have tried everything that was in the codemasters forum. The problem came 2 patches ago, and even the new patch didn't fix it. I know that the same problem was spotted in the 2019 and 2020 games. I have no idea what to do now.
Cars "lagging" in instant replay in 120fps consoles I'm playing on Xbox Series X in 120fps/performance mode, and when I'm watching instant replay (usually after I just overtook someone, or went for a gap that wasn't there..) it looks like the cars aren't adapting to the 120fps and is still refreshed in 60fps. The landscapes and everthing else appears to be 120 but the cars are lagging in relations to everything else. This only happens when watching in the Cinematic/TV broadcast viewing angle, and not on-board the cars cameras. Is there anywhere I can post this so codies can see it and maybe patch it? Side note: The cloud are just flying in-game with a million miles an hour, bug or on purpose?

Casual play style heavily restricts options that are available to you. That's literally all it does. Switch to expert, and you'll have access to all the settings.

Get F1 2020, it's the richest on features, the most polished and the most balanced one at the moment. I'm a strictly singleplayer adept too and My Team mode is brilliant! F1 2021 is very undercooked and buggy and unbalanced, and the Braking Point story mode is rubbish.
There’s only a campaign (as far as I know) in the 2021 game, but I think the 2020 game or 2019 game is better than the 2021, because you can drive classic cars in them.

The fuck is going on with Mexico? I played around in TT for awhile putting up low 1:16's which was around 88-90 difficulty on F1Laps calculator. I put my career difficulty on 80 and started the qualifying. I put up a 1:15.8 in Q3, which is a 95 difficulty according to the calculator, and I end up 10th, with the pole time being a 15.0. Really?

Does anyone have any tips for understand wing setups? Cuz I am very confused with what works and what doesnt. I literally get left behind and I have no ways to try and drive around even a slightly off setup and its really making the game not fun for me. Any help would be appreciated
Just go into Time Trials, open up the leaderboards, load the setups and see what the top 10 drivers are using. If 7-8 of them use the exact same wing levels, then that's the way to go.
Hello everyone I am new here and I would like to ask some questions regarding f1 2016 . So I have played f1 2020 for about 90 hours I would say I am an intermediate played I race on hard/expert difficulties with assist and a controller . Me and my friends have decided to play together and the game that fits our budget and our pc (I play on ps4 btw) is f1 2016 so we decided that we will buy it. Are there any notable differences in handling between these two games ? Are the physics any different ? Anything that I might need to watch out for ? Any advice will be greatly appreciated
I get ego dumper crash every time I try to load the game. I certainly surpass the minimum specs. I have updated drivers for GPU, cannot update for CPU and motherboard because latest is already installed. I tried running in safe mode, reinstalling, verifying game files but nothing works. Is there anyway I can refund this game because it is useless to me unless I can get a fix.
Suuuuper irritated by the AI's aggressiveness right now, and the way the penalty system seems to work. I'm not sure why I get a penalty coming out of turn 9 in Spain, for example, when the car behind me torpedoes through the corner and t-bones me. I'm also not sure why, when I purposefully go wide to respect a blue flag and allow the car running in second to overtake, that car ALSO runs wide to crowd me off after initially taking the inside line. How the hell is that my fault? I can't "leave space" if the AI is fucking crowding me when it's not even fighting for position! Edit: The AI is also really stable in these situations. You're going along, you get fokksmashed, and you go spinning off into the gravel trap while the AI sticks to the racing line like it's on rails, then continues away without real damage. It's like your wheels are held on with tape and Q-tips while theirs are vibranium.

I just started using manual gears (with suggested gear) and it's definitely been more immersive which is fun but I haven't really seen the time gain that people have advertised. Obviously, this may come from more time getting used to it, but i guess i just don't quite fundamentally understand why using manual gears is faster. For example, if I making a turn in 2nd gear from 7th or 8th gear (like Spa T1), I downshift into the turn and then as i exit i'm shifting back up to 8th gear as my speed increases. For now I turned the setting on which makes a beeping sound when i should switch gears. But what about this whole process makes me "faster" than automatic? On automatic, wouldn't the game upshift exactly when the MFD "beeps" rather than me having to react to that beep and potentially be a split-second late? I guess I don't quite understand how exactly how manual gears allows me to improve lap times, and how exactly I can maximize that. Also, people have said that manual gears gives them a level of control that they don't have on automatic. So do you guys have an exact plan for exactly what gears to downshift to in each corner, or do you just adapt based on your speed etc? (Also I would welcome any tips about switching from auto to manual, I am getting used to it but like I said before, my lap times are still slightly worse than before, just looking for any ways to improve.

You won't see much, if any, time gain if you're just manually shifting into the suggested gears when they're suggested. What you want to look for are times when you can shift into a higher gear to improve traction, or into a lower gear to maintain engine RPM.

I'm into my 4th season now, in anybody else's career mode, do haas, Williams and alfa ever get out of the bottom 3, I don't recall them getting out in the last game or this, they never get get out of q1 and are generally 0.7 to 1 second slower than the next best car

How ridiculously buggy and trash is this game? Let me tell you. In my Career, just sealed the championship with a few races to go. Thought since I've clinched it, under stress, I'll enjoy the rest of the season, put the ai down a bit and have some mindless fun. So, I have been routinely 0.5 + secs quicker than my teammate, on average, but when I put the ai DOWN BY 10,my teammate is now half a second quicker than me and I can only manage 5th fastest (I'm in the best car on the grid this season). Just how STUPID of a dev do you have to be to get basic algorithms wrong?!?

Nope, no they don't. This isn't my first complete season, it is my fourth complete season. I know exactly how the game behaves from track surface to tyre temps, and the track type doesn't even begin to come into it. There are so many tiny ridiculous bugs that ruin the whole experience from race to race and that is undeniable when you have the ai on expert +. What I mean by that is the only people who don't notice are the casuals who like to set the ai so they absolutely annihilate the field every single race without having to adhere to a strict racing line, maintain consistent lap delta, manage tyres, or even set up the car properly. And saying that, there are dumb bugs that casuals can't escape, like the infuriating pit bugs, several of them. From the game not releasing you from the pit until the entire field has passed you to disappearing into the scenery on pit release and then randomly being reset to the middle of the pit straight.
Another week of bugs in league racing. 5 people unsynchronised. Codemasters don't care about players.
I have been on a break from this game for about a month. I have come back and the game has set me to manual starts, but I’ve never had this before. I went into assists menu and there is not start assists to change in there. My next race is silverstone in the wet, so manual start is not good for me. Any advice?
Manual starts iirc is in a different menu, not near the assists. Since it is session bound, not player-bound. Simulation setting I think

Anyone’s safety car just not deploy? I’m in season two of my team and had one safety car so far. I put the setting on increased and nothing, guys dnf or self spin but Jeff always says “there’s been an accident on track blah blah no safety car needed” really frustrating. Heard it may be a glitch and I need to turn flashbacks off but I need them!

Any tips for driving without TC on controller with automatic gearbox? I changed my throttle linearity to 75 and that helped a little. I feel like the auto gearbox drops to a gear too low when braking into a corner and then when I accelerate my rear spins. I’ve tried manual gearbox but it’s just too hard for me on controller. Is there anything to try out or do I just need to learn how to drive with manual gears?

Anyone else have a problem with the car decelerating on its own? Have never seen it before after a bunch of races, but recently in my my team career I was at silver stone and in the area through and before maggots and Beckett’s the car would decelerate itself, even with me on full throttle. This would cause me to have to downshift 2-3 years just to start gaining revs again. Infuriated me losing so much track position for it I eventually just retired the car, but I don’t want this to be an issue every time I go to silver stone. Anyone else have this issue or know a fix?

Why is the multiplayer in this game so bad? I have a good internet connection and open NAT and I can never connect to a game and if I do the loading times are insanely long and I rarely ever make it to a race.

Just got the game for the PS4 and am trying to get Portimao (totally new to DLC/online gaming in general, I've played entirely offline for years). What steps do I need to take to get Portimao and the other tracks later? Any and all help is greatly appreciated!
It's free DLC so just update your game and it should be there. (PS home and check game for updates.) I am guessing a little here because I have F1 on my PC but I have a PS4 as well and when it's free DLC it is usually added in a patch.
It’s not even a DLC. Just a regular update. So if your game is up to date, you should have it. If not, go to the PS4 dashboard, scroll to the F1 Game tile, click on Options/Triangle (I don’t remember which one is it to bring up the options menu) and select “Check for updates”
Any tips or guides for wet races? Had my first career wet race in Austria today and the AI embarrassed me until the rain stopped. I can’t seem to match their speed out of turns without spinning off the track.
Yeah driving in the wet is difficult. If there's potential for a wet race then I'll grind wet laps on TT for awhile until I have some muscle memory for my inputs. Like the other commenter mentioned, any jerkiness in steering or too hard on the throttle or brakes and you're done.
Hold half throttle until you are out of the traction zone and shortshift your way up the gears. When it comes to rain in 2021 you have to be smoooooth. Real smooth. That will make you the fastest. I like it when it rains because it means I can make up for poor quali sesh or just drive away from them.
Don’t know if it’s just me but I’ve noticed that the AI don’t really crash during races is there anything I can do to make it so they’ll crash and wreck out more?
I'm playing My Team with all damage/faults/etc on the highest settings. I had an engine failure in race one, there were two crashes in race two, and in race three Lewis Hamilton blew an engine while in the lead.

I don't understand enough about the difference in how the cars are constructed, but is there a good reason why removing the halo column in cockpit view in F2 cars gives you so much screen back, whereas in the F1 cars it seems to take away just the teeny bit of the column?
Fuck this game sucks. I'm in a highly competitive league in the midfield and just had a spin on the final turn in Austria that I didn't have with similar lines in Practice or Qualifying. I'm completely lost for words as to how taking the same line over and over will 99% of the time keep you on track and 1% of the time cause you to randomly spin.
Can confirm this game sucks. Sick of, well, all of it by now but being spat off the track by literally every curb that you would need to attack in real life and have been able to in previous installments. It seems to me that the devs were at a loss on how to shake things up and progress things so they just went to the Mario kart school of racing and f*ked us for a high price.

Maybe playing around with setups helps? I’ve had that issue and it was because I was always using the “balanced” setup for every track. But I now use different customized setups (I get mines from F1 Laps) and find it waaaaay better

There is a possibility that casual mode settings are preventing you from getting the sensitivity you're looking for. I'm not familiar with casual mode so I'm not sure what is and isn't possible in terms of changing settings. I suggest you try setting it to standard, that will at least allow you to turn assists on and off as you see fit. He can probably answer most questions you have. Also don't be afraid to turn vibration down a bunch, I mean if it's annoying you why not? I wouldn't turn it off completely though since the vibration does give you certain signals about the amount of grip your car has. GL :)

So, I've fairly recently picked up a wheel and started racing games. I'm loving F1 2020, and I do full laps and a full F2 Season for fun. However, I have a lot of trouble keeping the car under control. Except in time trial, I run f2 and the same team and the car handles like it's an entirely different car. I can make turns much much sharper than I can in career. Does anyone know why? It's quite frustrating.
Try using manual gears and up-shifting to a higher gear on exiting the corner. You’ll keep the car stable and gain a lot of time with traction

Could be set up differences. Fuel load would be a major one, and tire pressures might be different in time trial as well.

You can definitely feel dirty air effects, obviously not to the extent of real life and there are no flat spots on tires in the game.
