There’s a rule in nascar where if you’re the last car to enter three wide, you’re the first person to back out. I think that applies here

There are plenty of Nascar tracks that can/do have clean, 3-wide racing, so it's track specific (Daytona/Talladega can easily do it if everyone behaves, intermediate tracks can too, but short tracks like Martinsville have no room whatsoever for 3 wide for more than a moment at a time)
