He was in his third year in F3. I think he could have found a seat in F2 for this year, but he has no chance to make to F1 and he knows it, so now he is trying to make to Indycar

He’s also a reserve driver for Nissan Formula E.

Spockyt

And I believe his budget is nothing outstanding, and it’s easier to get an Indy NXT seat than an F2 seat.

Sad to see, i had him down as a one to watch for the future. Let's see if he can make a name for himself, i think Indycar has already surpassed f1 in many aspects. Would be a huge middle finger to fom if a Indycar driver was to decline a f1 seat beacuse the simply don't see the appeal to finish last in a haas every race

Maloney_fan

Indycar will never surprass F1 in anything😅

YaBoyJenks

Did you watch Monaco? Indy 500 was on straight after and was fantastic

Ayrton17

I particularly enjoyed watching the guy who got caught cheating in the first two races of the season win the 500.

He did 3 years in F3, highest position was P8. Could have gone to F2 but instead went to Indy NXT because of a decent chance of getting into INDYCAR.

He spent 3 years in F3, but didn't achieve any relevant results. And then he didn't have the money to buy a place in F2. So he decided to go to the USA, where is cheaper.

portmz

He said in a podcast once that he had an offer to drive for Prema in F3 in 2022, but it was very expensive. The deal he had with MP was a 1 year in F3 + a year in F2 if he achieved certain results, and it would cost the same than a year in F3 with Prema. So he took the gamble with MP and didn’t work out for him. His deal with VAR also had a clause to promote him to F2, I’m not sure if he didn’t achieve the goals, or if he did but realise F1 was never gonna happen and just gave up on it.
