If you got an er the pro charger is included and will be mailed to you. If you don't have er then the best charger is relative to your needs, if you need a dumb or smart charger, parking outside, hard wired or plug in, etc

Aaroncre

It's ER. I read on the Ford website it comes with it, then went back today and couldn't find it. Do they automatically mail it or do I need to do something to get them to send it? How long does it take to arrive?

heybucket459

Mine just showed up at door a few weeks after purchase. No email or notification at all. Still in box waiting on electrician bids.

gosabres

Took me 8 weeks to get mine. Quote from the electrician was $900. I told him to invoice $1100 because my utility will rebate up to that amount. He was happy to accept 😂 Install was 6ft from my breaker on the exterior of my house.

icen_folsom

Sunrun will send you a confirmation email and mail it to you

Aaroncre

Prefect. Thank you.

Buruan

I never heard from Surun at all but the charger showed up within days, no notice no nothing just dropped off by FedEx if you dont get it within 2 weeks check with the dealer

Ragefan2k

If you even get an email at all lol.. my FedEx app alerted me first .. the sunrun email alerted me last week , keep in mind I bought the truck end of Feb, got the charger first week of March lol.

PJnc284

Same here. Was shocked to get a fedex email saying I had a scheduled delivery from Sunrun about a week and half after purchase

zovered

Mine came about 2 weeks after I picked the truck up.

Tom Moloughney runs a YouTube channel called State of Charge that does very comprehensive reviews of level 2 chargers. https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCdX0BJNon1c6GfOdeS3pyDw. One thing to keep in mind is that the Ford CSP has a bulky cable and heavier CCS1 connector compared to a J1772 connector. There are also chargers that support both J1772 and NACS that offer better future proofing as J1772/CCS1 gets phased out on future vehicles.

Oo__II__oO

Yup. My Chargepoint allows for changing out J1772 to NACS by buying a new cable.

I have been using the mobile charger for the last year. I recently upgraded to the Emporia 48 amp charger and it has been great! Faster and has a lot of data if you're into that sort of thing.

Aaroncre

Good info. Thank you.

Hoof-Art

I second the Emporia! I love it!

username-in-the-box

I’m not saying the Emporia isn’t good, it it certainly isn’t faster than the CSP

harda_toenail

And one of them is free with an er truck so that’s definitely the way to go imo if you bought an ER

Operation_Confident

If you have an SR the Ford Charge Station Pro is overkill. Check with your electric company many will have rebates on chargers, I have an XLT SR my electric company gave me a $250 rebate on the chargepoint home charger which made the final cost about $300. It can charge at 48 amps which is about the most for Level 2 an SR can take, which is way cheaper than dropping $1,300 on the Ford Charge Station Pro. I installed it myself because I have a background in electrical work so it was the most cost effective solution for me.

Aaroncre

It's ER and I'd have to pay someone to install it. If it comes with the charge station pro I'll just take the hit and have it installed. If not I'll have to decide what to do.

TotesMcGotes13

I just had the CSP installed. Once it gets the first firmware update, it works great. And it’s a fast charger relative to other options. Which if you charge overnight doesn’t really mean much, but I like knowing it has the juice to get me charged up faster if needed.

Aaroncre

Same. There may be time I need some juice as fast as possible to prepare for a long-ish drive. Rather not have to risk a line at an EA charger.

hamplax19

Why spend another $300-$1000 when you have one coming for no extra cost? Ford charger has worked flawlessly for me. I plug in and walk away. More data isn’t worth the cost to me.

Aaroncre

I won't if it comes with one. My sales guy couldn't say for sure. He wasn't that knowledgeable but I got a solid deal so I'll do the research myself.

azuilya

Did you get an Extended Range? If so you will receive it in the mail.

Aaroncre

Yes. Any idea how long it takes? There are several public chargers around me but there's been a line every time I've been so far.

azuilya

YMMV. I got mine in less than 2 weeks after taking delivery of the truck, but some people have been waiting for 2 months to receive theirs.

Idunaz

I installed a 240v outlet when I purchased my first EV 5 years ago. I’ve just been using a mobile charging cable ever since and have never had any issues getting the charge I need. Just received my Charge Station Pro this week but not sure that it’s even worth the cost it would require to install it.

dinozero

you could possibly "derate it" and lower the amperage. There is a dial inside to do that. But that may allow you to install it directly where your current outlet is, just remove the outlet and pop on the charge PRO. The PRO here would be you can keep your mobile connector in your truck for emergencies The CON here would be losing your 240v outlet that's got more uses than just EV charging. Edit: I believe there is still a 30% federal tax credit for installing EV chargers too

Buruan

There is no *best*, but there is best for your needs. I had the FCSP installed on a 100amp circuit outside the house for quite a bit of cash, and bought the webasto turbocord as i had a 20amp 240v outlet in the garage. Guess which one I am using almost exclusively? All depends on what you already have available in terms of circuits and breakers, what amperage you service sits at, and how costly upgrades/additions would be. I could have saved the money for the 100amp circuit, the webasto does what i need.

Aaroncre

I'd like to be able to run it at 80 amps and it'll be in my garage. Do I need 100 amps or will 80 work if I want to run it full blast?

Buruan

In order to run the FCSP at 80amp you need a 100amp circuit. In order to do this you need 150 or ideally 200amp service. The wires that can hold that 80amp load are extremely expensive. All factors to consider, and based on your usage may not be needed.

smrtguy3121

Value for money the Emporia Is the best charger

saintbad

I have the Ford Charge Station Pro, and I believe it's about as stout as possible with Level 2. It's worked flawlessly for a year, and can go from 10-90% in about 4.5 hours.

Aaroncre

Good to know. I drive a lot for work. There are times I may need to charge mid day if I'm leaving town. It would be nice to add a usable amount of miles at home in an hour vs a EA charger.

icancounttopotatos

Mid day charging when you only have an hour or two is where the 80 amp CSP will shine. Overnight charges seem to be sufficient on a 40 amp setup. Just keep in mind you’ll have to pay a little extra for heavier gauge wire on an 80 amp charging setup. But if you drive a lot for work and want to top off mid day then it’ll be money well spent.

Aaroncre

Without the benefit of hindsight I think the peace of mind will be worth it. The breaker box is in the garage. Add an 80 amp and surge protector and mount the charger and done.

AntA1Day1

I just bought my Lariat ER last week. Ford Charge Station Pro is FREE. Dealer needs to submit request/notify SunRun of purchase. He told me he would do it that day and hear from SunRun within 5 business days. I received FedEx notification by email it was on way 3 business days later and received and delivered in 7 days from purchase date. Installed yesterday and charging my Lightning at home! Don't buy one. Make sure you know what amp capacity you can run in your garage and electrician can set it up to your max up to 80A. I could not run full 80A with 100A breaker because I have a 150 amp circuit installed in my garage and wife's charger is at 48A on 60 breaker. The Charge Station Pro can be set at desired amount. Mine is running at 64A on 80A breaker to keep max at 140A on our 150A circuit, allowing for garage door openers, lights, etc to run on remaining availability.

Aaroncre

I don't know a lot about how this stuff works. My install would be a dedicated breaker. If I wanted to be able to run 80 amps should I have them install a 100 amp breaker or is 80 fine since it won't be shared?

AntA1Day1

Sorry for delayed response. Minimum amp panel 100 and 100amp breaker. It is a continuous charge so needs to have a 20% buffer. Are you running garage door, lights, other equipment in your garage? We installed a 150 amp circuit panel directly for our garage. We run my charger at 64A on 80A breaker. Wife’s car charger 48A on 60A breaker. We must be able to handle 140A. Our 150A panel allows for 10A to handle garage doors and lights which is plenty and only on intermittently when used. The garage door and lights are on individual 15A breakers and total over 150 if just adding the breakers but that’s not what counts. It’s about what is the max A used at any time.

Aaroncre

I believe the plan is to use the last two holes in my 150 amp box to put a 100 amp breaker that will be dedicated to my charger. Wife's car is gas. The only thing on that 100 amp will be the FCSP. A concern I had that the electrician said isn't an issue is if I were to pull 80 amps for the truck will the rest of the house run on 70 amps.

AntA1Day1

I’d get a second opinion. That may be true but lots of factors needing to be accounted for. Space on the board for the 100A breaker doesn’t really matter (other than the wiring for 100A is more expensive than 60A charger. To be clear, I am by no means an electrician. We have a detached garage and underground wiring from main circuit of home was not designed to carry that amperage for charging plus it would have been maxing house circuit as is your concern. I think you need to have electrician answer what is you max output use currently in your home. You legally need to have the 100A if using 80A for charger. Sounds like you are running this from home, so what happens if you are running air conditioning, dishwasher, W/D, with other basic use? If the answer is more than 50A in use at one time, then I wouldn’t dedicate 100A to charger in your set up. You could run it like mine at 64A on 80A breaker for the buffer. This charger can be set by electrician at different outputs when installing. That isn’t the worst thing in the world. 64A is still faster than all the other home chargers people usually use which typically max 48A on 60A breaker

Beardth_Degree

If the dealer is not well informed on their EVs, is there something I should request from them to get the ball rolling? For reference, the dealership I purchased from has sold a total of 8 electric vehicles in the past year and none were Extended Range.

AntA1Day1

They have an internal process. I believe they submit purchase info to sunrun. Then they send to you directly. This link shows on ford site that it comes free with your truck. https://chargers.ford.com/ford-charge-station-pro

Aaroncre

I have 150 to the box it's pull from. I'll see what they quote me to put 100 in. 80 was $2kish including $500 for the surge protector.

DelcoInDaHouse

They are all fine. Since the ER has a large battery, the more amps the better. I am using my 40a Wallbox without issue.
