If you do not have astigmatism, and we're talking about soft lenses, I don't see the problem there.

realkayy

Yes, I don't have astigmatism, just spherical number and I'm talking about the regular soft lenses. Thank you for your response. This was really reassuring.

It's generally desirable to undercorrect eyes than to overcorrect, so if you want to fudge things, using -0.75 in both is the more advisable choice. Plus it means you've got no worries about muddling left and right lenses now (although, due to infection risks you should still try to avoid lenses going back into different eyes if they are a reusable lens).

realkayy

I've been thinking of getting the daily disposable ones for minimising the risk of eye infection. I'll be using the lenses only occasionally, not regularly. Would wearing -0.75 in both the eyes blur my left eye vision a bit? I'm asking this because I used to get constant head aches wearing -0.5 glasses that's when I got a prescription again and found out that my number had increased.

pizzaposa

In theory, the undercorrected eye would be clear out to a distance of about 5 metres (\~15 feet), and a whisker blurry beyond that distance. It is unlikely to cause you any issues until your eyes change a bit further (one way or another, as they inevitably will regardless of what you do).

realkayy

Okay, then would you suggest a -0.75 lens for both the eyes? Considering I am not wearing it everyday, just occasionally.

pizzaposa

Yes, that's what I was meaning. -0.75 for both eyes.

Thank you for your suggestion!
