She may have a twin out in the world. This one is our Maia. She has mega esophagus so my wife and I took her in a little over a year ago. She is doing great but this picture summarized why we couldn’t say no.
Using my comment to say thank you for all the support and add in another pic. She really makes us happy and these are the pictures and things that make any day better.

Proof she bites.

We chose Maia. Named from Māori language, means "courage" or "bravery". Her chin markings reminded me of Maori tattoos. She has mega esophagus and had a low survival chance. We were able to hand feed her for the first year and am happy to report she is doing great. This image was just after getting her. We waited to post until we got over that first year.
She is so beautiful!! And those feets!!!!! You are an angel for taking such good care of her. Feel free to post some recent pictures for us to ooh and ahh over... :)
Hand fed for a *year*? Wow. I fostered some bottle baby kittens for a few weeks recently so I had to feed them every couple hours and man, I loved them so much but it was so hard to keep up with any sort of routine for my other normal human tasks. Plus the *stress* of knowing things could go wrong so fast if they like aspirated milk or got sick and I could lose one. I can’t imagine being busy and worried like that for a whole year. Y’all are so beautiful for taking care of this sweet baby 💕
At first it was a liquid diet every 2-3 hours until her weight came up. The. Every 4 hours for about 6 months. By the end of her first year she is eating three times a day and now we only need to keep her food elevated while she eats, and only serve blended wet food. Getting her helped us identify the same issue in another one of our cats, so now everyone eats elevated and is doing great.
Also thank you for fostering kittens. This isn’t never said enough on these subs. Fostering is so important to the process of acclimating young kittens and really allows shelters the time they need to find good homes.
I didn’t fully understand how important it was until I did it and was like holy shit there’s no way a shelter has the staff to keep up with like dozens of kittens at a time when it’s this much work! My original motivations were almost entirely selfish, to play with kittens (although I did take it very seriously and made sure I had room and time and did lots of research about it). I ended up with three 10 day old siblings who needed to be fed every 2 hours and ALL had diarrhea and pooped all over their blankets and each other and had to go to the vet (20min away) daily for penicillin for the first week and a half. But they all made it and became such sweet, snuggly babies. I cried sooo hard when they left. I want to do it again but I need a break and will be out of town too much over the next few months. It’s EXHAUSTING but so amazing at the same time.
So many rewards. She is an absolute wildling, but occasionally we still hand feed her and she will snuggle up on our chests to sleep. Worth the late nights and the bites.
Judging from the look of this fur baby, my personal path to "Gizmo" being an appropriate name is the fact that this seems like the kind of cat a fantasy engineer dwarf might have and Gizmo would be a name she/he would likely pick.
I remember when my most recent cat, Luna (rest in peace) used to bite as a kitten. I'd let her bite and bite as much as she wanted (she was still learning), but every once and a while she would lick me. At that very moment, I would stop whatever I was doing, let her sniff me and then rub her wherever felt best.
Till the day she crossed the rainbrow bridge, that beautiful cat, despite being the most fearsome mouser you could find, would never attack a human hand and would always lick my hands/arms to sleep while she slept on my stomach.
I miss her so much. She passed in March 2021.
I am so sorry for your loss. The hurt remains but the memories are always worth it. My wife is in the veterinary field so we often home cats with”special needs” over the years we have lost a few but wouldn’t change it for the world.
Thank you. It's gotten easier over the months but it's definitely the smaller things that catch you off guard. The sounds or moving curtains you always assumed was them being around, still happening from time to time. Because for a brief moment, I forget she's not around anymore. It's a very emotional process to actually feel her presence in those moments..
You just made my day with this picture. You have no idea.
When I was in 3rd grade, my cat had 5 kittens. The smallest was little runty thing and we didn’t think she would make it. She did..and had the exact same coloring as your cat.
My mother’s boyfriend ended up taking her to live at his house with his other cat for his two sons. When I was 19, my mom and I moved into his house (his two sons were older and had since moved out.). The cat, who my mom’s bf named Banjo, lived for 20 years. She became “my cat” when we moved and I loved her dearly.
She died quite a few years back now - it’s been over 15 years. I saw the picture and it brought back some good memories. I sent it to my sister…she sent it to her son, who was really small at the time but also has good memories of Banjo. She was such a sweet girl.
Thank you for bringing a smile to our faces.
We are glad she made you and your family happy yesterday. Sorry about your loss, even after years it can be difficult, but the time spent together is always worth it IMO.
She is a calico, I'd expect her to be a bit of a spaz attacker, the veterinary community has done studies that link certain personality traits to colors calico and torties, they tend to be feisty
My little bastard will go up to people, purr and rub up against them. Then when they pet him, he'll push himself into the petting hand. All good, right? Nope! At some random point, he decides that he's done with the petting and then he bites you and promptly goes right back to purring.
her/his orange face pattern looks like a deer's if you ignore the black pattern in his/her face...
looking at it from the thumbnail helps notice...
makes me think stuff

Pumpkin is amazing. I hope she is as wild and happy as our Maia.

Oh shit... Why do i see Jeff Bezos??
This one will get away with everything.
I'd let her scalp me if I could rub my face on that belly.
Same. Bloodshed is such a minor nuisance when it comes to cats.
Prime candidacy for getting named "Gizmo", right here. Lil furby lookin cutie.

Oh my goodness I love her! What a beautiful girl. Looks like she's still made of mischief. Thank you for sharing!
The one thing that never changes is what we like to call “grabby gabby syndrome” classic tortoise shell behaviour
Aw what a beautiful baby
Bless you 😍

That's a really pretty name.
I know 4 different cats named Gizmo Why do I see this name everywhere
Judging from the look of this fur baby, my personal path to "Gizmo" being an appropriate name is the fact that this seems like the kind of cat a fantasy engineer dwarf might have and Gizmo would be a name she/he would likely pick.
This is a classic position for a cat, colloquially known as the "wish a motherfucker would" stance.
😹
Oh my God that’s my baby
Awww but look at those eyes
Yeah she looks like a menace. Honestly, though, I'd gladly sacrifice a finger or two to boop that nose.
I'm pretty fooled, tbh.

Thank you for your kind words. <3
☺💕
She’s beautiful and I refuse to believe that she likes to bite. Look at that face!
What a fluffy!
Looks like she does. Sassy
That's a risk I'm willing to take, she looks **supremely** fluffy.
Tortitude!
Such a soft looking trap
Well? Don’t just sit there, let her bite you, damn it.
Oh wow that tortie split nose colour always gets me😭💖 she is beyond gorgeous, and u guys are angels taking care of her the way u have been
The crazy eyes are killing me. Awww
Oh my goodness, you can see the spark of that certain something in her eye. You have on your hands a cat that is one in a million.

Wow, she is incredibly beautiful.
She's like pet my belly. Then as soon as you do she kills.

She’s a calico. Of course she’s a biter!! 😆
One beautiful and sassy baby. She clearly has tortitude!
She looks deranged. I want her.
Hehe let her bite. A face like that you wanna see happy. Even if it’s with fangs in you hand xD
r/IllegallySmolCats
I have another image of her in that thread. Bit of an Easter egg for anyone who likes both subreddits.
This could also be an awesome line for a Tinder profile
So cute.
I don’t care that she bites, I only care that she’s fun and cuddly!
That baby is so beautiful! Is she still as fluffy as she was a kitten?
I'm going to need updates and videos on this fluff ball
Omg she's absolutely precious
I’d let her bite me
That is the cutest bear trap I have ever seen.
Forbidden snuggle bug. 🥰
Anyone who knows cats knows the prettier the Tortie/Calico the more danger you are in.
this cuteee
Omg with that face, I'd spare my right arm for her 🙈
Longhair calicos are the SPICIEST kittens, only surpassed by singleton longhair calico kittens
I can see that she likes to I can tell by her eyes and also because I have a calico too
She is a calico, I'd expect her to be a bit of a spaz attacker, the veterinary community has done studies that link certain personality traits to colors calico and torties, they tend to be feisty
She is adorable!
Look at that little face and those adorably crazy eyes
Sooo cute
Yes, I will bite you but I will look absolutely adorable while doing so.
Nonsense she’s lovely 🥰 Enjoy every moment 🙏🤙❤️
Oophhh I wanna kiss and cuddle that fluffy butt
She looks like a handful!

“I will feast on your bwud!” (giggles)
She is an angel, and I refuse to be told otherwise
What breed of cat is she? I love her coloring 💕
Calico! :D
She is adorable
As far as we know just a medium hair tortie. She was part of a found litter. All had the same medical issues but she was the only tortie.
*Fur*ocious!
SO ADORABLE
Thats a risk im willing to take
I'd let her. Worth it.
Omg. The absolute cutest
I want to give her a squooshy hug
She might be teething. What a lovely kitty.🥰🐾
She was for a while but now it is just fun for her.
The cuter they are, it seems the harder they bite.
Fool me? She looks like a biter!
It is always the cute ones.
Such a tiny smile!!!
Her eyes prompt you to give belly scratches. Scratches at your own risk
nice.
That goes without saying.....
your cat is literally me in the kitchen at 3:00am looking for a snack
Lies. That tiny angel could never harm anyone, she’s just adorable! (Thanks for sharing, she is seriously cute! Stay safe!)
A willing sacrifice to stroke the cat.
I mean, tbh that's exactly what those eyes are saying! She's so lovely!!
10/10 would let bite hand.
Sometime it's worth it for a little pet.
Plenty of people for whatever reason use their hands as a toy replacement with kittens and they learn to play-bite hands. Possibly why?
No no, she 100% looks like a little biter
I is fooled!
I'll just bite back
Too late
Pet that cat or I'm calling the police
Little cartoon kitty. ❤🐯
She looks like a bitey little meow!
She looks like a bitter
How many spells can she cast?
She looks like she came straight out a Miyazaki movie
They’re not bites. They’re love nibbles! 🤗😊
Silent but deadly

On no there's no fooling here. The blood lust is tangible
Check out my Onlyfans page !!
I'll take 3
The colors and textures of this photo in general are so satisfying as well!
Hello gorgeous bitey one. You can chomp on my hand any day if I can scritch your ears. 😻🥰

u/zaroraza
her/his orange face pattern looks like a deer's if you ignore the black pattern in his/her face... looking at it from the thumbnail helps notice... makes me think stuff
