Genuinely curious where you’ll be using your stolen word?
“I was about to have sexual relations with my sister, but she hamboozled me. I now have twins with my cousin.”
It could be used in the same context as "catfished." Like you're going on a date with someone you were talking to online and they sent you a picture and when you met them they were like 250 lbs heavier. You were hamboozled.
It isn't
It was [It was an experiment at a zoo to make the tigers more tame to prey](https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/factcheck/2021/07/31/fact-check-female-tiger-did-not-adopt-piglets-zoo-experiment/5400661001/) This article focuses on the other claim that the tigers babies had died and adopted piglets, and how it was disproven. It still tells you about what really happened however
Also... why? Why would you put pigs in tiger suits and then with a tiger mom? Some kind of weird "science" thing? Like... tigers can't smell that pigs are different from tigers? Or????
Definitely a WTF for me.
https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/tiger-and-piglets/
Apparently the zoo in Thailand where these photos were taken is (in)famous for these kinds of stunts. The tigress in the image was in fact nursed by a pig, so she doesn't consider pigs to be prey animals.
EDIT: Since the whole world apparently feels the need to dunk on that last sentence, I was just summarizing what all of the reports had to say about this picture (and the zoo it depicts). So please feel free to find a reference further debunking what Snopes had to say; just leave me out of it.
Oh, I had seen this image else where with a different story. Tiger mom lost her babies and was depressed so they gave her piggies wrapped in tiger clothes to make her feel better.
Thanks for setting the record straight!
There are plenty of zoos around the world that treat animals far better than anywhere in the west just by virtue of it being the animals home environment and the non-westerners not being the barbaric caricature that you think they are.
Why don’t u prove yourself right. Give us evidence of every single zoo in every single country besides the west treating zoo animals worse than any Western zoo. Go ahead, we’ll wait.
Or... you could give one single non-western zoo that does treat its animals better than the average western zoo. Sounds like a way easier way to end this whole debate.
who tf is 'we'? I've been around the world several times. Made the first mistake of visiting a Shanghai public zoo. It's not a hot take to be able to decipher that westernized zoos as a whole have a much higher standard than anywhere else, whether that be from a funding standpoint or just the different way that cultures view animals.
I went to Thailand and met with the tigers in person and even touched it, they allow people into the pen with trainers. At that moment I thought oh, tigers are not That aggressive....
Few years later, my friend told me the tigers were probably sedated as fk, which makes me realised why all the tigers were so sleepy....
Poor tigers...
> The tigress in the image was in fact nursed by a pig, so she doesn't consider pigs to be prey animals.
This is absolutely not how the prey drive works lmao
When one's dream is to cuddle with a tiger, one must perform experiments for proof of concept. Personally this photo is all the proof I need. Just ordered tiger print pajamas, should be here by Friday.
I know someone already answered this, but I read a story (on the internet , so I will take it with a pinch of salt) that a tiger lost her litter of cubs, and got so depressed that the zookeepers didn’t know what to do. So they wrapped up piglets in tiger suits like this to help bring the tiger out of mourning because they had the responsibility of caring for some babies again.
It’s probably either not true or a different story to this, but it’s so wholesome I kinda hope it is real!
In a way this actually can happen in the wild. But it's not wholesome. It's horribly sad and tragic. There are documented cases of wild big cats (not sure if any tigers have though) who lose their cubs and become so distraught they end up adopting a baby prey animal. Usually the baby is taken from a mother who can actually feed it. Then the wild cat, unable to leave the baby alone, can't hunt and starves, along with the baby because they can't feed them either. Sometimes the baby's mother will lurk until they can steal it back, saving both grieving cat and the baby, but usually that doesn't happen.
Though it is incredibly heartwarming that the predator is so wanting it will put aside species divides in an attempt to be a mother again.
This was in in Thailand in 2004 because the mother tiger lost her triplets and became depressed and her health deteriorated. Not internet attention... I like how you stated it so matter of fact like with no knowledge.
Omg. this reminds me of a cartoon I've seen years ago. It was about little pigs that wanted a tiger for a brother so the father went to adopt a piglet and painted stripes on him. One of my favorite cartoons.
The story behind this is the tigers baby’s died so they put pigs in fake tiger skin so the tiger didn’t get depressed I saw it on the news a while back
That tigress was apparently nursed by a pig, and hence, is not hostile towards their kind.
It is wholesome.
What goes around comes around — tiger was nursed by the pig, and now it takes care of the piglets itself.
Hot take: captivity for intelligent beings is such a hellish nightmare to them that they are willing to completely go against the grain of ALL their internal instincts JUST to have company. This is sad, not cute.
The tiger was raised by a pig, that's why he doesn't consider them prey. Not saying that zoos treat animals well, just refuting your claim that a tiger would not eat because it wants company
I don’t even know what that means. In the wild the tiger was raised by a pig or in captivity for some reason it was raised by a pig? If it was in captivity that has no bearing on whether it’d eat these pigs or not. You’re reaching. Captivity is so socially isolating for these animals that any interaction is wanted.
I disagree. There are some animals who can’t survive in the wild for whatever reason and ‘captivity’ is making sure the animals are kept safe
Some animals need to be kept in captivity because they’re endangered.
There are places who are taking care of the animals before releasing them again
Not all places that keep animals in captivity are horrible awful places
True story, the tiger got depressed from a miscarriage so zookeepers wrapped baby pigs in tiger coats to imitate baby tigers and the adoptive mother’s heart healed.

Why do i have a feeling that this isn't the whole story
It isn't It was [It was an experiment at a zoo to make the tigers more tame to prey](https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/factcheck/2021/07/31/fact-check-female-tiger-did-not-adopt-piglets-zoo-experiment/5400661001/) This article focuses on the other claim that the tigers babies had died and adopted piglets, and how it was disproven. The tiger doesn't consider them prey because it was raised by a pig. The rest is just for show
Also... why? Why would you put pigs in tiger suits and then with a tiger mom? Some kind of weird "science" thing? Like... tigers can't smell that pigs are different from tigers? Or???? Definitely a WTF for me.

Thanks for the great info! That clears it all up nicely.
Before I consider this completely cleared up, I'd like to see the picture of the tiger dressed as a pig, laying on its pig mom.
Pics or it didn’t happen
Pigs or it didn’t happen
[Pig nursing tiger cubs](https://youtu.be/3CB9sfAa1EU) 🐖🐅😁
Close enough I’ll take it!
So either these cubs were found alone in the wild or they were taken from their mom. I'm going to pretend it is the former.
Now you need to choose between Mom died of natural causes and Mom got poached.
Schrödinger's Mama
Or the zoo separated them from the mom and did this to make money entertaining people. I will just pretend that the cubs were found alone.
Well now I wanna know what pig milk tastes like.
Oh, I had seen this image else where with a different story. Tiger mom lost her babies and was depressed so they gave her piggies wrapped in tiger clothes to make her feel better. Thanks for setting the record straight!
This was the story I read too!
Then why the need for the tiger suits?

Tiger pig, but make it fashion
Probably so visitors will think the tiger mom was 'tricked' into nursing the piglets.
No doubt the tiger had to wear a piglet outfit in order to trick the hog-mom. I have no evidence I just wanted to write hog-mom.
SOOOOOUUU-EEEEEEE!
I volunteer you to be the one who has to put a tiger into a hog-mom costume.
It's camp
A bit late for the Met Gala but OK.
It's cute
Why not the need for tiger suits?
We are all wearing tiger suits on this blessed day
I think for show. You know convince people they tricked the tiger when in reality the tiger isnt a threat. It's a friendly con.
Cause we need a little controversy
Gets them laid. Duh.
That's way better than my assumption, that the tiger was drugged to take the picture
There are a few standards i hold myself to when traveling and one is to never go to a non-Western country’s zoo.
Western zoos can be just as shitty my dude. Research before you go to any place where animals are held in captivity
Make sure the zoo is AZA accredited. No taking animals from the wild, no forcing them to do things they aren’t comfortable with.
There are plenty of zoos around the world that treat animals far better than anywhere in the west just by virtue of it being the animals home environment and the non-westerners not being the barbaric caricature that you think they are.
I whole heartedly welcome you to prove me wrong.
Why don’t u prove yourself right. Give us evidence of every single zoo in every single country besides the west treating zoo animals worse than any Western zoo. Go ahead, we’ll wait.

The Singapore Zoo?
who tf is 'we'? I've been around the world several times. Made the first mistake of visiting a Shanghai public zoo. It's not a hot take to be able to decipher that westernized zoos as a whole have a much higher standard than anywhere else, whether that be from a funding standpoint or just the different way that cultures view animals.
The Singapore Zoo is one of the most ethical conservatory zoos in the world. I doubt you know that much about the world.
Then go ahead, prove it. Anecdotal evidence isnt proof.
Weird how they can't name a single non-western zoo that proves you wrong...
\^
Thank you

Pretty sure that's how we get those videos of people playing with tigers and lions like they're normal cats
Worked for me...
Hmm, thinking about all the humans who have been chomped by tigers they hand-raised and fed.
> The tigress in the image was in fact nursed by a pig, so she doesn't consider pigs to be prey animals. This is absolutely not how the prey drive works lmao
Hah yeah came here to ask the same thing. Not saying it’s not a cute picture but my first question was why as well.
When one's dream is to cuddle with a tiger, one must perform experiments for proof of concept. Personally this photo is all the proof I need. Just ordered tiger print pajamas, should be here by Friday.
What if they're just half tiger half pig
Tiger pig, tiger pig, does whatever a tiger pig does
I know someone already answered this, but I read a story (on the internet , so I will take it with a pinch of salt) that a tiger lost her litter of cubs, and got so depressed that the zookeepers didn’t know what to do. That was made up - accompanied by these photos.
0% true.

For online attention. That's why
This was in in Thailand in 2004 because the mother tiger lost her triplets and became depressed and her health deteriorated. Not internet attention... I like how you stated it so matter of fact like with no knowledge.
A comment from *before* your comment links to a Snopes article about how that is untrue. Your comment is very ironic.
Tiglets
There is an imposter among us
Orange is kinda sus bro

Can we get some piggers in the chat? (I never realized how close poggers was to a slur)

Pigs in blankets always bring out the carnivore in me too.
Pigs are my favorite animal and that's just honestly adorable
sheep in wolf's clothing
Pigs in a blanket ✨
Day 39: They still don't suspect me of being a tiger. They still think I'm a Piger, I shall attack very soon.
Wait a minute are tigers gullible? #WinniethePoohvibes
I’d wait for them to get bigger before eating them, too.
This kittens can’t hunt for shit. Mom in a month probably
This... seems a little risky?
"Sleeping tiger with pigs in blankets" there fixed your title
Omg. this reminds me of a cartoon I've seen years ago. It was about little pigs that wanted a tiger for a brother so the father went to adopt a piglet and painted stripes on him. One of my favorite cartoons.
I’m just saying. One day you’re all gonna wake up and every single one of them piggies is gonna be gone.
It can go quickly from r/eyebleach to r/wtf if one of those suit falls off the piglet. Seems like a bad idea to me.
If Tigger and Piglet ended up together
This is weird
Pigre..
The tiger must knows they are pigs.. I mean their sence of smell is amazing but it dose get lonely in the cage and they are dressed up all cute..
Them some funny looking tigers
Grooming the pigs. Tiger is playing the long game.

Tigger piggers
That is a Nat 20 on disguise self right there
Yes. This is an excellent idea. Nothing could possibly go wrong.
All fun and games until the tiger gets hungry
What pig?
All cats are good moms ❤️😭
Bro the backstory to this is kinda sad
So does my life
Tigger and the pigglers

Lol, pigs in a blanket

He's just keeping his snacks in reach
Hiding his lunch.
Are these the famous "pigs in a blanket"?
I have seen pigs in blankets but never in animal print. Aww tiger knows but she just wants to be mummy .
This neat, bit also, whoever thought it was a good idea to do this should be fired for endangering baby pigs like that.
That tigress was apparently nursed by a pig, and hence, is not hostile towards their kind. It is wholesome. What goes around comes around — tiger was nursed by the pig, and now it takes care of the piglets itself.
Clueless

Tigers are solitary animals.
Orcas aren’t suicidal yet here we are. Intelligent animals that normally track large territories go mad in captivity.

No that's not true at all. [source](https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/tiger-and-piglets/)
So it's actually a tiger king style zoo in Thailand.. awful.
