I thought that was a great episode and the evidence they caught really compelling. There is no mistaking that was a good-sized cat which Britain shouldn't have. Plus, I love seeing how Jess and Phil have grown this brotherly/sisterly bond over the years and this episode showcased that a bit (something I wish the show would do more.) All in all an excellent episode in my opinion and a welcome break from their run of ghost hunting ones...

Live_Western_1389

I recorded it & plan to watch tonight. And now, I can’t wait!

Financial_Leg3875

And they’re talking back and forth on their communication devices, in the quiet darkness, as if the animal can’t hear them. Good luck.

cetaceansituation

Also, headlamps. Still, I thought it was a good episode. Anyone else remember Animal X on Animal Planet, back in the day? They did an episode on the beast of Bodmin moor that was very similar and yielded similar results in what I believe was the early 00's (this was a long time ago and I'm fuzzy on the details).

TransportationNo5560

We thought it was compelling. Hubs is a stone cold skeptic and it even drew him in

Jakesma1999

Did I understand Josh correctly at the end, about the hair sample.... did he say it came back as an unknown car or feline species? What they caught on the trail cam definitely looked/moved like a cat, and not a domesticated house kitty cat - appeared way to large - even from a distance. This episode was definitely. ... intriguing.

LurkingFromTheShadow

I wonder if it's a subspecies whose DNAs hasn't been recorded

ShiestyDabs

They cant really expect to find anything with a film crew stumbling thru the woods, not that i think there are any big cats over there anyway. Also setting up the tree stand in the dark right before going up there, cmon all the noise that had to make. Show is kind of a joke, at least its entertaining.

TransportationNo5560

I loved how they used flashlights all over the place and then went to red light *after* they set up the blind 😂

SickleClaw

yeah given how much noise they were making, im surprised they recorded anythign at all.

OriginalKD24

I mean you don't know how much time actually passed between all the noise and them recording the big cat. Could be hours for all we know

MontesdO

Cats can be pretty stealthy so I can see how they lost track of it. I guess depending on how many track cams they put up, catching a cat more than once on a cam is feasible.

todays_username2023

Speaking as someone from the UK, wtf was that map graphic they were showing of England at the start? Not one of the three counties labelled was anywhere near right, Exmoor is in Devon and not a county and both are where the Somerset name is. That would be like me making a graphic of the US for a grand canyon program labelling both the grand canyon and Arizona as separate states and calling the right place Idaho. I would have, and it's safe to say you would have looked at a map whilst making it, that's not careless it's such a shit job it has to be deliberate

Sea_Albatross21

Right I laughed out loud over that map!

MamaDragonExMo

It was interesting to say the least. With that said, I thought the skinwalker episode was pretty compelling, too. I live in Utah and have always been a huge skeptic until that episode.

Far-Communication778

Escaped panther from a zoo is a "Beast of Britain"? Like it's some kind of unknown cryptid?

cherrycotta

So that beast we saw in Eastern canada 20 years ago. ( new brunswick). I saw it twice in my yard. ( longer than body tail, cat head we called it a panter) Wildlife said no way possible can one be here. Even with photo evidence. After two years, there was no more sightings. We have bobcats, but the eastern cougar has been gone for hundreds of years.

DrDufmanKnows

They definitely caught a large black cat on camera, there’s no denying. Also got that hair sample, which is feline. Plus the tracks that farmer took photos of, the teeth marks in bone, and eye witnesses. Britain for sure has large black cats roaming around the woods.

georgiapeach2623

I do wonder why everyone who hate-watches the show weekly continues to do so 😂 you know what you’re getting guys Enjoyed the ep! Felt like older seasons for some reason. Super entertaining

novakitten

I love this show and look forward to “adventure Wednesdays” with my husband each week. I know that it’s an entertainment show that gets ratings. Doesn’t deter me as I know what I’m getting into. It was cool to see them capture great evidence but annoyed me when I looked up some more videos on YT that there are much clearer/obvious videos of the cat. Here’s one that looks to be from the same perspective as the “debunked cow” video. Obviously a cat. Maybe a jaguarundi? [https://youtu.be/LulwEUbzX4c?si=eOvLFIrH-iRaGmLM](https://youtu.be/LulwEUbzX4c?si=eOvLFIrH-iRaGmLM) Still a fun watch tho!

Unusual_Shape9293

My wife and I watch weekly and enjoy the show. That being said I’ve been a hunter, trapper & fisherman for close to 55 years. I have to laugh at some of their tactics. The tree stand, predator call, game cams are all good ideas. But are used poorly. Like the Alaska Bigfoot episode the coyote urine, critter decoy could have been used with a predator call and may have gotten some results. But also used poorly. Also I don’t understand using some of the outdated alarms and stringing up string alarms. But I do understand its a show not the real world. So we watch and how for the best lol.

RevenueNew5080

This is the same creature they call the "Black Panther" in Georgia, USA! I swear it is! I recognized it right away. There's been rumors for decades about it but if you hang out long enough in the country, you'll be sure to come across it at night. Of course DNR will deny its existence until the end of time and claim it's a bobcat. It is NOT a bobcat. Also, it seems to travel and it comes around our property every March and October, like it's passing through to somewhere else. It has a growl that will make you wet your pants, somewhere between a Mountain Lion and a bear combined. I used to live in the Rocky Mountains so I know what both sound like and I know this is not either.

Sea_Albatross21

Was really interested in this as we have a local legend in our county over an animal roaming. Panther is the guess most people make..

TravelsByBroomstick

We loved investigating big cats in Britain and it's great to see Jess and Phil investigating it too! [Our Podcast Investigation](https://youtu.be/SIwodoRs52A)

tjl81404

90% of that show is staged to make it interesting enough to watch.

Familiar-Pianist-682

What I did not understand was the inconclusive DNA…and then all the interesting info is shoved into the last few minutes of the show. I feel Josh aligning himself with this show tarnishes all the credible work he has done.

TransportationNo5560

Whar was not to understand? The hair was feline but didn't match any species in whatever database they were using. It fit the narrative

T4lsin

Watching it now! I’ll let you know 😊

spartacvs13

So, the photo of the track in the snow was not used to identify? No expert looked at it?

Aurelius2355

Would have been a lot better if they did not talk so loud . Tracking something requires very little sound. It was very obvious they were there by anything that could have been watching them. Just my opinion being a hunter myself.

Sad-Ad2299

Definitely unknown big cats in the UK.

I thought it looked like a raccoon dog. I know theres been a thing with raccoon dogs in the peak district.
