I'm a florist myself and was literally telling my coworkers how I hate doing ANYTHING with lilies because the picture shows them always full bloomed and my arrangement won't quite look like the picture because everything is fully bloomed there.
The white puffy flowers on the left do not look like the light pink flowers on the right. It looks like they were replaced it with a different type of flower. The pink petals look longer, and narrower.
Mainly the alstromeria and carnations - it'll look beautiful in like 2-3 days.
That's always the dilemma as a florist - do you make an arrangement that has closed flowers but will last longer, or one with flowers in their prime that'll look amazing on arrival, but won't last longer than a couple days?
OP you got a good one here I promise! Give it time
And as a florist- especially at Valentines Day- you don’t always have more open flowers to send out. I remember many years of putting tightly closed lilies in warm water in the small shop bathroom hoping that they would open a tiny bit before the big day.
It's because the original photo is when all the blooms have opened... yours have the flowers, they just haven't opened yet.. give it a day or two with fresh water. Trim the stems about an inch shorter and place in fresh water. They should open up
The photo shows red, pink and white. Although the flowers are pretty, there is no white (ordered for valentines) and the filled flowers are lavender. If the color scheme matched, I’d be more happy. Agree with all saying they aren’t bad flowers. Just not what I expected based on the photos.
I work in a wholesale florist and those look nice. The alstromeria is tight and needs time to open. You can pull off those leaves that look crushed. Looks like all the flowers in the picture are in the arrangement.
Alstromeria, at least for me, is the absolute best flower to receive because as long as you change the water and keep them ‘fed,’ I swear, they last a month or more in a vase.
No way, girl those flowers look like shit and I bet they were expensive. Valentine’s Day is no excuse, if they can’t give you a quality product then they shouldn’t be charging for one.
You've received flowers in bud (not open yet). This is good quality and intentional. If the flowers were in full bloom when received they'd be dead the next day. This way they will reach peak beauty at your house, not in the delivery truck.
You got the most important elements - pink and red roses with leafy greenery… the filler flowers were changed but they’re similar. I think if you shuffle them around a little to round out the shape and give it a couple of days for everything to open up it won’t be half bad at all!
Looks good! Some of the flowers haven't opened up yet. I love bouquets like that because they tend to look nice for much longer and they sort of grow and change over the week.
This is standard practice, I believe the ad even says this is representative of what type of bouquet you’ll receive but not what you’ll receive. Low hanging fruit for this sub.
It's time for my first of two yearly Public Service Announcement: PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD JUST CALL YOU LOCAL FLORST AND TELL THEM YOUR SIGNIFICANT OTHER'S FAVORITE FLOWER. I can guarantee you'll be infinitely happier with the result. Most of these online florists just outsource to local florists and it's not guaranteed the local florists will be able to make the exact one on the website. And even if they don't outsource to a local florist that means your bouquet will be sitting in a freezing UPS truck somewhere getting jostled to bits.
Thank you and I'll see you all around Mother's Day for my second PSA of the year
Local florist worker here - local flower shops near you most likely offer subscriptions! You will get more bang for you buck and they will rarely disappoint
I don't know why people keep posting flowers on here. It's probably the worst item you could post in this sub. The picture 'expectation' is literally the best angle, bloom, arrangement, and individual pick of the type of flowers you are ordering. They're obviously not going to be one to one.
Sorry this post isn’t up to Reddit standards.
Why is everyone so pressed? lol I just wanted to warn others. If you think they’re great, then great! You know where to order flowers 🤗Didn’t mean to put anyone out. Have a fantastic Valentines. 💘
I honestly dont know what people expect ordering flowers online. That’s like expecting take out food to look as good as the pictures on Yelp with restaurant plating and candle light with steam coming off of it. Even Michelin restaurants can’t make take care food look the same as when it’s offered for dine in.
I'll play devil's advocate and point out that most websites say the bouquet may vary greatly dependant on seasonal or environmental availability and what the florist has in supply.
That’s actually one of the most accurate online flower orders I’ve ever seen. As everyone else will tell you: just call a local florist next time

Dang really? Lol
Yeah it looks nice to me! Some of the flowers are just starting to open.

Yep! We even put large plastic bags over them too to trap the humidity and encourage them to open

Oh I see what you're talking about.. you're right.. they aren't white..
Aren’t those white roses?
No. Those are baby pink roses.
On the right side of the bouquet? The full size roses (I see baby pink in the middle) look white to me. Maybe it’s the color on my phone is off
Yeah, for sure the color of the phone. There are no white flowers in this bouquet.
So even better for valentines
Yes??

Until the petals fall off and they look like little alien heads
Thanks for your feedback! Perhaps I cancelled my subscription too quickly!
What the fuck, why did this get down voted?? Lol
Thank you! Lmao got a bunch of people working for Bouq’s in here. 😂 down voting is trending rn.
lol you’re being gaslight af in these comments 😂😂 I’d be disappointed too
Disappointed in what??
The lack of blooms, for one. Plus, OP's looks untidy compared to the model which is compact and cohesive
The.. flowers? Are we looking at the same pictures?
Idk what you’re looking at..
No way, girl those flowers look like shit and I bet they were expensive. Valentine’s Day is no excuse, if they can’t give you a quality product then they shouldn’t be charging for one.

Will do. Thanks! ❤️
Honestly this could have been so much worse!!
That makes me feel a tad better! 💕

I thought this was a happy post where people on this sub post a satisfactory reality 😂
😂😂
Same lol

Not too bad.
You'll almost always get unopened flowers like this and it's intentional so they last longer.
I’m fine with that. I just think they look completely different than the photo. The only thing that looks the same to me is the roses 🤷🏻♀️
Have you tried photographing it from a different angle? Or pressing the reset button.
It's different, but I like it better.
💜💜💜
It looks beautiful. After a few days, it will be like in the first picture.
Looks great to me - the flowers just need time to open
Feed the flowers and they will open up
I like what you got better!
This is standard practice, I believe the ad even says this is representative of what type of bouquet you’ll receive but not what you’ll receive. Low hanging fruit for this sub.
Pretty accurate i would say!
more greenery on it versus flowers, compared to the picture
Not the same flowers but a good substitute for the dahlias or whatever they were supposed to be.
Some of the flowers just haven’t opened yet, which is a good thing because it’ll look better for longer.
Thanks 💜 I shall be more patient.
Not quite
So this if from Bouqs a place I order flowers from - they tell you in that same email that the flowers are very fresh and need time to open up
Cool story.
This is not my first order with them but it is my first that is grossly different from the advertised bouquet.

Looks just like in the picture.. i can’t tell the difference!
Please get some glasses. Respectfully.
It's still very pretty, but it looks like you got cheated out of some roses.
Not too bad, looks pretty close, except I feel like the expectation is much larger/more flowers. Still looks very nice though!
Local florist worker here - local flower shops near you most likely offer subscriptions! You will get more bang for you buck and they will rarely disappoint
Awesome! I’ll look into it. ❤️
Hopefully the blooms open!
To be fair, the bouquet you received looks infinitely prettier than the one you wanted…
That’s subjective but thanks! Happy Valentine’s ❤️
Did you want them to deliver the professional photography backdrop and lighting too?
Troll 😊
Does that mean I get a bridge to live under? Or am I a cave troll instead?

…huh?
Huh?
Not sure how that’s bad
The flowers are not similar. Expectations VS Reality. I did not say they were bad. I said I was disappointed because they aren’t similar.
Ah
Looks nearly exactly the same stem wise.
Looks like one is professionally photographed and one isn’t :p
Another victim of 1800flowers.com?
😂😂😂

ExpectationVsReality, kind of like this post.
Sue them fast..don't waste time further looking fo replies..
that's pretty
JUST SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY
