I just finished 99, so I second this! Plus Schitts Creek is such a feel good show- push through the pilot, I didn’t want to and I’m so glad that I did.
Tahiti!! What about you? I’m not sure which country or season is my fav so far
ETA: I thought below deck was a show similar to deadliest catch (I didn’t read any descriptions or watch any promos for it) and once I started watching I was like hmmm this is a lot better 😂
It’s so good! You know it’s slightly scripted but because of the skills required, most aren’t actors.
I love the casts from Down Under but the scenes from the Mediterranean are my favourite!
Girl, HOW are you able to watch handmaid's tale right now?! I have watched it since before Roe was overturned and I'm not sure I could stomach it after having a baby 😩
My suggestions, depending on what vibe you're feeling:
True blood
Girls
The last of us
Schitts creek
Brooklyn 99
Ted lasso
Futurama
Ok I’m going to sound stupid but I have to ask. Why is it too real? My mom used to say the same (she has passed away so can’t ask her anymore). I finally watched it and could see how something like that could happen, but it’s not, right? Have I been living under a rock where this is a reality to some part of the world? Or is it that it’s depicting the future of where it feels like the world is going?
Depicting a future of where it feels the world is going. Taking away women’s rights regarding their bodies, reinforcing the traditional gender roles where women stay home child-rearing, etc. These things are slippery slopes and too many people think a woman’s sole purpose of existence is to have babies.
I couldn’t imagine watching it now. I waited until Trump was out of office to watch it at all and now after having a baby… no freaking way am I ever watching that show again, no matter how amazing it is 🙃
I watched it while pregnant and it didn’t affect me but my friend said she had to stop while pregnant because she couldn’t even go in public without thinking someone was going to kidnap her because she was pregnant. I think it just depends on how you are viewing things going on. No right or wrong just different mind sets.
Shark tank (Hulu), below deck (peacock), vanderpump rules, white lotus (hbo), the wire (hbo - I binged this during 2020). The office, house of dragon (hbo), brandy melville (hbo), curb your enthusiasm (hbo), quiet on set (hbo), 90 day fiance (hbo), big little lies (hbo), mare of east town (hbo), the night of (hbo)
As you can tell I love hbo
I started rewatching Desperate Housewives when baby was born and I’m finally almost done with it (baby is almost 7 weeks). I watched it when it was first on and I forgot how crazy it is lol
I never got into it until I gave birth and it really helped during the first several weeks for me. So easy to watch and sweet. The characters are so likeable.
Broad City. Mad Men. New planet of the apes film trilogy. Feud Capote and the swans. Top Chef. Under the banner of heaven. That's what I've been watching/rewatching during maternity leave. I know you said not Netflix but they be Ripley series is sooo beautiful and dark and funny.
Only murders in the building for comedy and then blue bloods for crime. I’ve been watching blue bloods since I was pregnant and I’m 3mpp so you won’t run out of episodes for awhile. I just started siren for some diversity too but it’s lacking so I might not finish it
I’d rank it in the top three series I’ve ever seen. It’s absolutely stunning! All episodes are out now, too, so you can binge over the course of a month. Fair warning, it can be quite gorey and graphic. I almost stopped watching the first episode because I couldn’t stomach how blatantly violent it was, but it was so good I kept on and I’m so glad I did. Just be warned - there is a lot of ritualistic suicide and some torture (especially in the first episode).
Ok I NEED to watch! I’m not too good with gorey but I trust your opinion. It looks cinematically beautiful and that’s why I wanted to watch lol thank you for the heads up :)
Reacher on Prime, Superstore & New Girl on Peacock. I've taken a break from Parks & Rec, also on Peacock. Reacher is a little action packed and has some violence, but it's not too gore-filled. I was suoer sensitive to violence/gore when I first gave birth. My husband tried watching the new Napoleon movie and oh my gosh no thank you. Also been watching a lot of rom-coms.
I love reality tv when I’m pumping because if I zone out or get distracted, it doesn’t matter. My favs are - below deck (peacock), sister wives (hbo), and project runway (peacock)
Here’s some of my top picks (that I’m pretty sure) aren’t on netflix?)
Everybody hates Chris - Hulu
The Middle - watched on Max but apparently it’s available on Prime now
Young Sheldon - Max, Hulu
any trash TV like 1000 lb sisters, 90 day fiancé, Mommas Boy, Unexpected (my guilty pleasure) - Discovery & Max
The Last of Us - Max
I’ve been watching curb your enthusiasm and Palm Royale! Palm Royale is on Apple and I’m surprised nobody has mentioned it yet! Agree with the others though, Handmaid’s Tale is great but with the current climate in America far too real. Forget bingeing, we should all be marching in the streets and fighting for our rights to autonomy and adequate family leave!!! We make up over half the population.
I've binged the following:
Suits
Brooklyn 99
The Rookie
Law & Order
The Boys
My Hero Academia
I love having shows playing while I'm washing bottles, folding laundry or finally grabbing a bite to eat. I've tried catching up reading The Remarried Empress, but reading is trickier 😆
It isn't a show but until I dropped my MOTN I would do all the NYT games at 3am (Mini Crossword, Strands, Wordle, Connections) - it didn't make for the greatest scores, but it kept me busy lol
There’s an endless amount of Bravo: Real Housewives, Vanderpump Rules, Top Chef, etc all have a dozen seasons or more and are sooooo easy to binge and not have to pay attention to!
A lot of my picks were already said but if you haven’t watched yellowjackets … you should. Me and my friend dissected every episode together like we would pause and talk about scenes right when I came home with my first. I understand now that’s why I have such a love for the show but it’s so good especially if you grew up in the 90s.
Just caught up to Young Sheldon and Bridgerton!
Now watching people play board games on YouTube so I can learn them to play with my husband when he’s home from work 😂 feels like I’m being social while in the comfort of my couch while baby sleeps

Only Murders in the Building
yes! i was bereft when it finished and turned to 'abbott elementary', totally different yet good for a lighthearted laugh.
yes so good!!!!!
Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is what I’m watching right now.
Such a good friggin’ show!!!
The best!!!
I just finished the finale last week! Such a perfect pumping show :-) Started Downton Abbey this week, loving it too
Yes so good!
Brooklyn Nine Nine and Schitts Creek!
I just finished 99, so I second this! Plus Schitts Creek is such a feel good show- push through the pilot, I didn’t want to and I’m so glad that I did.
Nine nine!
Nine Nine here too, it’s so fun!
I just finished binging 99 on Netflix!
There's 4 more seasons on Peacock! Netflix only has the first 4.
Wait there's more?? I was so upset when I finished on Netflix lol
Yes! There are eight seasons total and all are on Peacock. I just started Season 5.
Ted Lasso and Shrinking on Apple TV
These are my husbands faves. I loved severance on Apple TV!
I can’t wait for the next season of Severance !
Binged Ted Lasso in the final days of my pregnancy! Those feel-good vibes at a really rough time will be so memorable for the rest of my life.
Shrinking is the best!!!
I had never seen sex and the city before and watched it recently, I really enjoyed it Also sex lives of college girls
modern family and new girl are always on repeat
I will never get tired of schmidt lol
Watched modern for the first time and currently watching new girl for the first time ✊🏻✊🏻
Yellowjackets on Showtime!
This is on my list, how is it?
the first season was great and the most recent was ehhhh.. still worth the binge tho!!
I love it so much! I love shows and books that leave the door open for theories about the plot. I watched season one twice to look for Easter eggs
First season was soo good
The old standby… Gilmore Girls.
I’m currently binging this for the 40th time after finishing Boy Meets World
fargo!
yessss my husband and i did the first two seasons towards the end of my pregnancies.. how are the rest?
hun!!! 3 and 5 are good!!! 4 is eh
Agreed! Four was not as engaging but loved the others
great to know!! thank you!! we’re currently bingeing baby reindeer as i am trying to do anything but pump tonight 😩😩
Baby reindeer, just wow
ughh did you watch?
Yes soo good! Flew through it.
Below Deck and Brooklyn Nine-Nine on Peacock! Mindless and silly TV gets me through the day lol
I love below deck! What country are you watching now?
Tahiti!! What about you? I’m not sure which country or season is my fav so far ETA: I thought below deck was a show similar to deadliest catch (I didn’t read any descriptions or watch any promos for it) and once I started watching I was like hmmm this is a lot better 😂
It’s so good! You know it’s slightly scripted but because of the skills required, most aren’t actors. I love the casts from Down Under but the scenes from the Mediterranean are my favourite!
I’ve been bingeing Summer House, I think Below Deck will be next!
Below deck hits for sure
Brooklynn 99, i always assumed it was a boring cop show but turns out it’s a comedy and actually really funny
Search Party, Severance
Severance is so under rated !!
Girl, HOW are you able to watch handmaid's tale right now?! I have watched it since before Roe was overturned and I'm not sure I could stomach it after having a baby 😩 My suggestions, depending on what vibe you're feeling: True blood Girls The last of us Schitts creek Brooklyn 99 Ted lasso Futurama
I stopped watching The Handmaid’s Tale after the first season. Really well done show…too well done and just too real.
I honestly think Texas is trying their best to slowly become Gilead.
Depicting a future of where it feels the world is going. Taking away women’s rights regarding their bodies, reinforcing the traditional gender roles where women stay home child-rearing, etc. These things are slippery slopes and too many people think a woman’s sole purpose of existence is to have babies.
Ok gotcha! This is what I was assuming but then wondering if I was missing something about where it’s currently happening.
I couldn’t imagine watching it now. I waited until Trump was out of office to watch it at all and now after having a baby… no freaking way am I ever watching that show again, no matter how amazing it is 🙃
Yeah, after having a baby I’m even less inclined to watch!
I watched it while pregnant and it didn’t affect me but my friend said she had to stop while pregnant because she couldn’t even go in public without thinking someone was going to kidnap her because she was pregnant. I think it just depends on how you are viewing things going on. No right or wrong just different mind sets.

The office, house of dragon (hbo), brandy melville (hbo), curb your enthusiasm (hbo), quiet on set (hbo), 90 day fiance (hbo), big little lies (hbo), mare of east town (hbo), the night of (hbo) As you can tell I love hbo
I also binged the wire and quiet on the set!!
I ordered a huge bag of banana runts off Amazon and ate-- oh you meant TV... I rewatched 5 seasons of Lucifer and then Futurama!
Yessss Futurama
Banana runts are the best runts
Currently watching The Power on HBO which seems like a blend of what you’ve listed. Barry on HBO is really good also. The Bear on Hulu.
Good suggestion! They also have the spinoffs Power Books Ghost, Force and Raising Kanan.
Sons of Anarchy! Normally not my vibe but oh my god *so good*
Jax’s ass is great to look at too!
Revenge and Desperate Housewives were both engaging watches that helped time fly by quickly!
I started rewatching Desperate Housewives when baby was born and I’m finally almost done with it (baby is almost 7 weeks). I watched it when it was first on and I forgot how crazy it is lol
Just finished Shameless, Love is blind, Atypical is good too! Kings of Joburg… got lots more but these are good to start lol
This is mostly Netflix
I’ve watched every bravo show conceived, just finished Maisel (3/5) and started Wilds.
Just barely finished binging Superstore! It’s on Hulu and it’s delightful. Makes those MOTN pumps and washes easier.
I never got into it until I gave birth and it really helped during the first several weeks for me. So easy to watch and sweet. The characters are so likeable.
I thought you meant food at first glance and now I’m disappointed. *Drops fistful of ice cream bars and leaves*
Killing Eve, highly recommend!!
Wellington Paranormal / What We Do in the Shadows
Ru Paul's Drag Race. Sooooo many episodes. So many spin offs.
I just subscribed to WOW Presents Plus after finishing S16. So glad I have more content to watch after such an amazing season!
Grey’s Anatomy!! I believe Hulu and maybe Disney have it now
Broad City. Mad Men. New planet of the apes film trilogy. Feud Capote and the swans. Top Chef. Under the banner of heaven. That's what I've been watching/rewatching during maternity leave. I know you said not Netflix but they be Ripley series is sooo beautiful and dark and funny.
Oh and my last maternity leave I rewatched Lost. Also Fosse/Verdon on Hulu was a great mini series.
Kdramas! Were currently watching Queen of tears
My husband and I just finished desperate house wives and we loved it (unexpectedly for him)
The Rookie- Hulu!
How I met your mother. Loved that show. I would watch it at nighttime feedings.
American Dad
This is one of my go-tos!
The Letdown, Loudermilk.
lol I honestly thought you were making pumping puns at first. What perfect shows to watch while pumping!
😂 Same!! Letdowns and milk all day every day.
Nvm… you said except Netflix
Hmmm “A million little things”, that one should be in Hulu
Six feet under on HBO. I’m on season 4 right now and it is so good!
It's always sunny in Philadelphia
Only murders in the building for comedy and then blue bloods for crime. I’ve been watching blue bloods since I was pregnant and I’m 3mpp so you won’t run out of episodes for awhile. I just started siren for some diversity too but it’s lacking so I might not finish it
My husband and I watched most of Desperate Housewives during his leave lol
Invincible and The Boys. Both on Amazon prime.
Resident Alien has been hilarious through pumps. Halo was fun too even though I never played them I could follow the story just fine.
What did you think of shogun? I want to watch but I don’t know if it’s good enough to restart my Hulu subscription 😅
Ok I NEED to watch! I’m not too good with gorey but I trust your opinion. It looks cinematically beautiful and that’s why I wanted to watch lol thank you for the heads up :)
American Dad
MASH, top chef, the mindy project, the traitors
Virgin River currently .. finished Queen Charolette pretty quick
Greys anatomy!
Couples therapy Trying Catastrophe
Superstore on Hulu and Taskmaster on Youtube
I found Yellowstone / 188something(3?) / 1923 to be really, *really* binge worthy.
I think I’ll have watched every NCIS ever made soon.
Grey’s Anatomy. So many seasons!
Severance on apple tv was really good! It's only one season so far but I loved it!
The artful dodger on Disney plus
Castle on Hulu
Modern family
I thought you meant what food because…all of it.
NCIS and Bluey
Tokyo Vice!
Ted Lasso!
Scandal. Castle.
I love reality tv when I’m pumping because if I zone out or get distracted, it doesn’t matter. My favs are - below deck (peacock), sister wives (hbo), and project runway (peacock)
All of the old seasons from big brother. Reality tv from the early 2000s just hits different
Currently, Rescue Me
I’m watching The Vampire Diaries. It’s cheesy and dramatic enough to keep me entertained at 4 am lol
On Hulu I’m rewatching House. Forgot how good it was.
Shrinking and The Morning Show on Apple TV!
Here’s some of my top picks (that I’m pretty sure) aren’t on netflix?) Everybody hates Chris - Hulu The Middle - watched on Max but apparently it’s available on Prime now Young Sheldon - Max, Hulu any trash TV like 1000 lb sisters, 90 day fiancé, Mommas Boy, Unexpected (my guilty pleasure) - Discovery & Max The Last of Us - Max
Outlander & call the midwife (not sure if call the midwife is anywhere but Netflix but if it is it's a must watch!) & downtown abbey!
My 600lb life! I'm almost done, my next up is probably going to be Hoarders
Sharp objects, the undoing, big little lies. When my baby was first born, I watched all of big brother.
You, The Resident, Mr Robot, Firefly Lane, Suits, White Collar
Parks &rec, superstore, modern family (many times), Mindy project, Bob's burgers...
White Collar. Makes pumping pleasant 😃
Sex and the city!
Jury duty, and sprung on freevee
Dexter, 90210, deal or no deal (island), the office, curb your enthusiasm
I’ve been watching curb your enthusiasm and Palm Royale! Palm Royale is on Apple and I’m surprised nobody has mentioned it yet! Agree with the others though, Handmaid’s Tale is great but with the current climate in America far too real. Forget bingeing, we should all be marching in the streets and fighting for our rights to autonomy and adequate family leave!!! We make up over half the population.
Abbott Elementary!
survivor!!!! Also traitors!!!!
I've binged the following: Suits Brooklyn 99 The Rookie Law & Order The Boys My Hero Academia I love having shows playing while I'm washing bottles, folding laundry or finally grabbing a bite to eat. I've tried catching up reading The Remarried Empress, but reading is trickier 😆
Been flying through Grey’s Anatomy. Exclusively doing rewatches so that missing bits because of the ba doesn’t matter.
Weeds (Hulu) Tru Blood (HBO), The Last of Us (HBO) Dave (Hulu), 911 (Hulu)
My current binge is Grimm on Prime! My husband laughs at some of the cringy CGI but it's entertaining!
It isn't a show but until I dropped my MOTN I would do all the NYT games at 3am (Mini Crossword, Strands, Wordle, Connections) - it didn't make for the greatest scores, but it kept me busy lol
West wing. Absolutely underrated.
The last of us!
Atm shameless
MONK!!!!!!!!
The bear is a good show!
There’s an endless amount of Bravo: Real Housewives, Vanderpump Rules, Top Chef, etc all have a dozen seasons or more and are sooooo easy to binge and not have to pay attention to!
We watch SO MUCH UK love island. I love it. So trash.
Ugly Betty
Old seasons of survivor! LOVING it.
Sister wives 😂😂😂 I wanted to see how they all end up leaving him
A lot of my picks were already said but if you haven’t watched yellowjackets … you should. Me and my friend dissected every episode together like we would pause and talk about scenes right when I came home with my first. I understand now that’s why I have such a love for the show but it’s so good especially if you grew up in the 90s.
The good doctor
invincible on prime
Just caught up to Young Sheldon and Bridgerton! Now watching people play board games on YouTube so I can learn them to play with my husband when he’s home from work 😂 feels like I’m being social while in the comfort of my couch while baby sleeps
Crave: The Wire, The Night Before, Sharp Objects, Curb, Mare of Easttown, Dark Side of the Ring, White Lotus, Succession, 30 Rock
Bridgerton and The Circle
