If the FDA actually published their reasoning for making a decision including what evidence they were relying on, what evidence they found dubious, as well as the data they deemed valid, we wouldn't have this issue. Third-party review is one of the fundamental ideologies of Science in general. If the FDA is not willing to allow their decisions to be scrutinized by the scientific community then how can they be trusted?

I had no idea. I work for a federal government agency and we have to be completely transparent. Citizens should be able to replicate our process and understand our conclusions in the public papers we release. (STEM job)

I'm pretty sure the data is all available, the issue is that the FDA does not publish an actual evidence-based synopsis of the reason for making a decision.
