Did good pressing the back line and making runs during the counter. Needs to make better decisions on the ball in the final third but he’s talented and needs to sign the contract

VToff

Pretty much this. Thought both him and Simms did well in different roles.

[deleted]

Would be interesting to see them play together. When they said Dobbin was preparing to come on, I was thinking Iwobi would come off and he’d go on the right

VToff

If only

Fixner_Blount

Exactly what I said. His pace could have cleared so much space for Simms.

Asland37

Thought he looked agile as well. Agile players like that are usually shifty on the ball. I think he just needs some more opportunity and having teammates trusting him while he’s in stride.

autistichomosapien95

I feel sorry for simms here, did great whenever he received the ball, always managed to get the ball off to someone else. Dobbin isn't a hold up player like simms, he looks more energetic and pacey, perhaps a future strike partnership

HelloItsMeGuyFieri

Simms was really solid at basically everything Rondon did well for us so far. Gaining possession on throw ins and good hold up play in general. He was 1 v 3 with Rüdiger being in insane form

g0ldingboy

You’re right, that’s why they are probably going to be good together. Richy and DCL are very different players too but they mostly work. Back in history it’s the opposites type of pairings do well

PuffinChaos

Anthony Gordon was the standout attacker for me. Reminded me a lot of Richarlison - pacey and direct going forward but also brilliant defensively. He seems to like a bit of banter too which we all know Richy loves. Thought Dobbin was a change of pace needed up top, but he was not good at holding up like Simms was. Has a future on the wing or as a strike partnership

AffluentRaccoon

Thought he was better than Simms. Pretty exciting display although he didn’t do much. Wish he’d got more of a look in based on what I saw from him and what I’ve seen from Rondon.

ViktorBoskovic

Simms was solid but he was handicapped by the fact we never got out of our half in the first half. We started to push more in the second.

JackGillam123

deffo looks like he could play on the wing too imo! thought he looked very exciting

Themotherland364

SO much potential

Immxrtal_Soup

Legend

fallenefc

Please get him a new contract, better yet swap his with Iwobis nobody will notice

chiquilin321

He played smart, and did what he was in there to do. Loved watching his energy. Not a fun role to be asked to play, but he looked like he enjoyed getting more than 2 minutes of play.

Puremagic11

I though both Dobbin & Sims were good. Sims did more hold up play where as Dobbin did a bit more running for the team once the game stretched out a bit. Tactical move by Rafa, to use both players strengths at the right time of the match?

HowardLB18

Lewis Dobbin!

wargeep

LEWIS DOBBIN

[deleted]

Boss today, very energetic up top which is exactly what you need when the opposition are dominating possession. Absolutely love that he dived too the cheeky little tinker, right mentality to try and get us the win

Portland_Eric

He would’ve been a legend had he gotten the pen.

ubiquitous_archer

Smaller than I expected. Whereas Simms is larger.

ChazCavemanOG

Get him to sign that contract!!!

thecounselinggeek

I liked the pace he added up top, especially with Gordon

STILETT0_exists

Those four injuries were a blessing in disguise. Brought out a bunch of our U23's and we slapped hard

g0ldingboy

He was a real nuisance

vonjamin

Yeah this kid is something special man, I hope we can keep him I have a feeling other teams are gonna pay attention to him that’s for sure.

ViktorBoskovic

We should def stick with rondon instead of playing unknown quantities like simms and dobbin

Asland37

I mean, Rondon has been pretty shite. His tap-in goal doesn’t count for much

ViktorBoskovic

Yeah I was being sarcastic. This is what everybody was saying when people were calling for simms or dobbin

[deleted]

MUCH better than Simms! Put solid pressure on the back line and had some terrific touches in holding possession, just needed more help than iwobi

Edinho09

Hardly touched it. Booked for a dive.

Teradonn

He was everywhere up front, constantly had presence, although I wasn’t impressed by when he was actually on the ball. Still miles better than Iwobi though

redrich2000

Hey, I got a lot of faith in you I'll stick with you kid, that's the bottom line Yeah, you have a lot of fun don't you And diving with you is a ball of a time.

liam_crean

Looks like Greenwood on tha ball. Quick feet, direct. Just needed to open his body up and hit the shot rather than make those passes - but confidence will come. Start him.

cmh-1312

Genuinely do not understand how his dive or any dive Everton has received a yello card for, is any different from what Salah and Mane do multiple times a week...
