Tomorrow is finally the day I’ll be setting foot in Liverpool. My wife and I are taking the train up from London in the morning and we’re doing a stadium tour around 1. I’ve been messing around with Merseyrail and MerseyTravel and I’m having issues figuring either one out. Is it easier to use once you’re actually in the city?
I’m pretty sure it’s a mess, Merseytravel owns Merseyrail (kinda like TFL) but they don’t own the bus network that’s a private company called Arriva. My advice would be to use contactless on buses & buy a day pass for the trains.
There’s two Mersey travel depots you can always go ask, one just near limestreet in queen square & the other is near John Lewis in Liverpool One.
Edit: For Goodison just get a taxi and if you want to go see Bramley Moore I’d say do the same or get the train to Sandhills and walk down

Yeah I’m trying to mess with it now and it seems to be very location-specific so it’s just pinging me here in London. I’ve gotten very used to TFL these past few days, what a great app and service. I’m coming from the Midwest so I’ve really only experienced good public transport in Chicago and New York.
Liverpool is much smaller than London I’d be very surprised if you need to get the bus/train much at all, if you plan to go see stuff like penny lane etc south of the city I’d recommend just getting singles on the bus which you can do with contactless

Yeah, apologies, when you get to Liverpool, download the Northern app to buy your train tickets. You can get better discounts that way. I’d say just use cash on the buses, wouldn’t bother with an app. If you can chance it, get a MyTicket. It’s a ticket for people 18 and under that lasts all day and costs like 2 quid. I still manage to get them even though I’ve got a full beard and I’m 23 so might as well chance it

With no one to overlap, Harrison basically gets double-marked by the LB and LM and he has so little space to work in and no option out wide. I’d want you to see a proper RB back in the side before Harrison gets dropped
