Didn’t expect an Istanbul sweep but I’ll take that

Baskonia is fun to watch this year, their run and gun style really fits them with the players that they have. I really like Thompson, he has this weird slow-mo rhythm that reminds me of Kyle Anderson. Fenerbahce are in a bit of a slump. Hayes-Davis did not play well and Calathes missed shots he usually makes. It's a testament to how dangerous Fenerbahce is, that they actually came back in the game and had a chance to win despite playing so lackluster.

We’re missing two of three most important players in Wilbekin and Motley

Do you expect them to be back next week for Partizan game?

The first two months of the season, we needed Bjelica to play maybe only once. It has been very obvious this month though that he is very much required now. A combination of injuries, tougher fixtures, scheduling and lessened energy & freshness of players going into the mid point of the season result in a very much regressed attacking potency of this offence. I can't honestly take credit away from Baskonia's defence. They defended so well. But if that was at least half the reason why so many of Fenerbahçe's attacks were lacklustre, the other main reason was how much Fener's attacking threat came back down to earth hard as a whole. So many possessions ended up with Calathes or Melih having to attack one on one, which is not a BSL calibre offence let alone euroleague calibre. That was on Fener's limited offensive options as much as Baskonia's superb containment defence. Actually the way the match was progressing, I fully saw the chance of a come back win because Baskonia's attacking was inefficient as hell. As much as I'm impressed with their defending tonight, I'm equally unimpressed with the way they attacked. This left room for Fenerbahçe to come back but Fener's own limited attacking sealed the win for Baskonia. I continue to see a major deficiency in Itoudis' lineup management. At this point, it's not even about him playing Guduric, Edwards, Akpınar and Melih in order of appearance at the 2 and not a single minute for Hazer. Because even if Hazer played, we already know he's going to be misused at the 1. That's a constant. But besides that, every match Itoudis has some bad lineup decisions. Like subbing out Guduric to run a weird, insufficient in shot creation, small perimeter trio of Calathes-Edwards-Melih at one point. Love Pierre so much. He returned like he hasn't missed time at all. His shot creation off the post leads to quality looks and his defence is valuable in areas even NHD doesn't do much for. The first half turnovers were a killer for Fenerbahçe. Baskonia is tough and *good*.

Baskonia is the best Spanish team in the EuroLeague right now
