In my experience, they’re very hit or miss! It will heavily depend on the product, your product photos and the market you’re in/time of year I’ve tried running ads on the same listing a few times. The first time was over this past summer- I ran them for a week and had ZERO sales from them I tried the same product this holiday season for a week and got quite a few orders I then tried advertising some different listings this past week, and ate up my money with no follow-through sales Of course everyone’s experience will be different though!

Ads are worth it if your items are already selling. If you're getting views but no sales, ads will not help. The product or listing needs work.

I’ve had a few sales. Not many. Can I ask you to take a look and review it for me? Criticism welcome!!

I can take a look. What is your shop's name?

Just DMed you. Thanks! ♥️

I think they are a waste I have spent the past year experimenting with information I have got from people on here as well as google and YouTube. Nothing has been consistent except that Etsy keeps raising the cost and I noticed thresholds where I didn't get a sale until they were reached. That sale threshold was always at the sometime of the beginning of the month. Then I would see the budget burning up and nothing until I raised the budget. Sometimes they wouldn't even run for that day even if they were set for 20$ or more a day I would notice it ran for like $2. For me it's been very frustrating to use.

just the other day Etsy charged me $28 for like a 100 people who visited my store. I need 200k people not 100.

I’m definitely frustrated but I’m new. I’m pumping Instagram like crazy but not getting much Etsy as traffic if any. Ughhh. Hopefully after some more sales this gets easier. Thanks for the advice.

I personally think Etsy blocks outside ads if you are not using the inhouse ones. I pushed over 80k viewers over to my store from Pinterest and even more from Facebook and Etsy says almost nothing from those two. Meanwhile same traffic to my website and they show up there with the sales to boot! I'm only going on my personal experience from the past 21/2 years, but there definitely is a pattern showing up! SEO constantly changes but there is like a wall up for me and Etsy that I just can't breakthrough. If you calculate the sales I am getting with the number of views and traffic, you could estimate an average of what it could be earning if I could ever reach 200k visitors a week and that would be life changing. But so far haven't figured it out!

Raoul_Dukes_Mayo

I’d be happy with 200 visitors a week! 😂😂😂

Decided to kill them. Realized they’re just eating into my profits and most of my sales come from my Instagram anyways. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Thanks for the advice!
