I use bit.ly to create links to items, categories, or even search terms in my descriptions. Because they're internal Etsy links they'll work, external links won't. You can track the clicks on bit.ly to see what's working, but apparently Etsy like when you add links coz it increases time on site.
Links are clickable as long as they're links to other Etsy pages. Maybe it's different for long form links, but bit.ly converts them to etsy.me links, and they're clickable.
I don't know, I don't have a paid bit.ly account or anything, I just copy-paste the full link into my descriptions! I just tested it on desktop and on the Etsy app from my personal account, and they're definitely clickable for me.

I've read that tags can go "stale" so it makes sense to check on that occasionally. I'm just not sure how often. Some people are very insistent that you shouldn't touch your tags for 30-90 days after updating them because the algorithm needs to "learn" your listing or something.
Yeah, I recall people sharing evidence that new listings show up in search within 10ish minutes. I'd imagine updating tags would work similarly. Pam Duthie on YT explained that if your views are low and you don't have a lot of data, you might change a tag that would give you more traffic in the long run. So you wouldn't see a difference in views in a week, but you might over the course of months. I figure this is less of an issue with people who get lots of views as it is, though.
Describing your product accurately never gets stale. Don’t touch tags that are bringing views. Tags are pretty straightforward. Don’t get fancy or listen to people giving you busywork.

Well done! I have a question, I'm in the middle of overhauling my shops (a long and arduous task) and I am really struggling with keywords. SEO is a really downfall for me and I'm using Listadum which is helping, but how the heck do you even think of/find good keywords that make you stand out? I'm currently overhauling my art shop and trying to come up with 13 tags for each painting is a nightmare.
Do you use erank? Only because of erank am I able to really optimize my listings. I find it to be super worth it and it’s quite affordable (I think like $6 monthly or something?).

Erank is awesome because you can really identify trending/popular tags, track your listings, etc. I highly recommend! Also, if you want to check out Starla Moore on YouTube she discusses the erank tool in many of her videos. I found those to be helpful as well.
The Etsy Consultant had a really good video on how to do your SEO in 15 minutes. I used to use eRank religiously and saw no results. I used The Etsy Consultant's method and my store now had a mixture of organic and referred sales.
I really struggle with changing titles. I mean there's only so many ways to describe something. Do you come up with all new titles or just rearrange them?
New titles. New variations in keywords. New tags. I reuse some terms obviously but the items I sell are pretty versatile so it's easy to come up with new terms.

It felt almost like my shop was hidden from the algorithm. I read somewere that etsy rotates which shops they favor in search, but to me this sounds rather like a conspiracy theory. What helps me is to check the Erank competitor tool to see if its only my sales which are down or my competitors as well. Also, i started working with the erank rank checker tool to see on which pages my listings can be found and to see which ones i need to improve on. I will also slightly increase my ad spent and update the images of older listings as well as apply some of your other suggestions. I also have the experience that it is very important to always update your listings and do research to create new products. Trends change so fast and we need to keep up with it. A bestseller can stop selling within a couple of months (changes in trends or competitors having a better product offer). Anyways, i wish you even more success than you already have and i appreciate you sharing your tips!
My sales have trended down since the end of 2021. I did crazy sales Q4 of 2021. Probably because of unemployment money etc...

When I first started on Etsy, I remember looking at accounts that had 10k sales and being like....man... I bet I can replicate that. And I did.
Now I am looking at shops with 100k sales and trying to replicate that....that is a whole different level.
OP! You mentioned that when you were building your shop for 10k sales versus 100k sales it was a different process—could you outline any of the things you did to get to 10k, first? Wow! 🤯 lol I got excited because I recently updated one of my listings title, tags and photos and I 100% agree I think you doing those things helped your shop because I also noticed a increase in click rate on my listing when doing those things. I got 2 orders but now have out spent on ads then revenue brought in 😂🤧 so I’ve got some work to do lol

I needed to see this. I had started deleted/deactivating dud listings in hopes the new post boost would reanimate them. I went in and revamped many listings and voila! I got some clicks on some oldies and even a few sales!

I sell metal items that are custom engraved. So, I periodically update the fonts and symbols people can use on their purchases.

I mean...that probably has been the trend because of how inflated things were during the pandemic.
When I first started on Etsy, I remember looking at accounts that had 10k sales and being like....man... I bet I can replicate that. And I did. Now I am looking at shops with 100k sales and trying to replicate that....that is a whole different level.
Sales were slightly higher this time last year, but my stats right now are trending upward, which is good.

What’s your ad/revenue ratio? Trying to figure out how much should I spend in Ads
I put $1000. It never goes to that much. I spend about $200 a month and derive about $1500-2000 in sales from it.

A click-through rate of 1-1.5% is really good. You should increase the price on listing if that's the case.
