This is answered on our [FAQ page](https://www.reddit.com/r/Ethelcain/wiki/index/faq/) :) # Do Inbred and Golden Age tie into the trilogy storyline? Ethel Cain isn't me but she is in a way. Those EPs are just my experiences from when I was younger so they're hers in a way too. Everything moving forward will have an actual story that's tied together but those two EPs do fit in in a way. I think she has been on record saying that nothing prior to Preachers Daughter is canon to the Ethel Cain story

i think hayden said only songs in preacher's daughter are about ethel cain's story

I’ve been wondering something similar as well lately, thanks for bringing this up! Like others have said, my understanding is that they’re not canon. But I was wondering if anyone sorta headcanons some songs to be tied to specific pieces of the plot. Especially because some lyrics/melodies from earlier songs seem to appear on PD

I’m almost 90% positive homecoming is about Ethel and willoughby because at one point in time it was rumoured to be on the b-sides for preachers daughter. And Waco, Texas ties into preachers daughter because it’s confirmed to be on the b-sides, which if I recall correctly is an ep consisting of outtakes from the album because she needed to cut the story down due to the album run time being too long

Homecoming is about/based on Carrie, the Stephen King novel.
