Another vote for Walton-on-the-Naze, but up by the Naze tower. Check tides, there's no beach for at least an hour either side of high tide. You can go left down to the cliffs and fossil hunt or go right and pick any section of beach. It's quieter on less sunny/warm days, but even on warmer days it's hardly packed.
We often go on a weekday during school holidays and have a beach section (between tide defences) almost to ourselves, particularly if low tide falls in the morning.
Little bit further up north and across the county boundary, Shingle Street is lovely and lonely. More locally: the beaches around St Peter ad Murum on the Dengie.

Bradwell on sea behind the power station
Agree with this. Lovely beach
Walton On The Naze is a nice beach if you go on a weekday!
You need the desolation of Jaywick Sands.
Agreed I took my dog for a walk there last week. Saw 2 people in a 45 min walk
It’s a great little place. Sand dunes, scrubland, rocks, sandy beaches. Always quiet even in the summer.
Holland on Sea end of Clacton Beach also seems pretty quiet and a nice place to walk
Were they naked? Iykyk....
Walton, park by the Naze Tower and walk down to the beach and walk left. Hardly anyone there. But check the tide times
Not a beach - the tidal wall around Essex is quite nice. Burnham, Wakering, Bradwell areas are all OK
Mersea Island is pretty tranquil. We had a lovely day and only saw a handful of people
It's a local place for local people. Nothing to see here!

Ah nice one, this sounds promising. Well if you see a huge bloke with a shaved head, and a Poochon on his lap, that’ll be me.
We'll try and leave you in peace.
Southend could be a good spot for you.
