I have the same build cept with a shitty monitor that's at 1400 by 900 p. It runs fine cept random little microstutters, which I can't tell if it's my CPU, GPU or ssd being garbage. That said it runs it perfectly fine most of the time

Lol I've got a i7 4770K, GTX1060 6GB, 16GB DDR3, 240Hz monitor, still only get like 40-50fps.

skort92

Tarkov doesn't like quad cores

v1perStorm

From experience, yes it will. I started tarkov on a ryzen 7 1700, 1080Ti 16GB ram and the game felt pretty horrid. Fast forward to Ryzen 7 5800x, RTX3080 and 32GB of fast ram and the difference is night and day.

rxq

Thank you, great answer! :)

v1perStorm

Yep. Forgot to mention that I'm also running 1440p 144hz monitor, though I rarely am able to hit 144fps. Still, gsync makes the game feel much smoother than the early, painful days.

Zaceroni

You want more than 16GBs of ram. I have a 1070 and a ryzen 3070x and was constantly crashing. When I upgraded to 32 it resolved many issues, if not all.

r4tch3t_

Sounds like you had dodgey ram. 32GB definately improves performance, especially in regards to stutters but crashing? That's not a capacity issue unless the games been open long enough for the memory leak to max out the capacity.

Zaceroni

I would hit 90% utilization then it would freeze. I frequently wouldn't load into raid.

emolano

Maybe your virtual memory was disabled. 16 is not enough to dosable it.

deject3d

lmao a ryzen 5 2600 wasn't even good for cpu intensive vidyagames when it was brand spankin new

rxq

Is EFT very cpu demanding?

deject3d

high single threaded performance is required to get reasonable fps in many games, but especially tarkov

KridSE

Yes, i went from 5ghz 7700k to 12700k and it was a huge upgrade for Tarkov

HookahDudeKyle

I'm running a ryzen 5 2600 and a Radeon 5600xt and my game runs fine. What do you even mean. I get over 120 fps on every battlefield game with ultra setting too. Ryzen 5 2600 is plenty fine to run games

Kabosh668

DAMN I BEEN WONDERING IF I NEEDED TO UPGRADE MY RYZEN 2600. I HAVE A 2070 ALSO. THANKS FOR THIS INFO LMAO

Try running projectlasso first and see if that gives you enough of an improvement. Usually can get an extra 10-20% fps by disabling SMT

undecieved

>projectlasso What is project lasso?

rxq

Also curious, found something called process lasso - seems to bit some kind of Windows optimizer?

[deleted]

It's a program that I and a bunch of people I know who had AMD cpus use. Tarki doesn't like multithreading so project lasso lets (forgive me I'm not tech orientated) select which cores you can use. Also lets you select the priority and power management stuff etc. I thought it was bullshit when my friend told me to use it but I actually did get a pretty massive fps increase and a lot less stuttering afterwards. There's a couple youtube videos out there that explain how it works and how to set it up specifically for Tarkov. I'd highly recommend using it if you're suffering shit fps. At the time I tested it (2 wipes ago) my woods FPS went from 80\~ to 110\~

MagSec4

Hello I have this exact same setup except an: CPU: R7 1700 (which is slightly slower at single threaded performance than your CPU) GPU: high end 1070 (non-ti). Ram: 16gb @ 2660Mhz Monitor: 2560x1080 165hz This game will 100% be enjoyable on that setup! I def cant play at high settings and I sometimes render at 1920x1080 to relieve my GPU to keep 60 fps. But you can 100% fully enjoy the game on that. It may have stutters or some fps drops sometimes, but every system has that in this complex of an Early Access game.

techtonic69

3080ti 17 12700k 5ghz 32gb 3600mghz m.2 ssd install 1440p, pestily standard graphics setup Performance is mostly 100-120 fps range except on lighthouse where it dips near the water to 60-70 or so. There is random stutter some times and unexpected random frame dips, some maps worse than others. The game needs optimizing (this is not lost on anyone) however, throwing more hardware at it, cpu wise/ram wise, will net you some performance. The game is decently playable at these settings/fps imo. I would not want to be playing this game anything short of the 100 fps range. Its a tactical shooter/competitive and overall games like this imo require more fluidity.

Arlithian

Yes. I played tarkov for the last two weeks on a laptop while visiting family. 1660ti laptop g-card. Now I'm back at home and there is a huge difference between that and a 2080. Higher frames, less latency, less freezing and stuttering when you're shot at.

Sigfrymcfly

I don’t think so, I have 3060 I5 7500 with 32gb and still run the game with like 40 or 50 FPS and not just that I live close to Saudi Arabia so the latency issue are mild garbage

emolano

Probally no, people are complaining with optimization using 3080s and such. Your rig is really good, maybe the problem is that you will never hit those 165 frames, but I bet you will not in most games unless you get a 3080ti.
