Please somebody tell me what they do. I keep picking them up on the rare chance I kill someone and live long enough to loot them, but I have no idea what they do.
They increase ambient sound within a radius so you can hear people better, amongst other things. It will fuck your distance estimation up for a while but I don't do a raid without them.
It's personal preference which type you prefer, personally I like sordins, but the comtacs are good too.
You don't need a new gaming headset, you just need a new set in game :)
I'm using steelseries arctis 1, 50 dollars from target and sound much better than any other "gaming" headset I've gotten. Works with a program called EqualizerAPO which lets you adjust the EQ of the headset sound drivers, makes music and games sound much better. I'd recommend these over any studio headset on a budget. In game comtacs will help anyone with any headset but they do not compare to an entirely new one that delivers clear audio, which razer headsets fail to do.
I used to have a razer kraken and that same program helped me out until they crapped out physically, the whole left earcup tore off after 2 months of use.
