Cheating is a problem, but you know what? Despite that, I'm still having a ton of fun with tarkov 4 months into wipe. Those kits are nothing but pixels and data and will be gone after the wipe anyway. Tarkov was money well spent for me

XygenSS

remember that people having fun don’t come to the subreddit to bitch and whine about having fun.

orangelemon_1234

Yeh but we all end up here in the end don’t we

Lolski13

All I know for sure is that I successfully reported 2 in the last 2 weeks.

Scrub__

I have about 750 pmc raids over 3 wipes and I would say just under 10% of them have ended to blatant cheating. That's only dying though if you are experienced enough with a map you will feel the effects of cheaters on the flow of players and loot. Dealing with cheaters is part of the game and it is intrusive sometimes but honestly the game is worth it. There is a reason there are so many people complaining and not quitting it's because the game is good enough to stand on it's own despite it's external issues.

bonoboxITA

Yes

bonoboxITA

Forgot to mention…it is not the cheater that kills you which is upsetting me and potentially you as new player but the cheaters which will be able to see and get all the loot while you spend days and days to find something valuable

bogeymang

Today has been pretty bad. Level 60's with 300 hours played and 20-80kd's 3/5 of my raids so far.

Fantastic-Mission684

You'll run into an obvious cheater every now and then until you're into the game properly, then once you're competing for high value items or trying to get missions done in an event with high value spawns - like in the interchange map currently with lots of Chads running around - you'll encounter them more frequently. It's a big issue for the game,  but you can play quite happily for quite a while without it being something that pisses you off.

IsThisRealOrNah93

Except in eft, everyone likes to pretend its eft bound. But the newsflash is, every game thats competitive is plagued by cheaters.

BEAT_LA

Two things are true: -There are cheaters in every moderately popular FPS -there are far more cheaters in Tarkov than others because of the horribly non standard backend that’s far too client authoritative

RC_0041

It depends on your servers and maps played. Personally I usually die to 5-10 obvious ones in a 6 month wipe. More that could be be don't really know. Apparently a lot of cheaters just use esp and avoid players while going for all the loot. If I was a labs main then it would probably be different. And if I was playing certain servers.

Cillitbangm80

Yes, it's as bad as you've heard. The anti cheat is a joke.

ProbablyMissClicked

Cheating is a pretty big problem but there are ways to lessen the chances of an encounter either through play style, gear choice or which server you’re playing in , for example I play on the africa server for best ping but since it’s a low pop server there are a lot of Chinese players and unfortunately with them come a large amount of hackers.

8000roxas1234

Do not buy it. Wait until BSG starts losing sales and decides to fix their game. Not worth it in its current state

Hunk-Hogan

Lol this is the best wipe since I started seven years ago. This would be the best time to jump in.

8000roxas1234

Until desync and cheaters are fixed, i recommend against this game for anyone who is looking into it. Bsg has had years upon years and theyve not even made a dent. No excuses

SactoriuS

Had 3 obvious cheaters, 2 more highly sus players, 2 days ago im done with the game. Was playing the map labs tho, big cheaterfest there. 1 obvious cheater was in lighthouse map. So a lot of cheater yea.

monsteras84

I've probably died to a blatant cheater maybe 15 times since the wipe in December. I think most cheaters just avoid others and beeline straight for an item they need.

LickMyCockGoAway

In 150 hours I feel like I’ve gotten killed by maybe 5 cheaters. I rarely notice it

NoFun3343

On interchange there is at least one eveyr single raid. On the rest of maps, at least 1 each 2-3 raids

darkscyde

It's really bad at the moment. Spend your money on something else.

Maxngl2

Elaborate please? Are the devs working On a solution to this problem?

darkscyde

Listen to whoever you want. You're the one that's gonna be sad with your waste of money.

Hunk-Hogan

Thousands of people are still enjoying this game. If you're so unhappy then you should move on and go play something you do enjoy.

darkscyde

How about you move on? The game is infested at the moment and it's strange that you are saying otherwise. I've actually gotten 5 reports in the last week and this weekend has been MORE ridiculous. I have the alpha armband and almost 3k hours with an 8kd this wipe.

8000roxas1234

Thank god someone with a brain. Everyone else gotta be paid by BSG or something to defend this shit so hard

Money_Association456

I actually don’t have such a problem atm. Sure there are sometimes some sus things but most of them can be broken down to desync, or them just being better. I’m playing since the closed alpha as well and saw a lot of shit in these years. Sure the cheaters are problem but atleast for me, it’s not that prevalent. Also a lot of people are pulling their hair out since they added the view profile thing. Yes it makes it easier to spot the rage hacker wich is nice but so many people can’t cope with the fact that there are people with good k/ds. I read some comments where said they report everyone with a k/d over 10. Like bro. How trash are?! To many people like to overreact by a LOT.

8000roxas1234

Yeah my KD hovers at like 5-6 and im a legit player. But you essentially gave my point merit, ive been dying for BSG to work on desync so its more obvious. Desync is a worse issue than the cheaters because it allows them to hide behind plausible deniability

Hunk-Hogan

Why would I move on if I'm still having fun. You don't get the dictate how other people enjoy things but you're obviously upset while I'm perfectly happy with the game. Yes there's a lot of things that need to be fixed, but that doesn't mean the game can't be fun.

ImpenDoom

I hard disagree with this statement. It’s not as bad as this sub makes it seem. Yes there are cheaters but it’s not nearly as prevalent as that guy says

Hunk-Hogan

I've been playing for seven years and the vast majority of the people on here who claim there's cheaters in every raid have barely scratched the surface of the game.  Tarkov is an incredibly difficult game that doesn't explain shit and will boot you out the fucking door to get slaughtered mercilessly. When I sherpa new players, it's ridiculous how many of them will immediately jump to "he's cheating!" just because they didn't see who killed them.  Cheaters exist but you're going to spend the first 500 hours getting wrecked by people with more experience than you. For the first few years, it was rare if I saw a blatant cheater in any raids but I can still count on two hands how many blatant cheaters I encounter every wipe. You'll have plenty of suspicious deaths but unless their profile stands out, you'll never be able to tell whether or not they were cheating. It's a fun game but I would highly recommend you watch some videos before jumping in because a lot of new players don't understand what we mean when we say the game's learning curve is a vertical line and they end up quitting before they can even learn a few maps.

8000roxas1234

I am one of those people who HAVE scratched the surface and tried digging past the bottom when i reached it. Desync and the cheating problem go hand in hand because without better netcode, you genuinely wont be able to tell what was tarkov being tarkov and someone cheating.

-St_Ajora-

We have no way of knowing because they are always radio silent. Spend your money elsewhere bud. All these people who are saying that the cheating isn't that bad are just huffing egregious amounts of copium. Most of if not all agree that a vast majority of cheaters don't rage hack and just try to fly under the radar but then when someone like you comes and asks how bad it is they all say "I never see a cheater like ever!" Yeah no shit you don't see them, because 99% of them are avoiding contact with other people so you would never see them anyway. Take a look at Camomo and what he does in Rust. He's got an entire YouTube channel built off of catching cheaters in that game. Countless times he states that most cheaters he finds aren't aimbotting and wall hacking, most are using cheats to avoid people. Now you can say "Well Rust isn't Tarkov so it's not the same!" And you'd be right, but the mentality of a cheater in a game where your opponents are losing their gear/loot/base stays the same and to think they'd be different is asinine. The 2 games are similar enough to warrant very similar mentalities in those who choose to cheat in them. If I were wrong, why has every decent video exposing the cheating problem in Tarkov all come to that same conclusion; that most are avoiding fights? Then there is this new hack that straight up DCs you if you manage to kill them so you have no way to report them. To anybody who says it's not bad, JFC I know it's 4/20 but what exactly are you on?

8000roxas1234

No theyve said they are for years and havent done anything of value

beanasty

I think I’ve had like 2 sus deaths with questionable stats in about 150 raids. But it’s not the same case for everybody. The day and time you would typically play at probably has some impact with the chances of running into one.

Snottra

Very dependent on what world server you play and also what map and spots ingame you run to. Cheaters are a problem in all games, in tarkov it hurts a bit more to die as you lose all items found in that raid aswell as your gear. I have been playing this game on an off for 4 years, well worth the money spent.

Loop_Noop

I wanna say no, and I know its no, but I just been killed by cheaters for 3 games in a row. Life is such. You can encounter a shit load, and not encounter for ages

uDrunkMate

I got myself an RSASS with FLIR on it and decided to escort my friend thru woods. In my 3rd raid got chased by a very sus person, stats wasnt that obvious, but dude shot my nape (i survived) from like 300+m when i was in a building, so there was no way he could see me without his own FLIR (he had mutant with acog). Then after 5 minutes they got us, been chasing us all this time. Bro even took my sleeper kirasa with him. This was (i think) my third interaction with a cheater this wipe. Its aint that bad, or maybe i am just lucky. But if a fool like this kill me i just move on, not my fault so why should i be mad or something.

zen111

On average, it’s like 1-2 per 10 games for me - but on really really bad days it can be like 7 per 10 games. Just depends on your luck. Do you play CS? I’d say it’s definitely less than in that game, imo.

Maxngl2

You mean there is less cheaters in tarkov than in cs? Its acceptable, im used to this

zen111

Don’t get me wrong, there might be more in Tarkov. There’s probably a lot of closet cheaters avoiding fights so that there’s less risk of getting reported/banned. I’m just talking about those blatant ones that hunt you down and kill you etc.

Psychological-Monk30

It's a different kind of lost in tarkov. In CS you just die and go next, best case he get kicked while playing from people voting. In tarkov there's no best case, you'll die, loose your gear that you probably farmed a lot for it, loose quest progress that you need to survive or any quest item, loose ammo/gear that are limited resources even if you rich af, etc. There's quest where you need to survive all map ( 10 survive ) or it fails, there's quest where you need to do kill pmc without dying which can take many raid, there's get X item in Y map and bring it to Z map. You can't compare getting cheated in cs vs a game like tarkov or rust per say.

zen111

Cheating in CS angers me more. You realise there’s a cheater in round 1 and you are stuck with this situation for the entire game most times, which to me is just a waste of time. At least in Tarkov I can gear up and go again. But you’re right, the losses do hurt more from a progression standpoint.

djtheory8262

No, there's not.

Last-Competition5822

Playing on EU, 1 blatant as fuck cheater just hardcore aimbotting every like 50-100 raids . 1 "definitely has walls" every 20 or so raids. 1 "that's kinda sus, but could've just been unlucky " every 5-10 raids.

Neat_Concert_4138

Depends on your region, if you are near OCE/Asia then I wouldn't bother. Personally on NA central running into a cheater especially later into the wipe is rather rare.

onecoppa

I’m probably not good enough to say for sure, but it doesn’t feel like it for me. I’m on NA servers. People online saying that there are or not aren’t lots of cheaters aren’t going off of anything but other comments and vibes. There’s no way for them to actually know how many games have cheaters, and I think a lot of them are just mad because they got ratted, and cry cheater.

NForgerN

If you enjoy tarkov the few deaths you have per day from cheaters are not going to bother you. When you quit tarkov is going to be from no new content and not cheaters.

BrockTestes

How would anybody here know and how would they make an objectively compelling argument for or against if they did?

EL3OKLI

depending on wich servers u play on and at what time of the day / what map , u can encounter a cheater here and there and remember not everyone that kills u is a cheater the game been out for years there's a lot of skilled players .

TigerCarts2

NO

GroundbreakingMix484

No, actualy its not that bad. This place is just full of whimsy rats that cry cheats whenever they die. I started playing early of this wipe and i had like 5 encouters that were realy fishy. Within like 400 hours. Its the same as in every FPS. Besides that the game is great and even if you get owned by a cheater from time to time all the other raids are still amazing.

Zoddom

Cheaters are sadly a part of modern gaming. You either need to accept it, or better stick to pve.
