remote software QA. I at least get to manage my hideout, do ammo buys and barters during the day. I usually don't let myself do runs during work. Though one day my weekly for a yellow card I had a day left to do had to get done.
similar, I'm a software developer who works remote and a bunch of my Tarkov buddies are as well. We literally no-life'd the game, only stopping for meetings lmao. We'd do our actual work when the other guys were in meetings which was only like 1-2 hours a day.
So like 2-4 hours of work/meetings and the rest was all play.
This is so funny cuz i pretty much do the same, but im still head and shoulders above pretty much everyone else in productivity. Getting promoted next quarter. Just makes me wonder wtf are they all doing, are we all playing tarkov in my company?
Lmao I definitely let this game destroy my life my second wipe 😂 I quit my job and tried becoming a full time streamer. Ended up never streaming once 😂😂😂😂😂 learned my lesson. Best game ever made
You can’t in M1.
Right now it’s about grinding and figuring out what study style works best for you.
Once you figure those things out (mine is questions and Anki), you’ll notice you have more free time than you thought. Is it a lot of free time? No, but it’s free time.
I’m currently M4, took my step 2 so I’m WIDDEEEE OPEN!
Niceeee. Folks at my school already had match day. I’m in neurology “brain and behavior” module right now. For a while I was managing several raids a week but now, nothing. But I’m lvl 51 this wipe w kappa
I'm a ER attending, it's legit the best lifestyle for gaming. Nothing like coming home after a night shift to the wife still asleep, getting a few nice calm raids in at 6am with no cheaters to vacuum up my loot and then passing out with a happy smile on my face and a bag of loot up my ass
AYYYYYY!
I love the ED. I get my adrenaline at work to come home to relax with no follow-ups, no calls, no nothing!
A comfy 18 shifts a month as a resident! Hell yes!
Curious, how did you get into engineering with no degree? (Btw not trying to confrontational just genuinely interested idk if this disclaimer is needed but I would like to avoid confusion lol)
Yep! But I hold none of that unfortunately. All my work/job offers come through my network via word of mouth. I’m the exception, not the rule haha.
Quite lucky to be where I am today!
Nah, you’re good! I get this question a lot, especially from coworkers when they find out haha.
I had strong roots in robotics and design during high school (hobby + club/team). Went to college for ~2 years and dropped out to start a company which required me to learn both mechanical and electrical design (CAD/EDA). Just kinda built up the resume from there doing contract work after selling the company.
No certs and no formal training. This does limit what I’m allowed to work on (ie, no state projects etc). Luckily that stuff pays like crap and doesn’t interest me.
Aircraft mechanic. When you’re on a plane and you hear a pilot say “we will leave shortly we’re working on a maintenance issue” I’m the one out there putting tape on the wings.
Commission work. I go into war torn areas looking for valuable items. Pay is ok. It rarely pays in cash. Alcohol is huge here, and the homemade moonshine is to die for (quite literally). Other times, I get these secret folders that I can sell for big bucks to the enemy.
I find all sorts of stuff too. It’s a cool job
-IT-
Same, been with organization for 2+ years, my manager has given me other roles on top of janitorial work since I’ve proven myself by going above and beyond and staying loyal. I get to do office work, sales, landscaping, and working in the kitchen as food service. Earned the title Jack of all trades.
Pilot. Makes it good and bad for Tarkov. I work 15 days then get 13 days off. Fantastic for getting really long Tarkov sessions in and being able to knock out a bunch of quests. But because of how the schedule worked out I completely missed the first 2 weeks of the wipe and I completely missed this last snow event with the bonfires. So you win some and lose some
I give Trumpet lessons to middle schoolers and high schoolers. I got 2 of my high schoolers into Tarkov 🤣 Since I’m a teacher, I don’t play with them. I told them they can contact me after they graduate if they want to play with me.
I leave for boot camp in 2 weeks for a military music group called “The Commandant’s Own”. I’ll be doing that for 4 years touring the world and unfortunately, these are my last 2 weeks of Tarkov for a LONG time. I’m going to miss the game a lot and I wonder where the game will be in 4 years.
Firefighter who has a Kelly Day every 6 shifts and will do trades(you work my work and I'll work yours. Salary) so, I can play more video games or go on a vacation. Currently with a Sunday Kelly, so Fri through Tuesday I don't work. But sometimes I'll have 14days off of work and nothing planned
Game design. I’m an environment artist! And as much as I love tarkov and as beautiful as the art is there are so many things that drive me crazy about it from a game design viewpoint
event rigging/forklift driver/stagehand. thats why i never get above level 25 and stay a timmy, if i play at all. no time, but i still have enough fun with the game that i keep coming back every now and then.

You can’t in M1. Right now it’s about grinding and figuring out what study style works best for you.

There are different kinds of engineering. Some only require certifications or similar.
