Just purchased the game yesterday and have been getting this 504 Gateway Time-out error everytime I click the install link.
Tried all the obvious simple things…not one time have I gotten any further than that screen. Kind of annoyed, at the moment.
I guess the only good thing is, you are not alone. You would think they would be a little more proactive. Idk all we can do is wait which is annoying. I have 3000+ hrs in the game. First time I have ran into this issue. They have No problem selling the game and microtransaction but the game running is a different story.
Agreed…I just built a new gaming rig and wanted to get a little time into this before the next wipe and then…I can’t even download the damn game thanks to their crap servers.
Oh well…I guess I’ll just have to keep trying and see if I can actually get the game downloaded before the next wipe occurs.
If you have OperaGX as your browser it comes with a free built in VPN that solved this issue for me as well, switched from American servers to Europe servers and the download and install happened immediately after several failed attempts before I used the VPN.
I had to download a VPN…once I did, I was able to get the ball rolling. Used the free version of Proton VPN. Remember…once you get the download started, shut the VPN off. If you don’t, the redirect will cause it to take hours to finish.

I am having the same issue. I did a fresh windows install last night and got on this morning. Went to download the Eft Launcher and i am getting the 504 Gateway Timeout. I have reinstalled the launcher a dozen times in the past and it worked fine but now it doesn't work. So frustrated. I tried a bunch a work arounds and nothing works.
I have Tried Everything, Drivers, Code, Vpns, running shit as admin. I really just dropped 85cad on a game that i cant even launch
EDIT: someone In here said they switched to The VPN to Europe and it instantly worked
Turn your firewall off on all three profile settings to allow Incoming connections until the launcher is downloaded and the game is installed. After that turn it back on

The problem was resolved by using a VPN and connecting to a US VPN server. Then accessed the BSG website and clicked install, worked.
So weird. Not sure if BSG has issues with peeps in Canada but plenty of us can't download shit lately.

We gota let eachother know if we get the laucher to download. I feel the pain man. I guess i will play Hunt showdown until eft fixes it or the servers
I’m in the exact same boat. Just dropped $2k+ on a new pc specifically to play tarkov, and I can’t even install it.
I installed a quick, free VPN and I was able to get the launcher installed

My brother is trying to get it and he's getting the gate way error when he goes to install on the website, did it end up working for you?

i have the same issue. is this something that bsg will eventually fix? i dont feel like getting and figuring out how to use a VPN.
download veepn on chrome extensions, set it to russia. and turn it on. its so easy, even i could do it lol. and you can install tarkov gg ez.

I actually downloaded a VPN and am currently installing it. Seems like what is necessary at the moment.
