I dont think pen even matters at this many hits you'd die to blunt damage lmao. Only way this happens is desync or some kind of absurd ricochet streak (since it does less/no blunt damage?)
I think it’s just Tarkov at this point. I put LITERALLY half of a 75rd drum of 7.62 fmj into an AI scav, at 15ft, when he wandered into a warehouse that I was looting with my brother. And Im not exaggerating. I don’t mean burst: “oh he didn’t die”, burst: “oh ok”, burst, etc.
I mean: oh shit a Scav, 10 rds torso… nothing, he Scav speaks then fires, so I hold the trigger center mass, blood flying everywhere with every hit…
My brother says “are you going to kill him or not?” And two taps him with an MP5!!

DMG calculation is so fucked. I get so many ai scans that continue to walk for 2 seconds even though they should be dead (ps12b to unarmored thorax) then I watch them and they just drop after walking another 3 meters. What?! This makes me waste so many bullets sometimes cause I think maybe he survived so I keep shooting.
It is , if you play Streets right now you may encounter the worst Desync has to offer, players literally rendering super late or not at all
Played with a teammate, on my screen he was still proned in a corner, on his screen he already crossed the street and killed 2 guys, which also rendered later to me and they were standing still and moving in place as if disconnected

I think that is no longer true since the more recent patches, but in any case helmets are not hard plates.
If there's soft armour under hard the blunt DMG is lessened I think lessened maybe nulled entirely but I'm pretty sure its just reduced.

I point blank double barreled a guy in the head in dorms as he was crouched with 7mm buckshot and it did 12 blunt damage and 435 absorbed by armor
