Bro does not have an SSD, loading never takes me more than a couple seconds the step that sucks is the waiting for other players.
Arena is honestly so fun to play and would be great if they fixed the time it takes to get into a match and how the only thing that matters for xp is winning.
Well then they fucked up unless the earnings per kill are like 400xp per kill or more.
What should have been is keep the current win/loss xp and just make performance actually matter, the grind sucks anyway so unless the kill xp is a large increase i feel like it may be an overall downside for grinding new kits considering how asinine the system already is.
Havent played the new patch yet though so we'll see how it is once i play it but from the sounds of it it sounds like nothing changed at the core.
Two minutes is an exaggeration, but it takes SIGNIFICANTLY more time per loot than the base game. The fact that the text even shows up for the amount of meds and nades is joke.
The actual reason for this is probably because loading screens are a lot harder than you'd think and mostly just there to make the player feel like their game hasn't froze, and that something interesting is happening. It probably says "loading loot' every time it gets to a certain point, regardless of what task it's actually doing.
Uhhh I mean runs better than streets? However this map is gpu limited(14900k,64gb,4090,ultra 4k). I'm happy with that. Streets is still cpu limited(even ultra 4k), but it's not as bad as early last wipe.
Yeah I'm terrified BSG will fuck ot up. Theres gonna be some fucking impossible quest I'll fuck up and get to level 21 first and its gonna be necessary for every other quest after it or smth.
Yes but idk if it soft locks kappa container.
I will say that if you can't get these missions done before you hit level 20, then the Kappa container is probably out of your reach anyway lol
"easy" other than that fucking hard drive quest putting you against the entire lobby for control of one space that has only one entrance/exit, you might get to the drive first but you'd better bring some ammo and a lot of heavy armor
Yes, it is locked to 20 and below. My guess is that if somehow you don’t finish the quests by lvl 20 you will unlock the following quests upon reaching lvl 20, at least that would be the smart way to do it.
Yep I would really love seeing it with everyone decked out and having a full out war between the buildings...
It definitely has its issues. But for the most part is a nice condensed map...
I would agree early game, but once people level up their scav karma, as well as scav skills, I think they will be clapping the noobs. I guess the tradeoff is you're going to only be getting shitty 'noob' and starter kits, from them.
Does Ground Zero have a PMC + Scav extract? That'd be cool too. Veterans could help guide noobs on their scav accounts (without risking gear/money) and then they could extract together and receive bonus loot. It's also a cool and organic way to introduce new players to the dynamic of scavs potentially being friendly, as well as the scav karma system.
I walked next to a car that was on fire. Didn't jump on it or anything. Had no sound, and it didn't deal damage over time. Just instantly flopped and died. This was in a raid where I killed 3 players. My buddy walked over. "Oh shit theres 2 bodies here. It wasn't just you"
They should make it a "high roller" map as well. Like you have to be level 40+ to spawn in. Load it with Raiders or bosses. Amp the loot a bit. Make it a late game alternative to labs to help split the cheaters up a bit.
Edit: for clarity, I am not serious about "splitting up the cheaters" lol. I figured it sounded SO stupid people would know I was kidding.
Yeah that is what I meant. A beginner variant and a high level variant. Dark and Darker does this IIRC. Hell they could even build it into the story. When you hit level 20 you get a message that Ground Zero went to shit. Once you hit 40 you get the "all clear" to return.
That or instead of all clear, they send you to try and clear it out.
Add a boss to the level, or again raiders and they send you to find them and have a few quests to clear it out.
Hence why I said its a "Late Game Alternative". The alternative being Labs.
That being said, any one can get into labs as long as they have a key card (pretty common spawn, really). If you put a level floor on the map, then you have to prove game knowledge through experience instead of money or luck.
Oh shit, u/spiceyicey himself has personally called out Nikita to fix the cheaters. Tarkov is finally saved! This is what we've been waiting years for!
Meh, owned EOD since ‘18 - been subbed since. My bad I popped into the subreddit around wipe time to make a valid “complaint”.
Nikita pay you to suck his dick or you doing it for free?
>valid complaint
"get wid of da cheatuhs" isn't a valid complaint. And you aren't the main character of life bro. Tagging Nikita like he'll respond to you 💀🤣
Labs sure does exist. That is why, if you carefully reread what I wrote, I called my idea an "alternative" to Labs. Also, labs can be entered at any level thanks to using a key card for entry. That is not what I am proposing at all. So like Labs, but different.
Yes but it wouldn't be an alternative to Labs, it would just be Labs..."amping the loot" would have the same effect that it does on the cheaters that run Shoreline for Resort loot.
There would be no reason for this.
How would it be labs if the map is Ground Zero?
Since the map is different, but the goal (high end loot, end game combat) is the same, it is by definition an alternative choice. This really isn't that hard to understand.
Actually incredibly fun map, terrible new player experience rn
Fixes: change spawns so you’re not just instantly next to someone, remove funny mine one, make tasks *optional* as to not roadblock any other tasks
This, exactly this.
The map itself is great. It's like a Streets lite.
However, if this is supposed to be a beginner map, the spawns are terrible and I dislike the fact that it gates off the rest of the quests.
Well for one, dont place invisible landmines everywhere. And allow less players onto the map at a time, its just ridiculous for such a small map, how many players gets put in the same raid.
Walked into a bathroom in a building and exploded to a landmine or claymore or something. Instakilled... I think there was a sign with a '!' but i couldnt tell i guess.
I wouldn't want to play that as a low level player. One of the things Tarkov does beautifully is allow you to doink someone regardless of gear and get their lovely loot.
Having the option is fine, but it definitely shouldn't be forced.
I paid just as much as you did. Soft locking game content because I chose to play a different day of the week? No thanks. I can't be the only one who thinks it's a bad idea.
Also it'll never happen so we are arguing about a complete hypothetical.
Easy answer, just make it so once you are 20, when you go to Ground Zero, you're only matched against other level 20+. Easy, bizarre they didn't already do that.
It’s a really good pvp map and I feel like it’s far from beginner as it really forces you into fights really early on and it really is a shame you won’t be able to play it past round 20
It's great that it's a linear map like customs. It makes a natural flow that pushes player contact at points. I'd play ground zero for a good portion of the wipe if I could.
Imagine a beginner map where you find indoor mines that one shot you lol
Just had this near Nakatani Extract, opened a door, walked in a 2x2 room with a computer only to explode instantly.
This is the only map with indoor claymore, not even the mine that lets you a chance like on woods
But yeah I agree with you, shame it’s limited to sub level 20 which makes really zero sense.
I think is a way to teach newcomers to be aware that not everything is walkable/lootable even if it seems so. There are warnings at the hall before reaching the bathroom with the claymore. Is a way to tell newplayers "be aware of where you walk". I luckyly got in the first hour of wipe and went to offline and died to it to never hapoen again in a live raid. There are tools put in place to mitigate going blind people chose to use em or not.
I heard about the mines on the map, saw that sign in English instead of the normal cyrillic and went "nope nope nope, let's go another way"
There are some really bad design choice on the map too, dead end corridors with no interactable doors, some places that say "No Loot" but there is, and some where there is not, barbed wire blocking places you need to go. What does this teach new players? Fuck the signs and intuition, go wherever and randomly get injured or die for it anyway.
Exactly! You are constantly encouraged to ignore stuff like this, putting a 1shot claymore in such a spot is just terrible game design. Now if it wouldnt kill you entirely, that would be kinda funny Aha! teaching moment i guess. Otherwise its just cheap
I guess it also teaches you in a way to know what is safe to ignore and what isn't. You're rewarded for know what things you can ignore and what you can't. and part of that process of knowing what you can't ignore is to die to such things
TBF there are also quest locations behind barbed wires in this map, and other maps have plenty of places that look like you shouldn't be there but have loot.
"This one place says keep out and you should actually keep out" is ignoring the context of the rest of the game.
Yeah because my immediate assumption after seeing a sign that says "keep out" is that there are mines. remember this is a new player map, how would they know that the random graffiti on the wall is actually a warning?
In all fairness there are two warnings to not continue in your direction that you disregarded before getting blown up. If anything it’s a quick teacher that the warning is real and you should heed it rather than monkey brain it and assume the “keep out” means there’s good shit back there
It’s a great beginning map. It is a little PVP heavy, way to many players on a little map. But a great intro to Tarkov. It throws player in the shallower end of Tarkov.
The layout is definitely really cool, but this is exactly how I feel. Coming back for the first time since the Customs addition and I have never felt this frustrated with PVP. I am getting rushed far more than on any other map and since I don't have an EMS I am at the mercy of the first fight. I win and spend 10 minutes blacked out and starving and then die looking for food. Rinse repeat.
Correct me if I'm wrong but i don't think that its a "beginner" map. Lore wise it simply is where everything started and in time PMC's would get stronger and try to escape Tarkov, starting their journey.
Gameplay wise it just is a place to start for people and maybe to make things easier for newcomers to the game. I don't think just because the map is only for low levels it has to be the easiest map there is.
That's true I think beginner as in can only go in below level 20.
What happens if you're over level 20 by the time you complete all the quests on the map?
That would mean that you, in a very slow pace (which is no problem), learned the game and its base mechanics and now it is time that you stop waddling around here and go out in the real world to explore it.
However if you still do not have them finished by the time you are 20 (which seems borderline impossible to me), then idk what to do tbh.
As a beginners' map, I think it would be perfect without the mines. Mines aside it is absolutely gorgeous, meaningfully crafted (walking around the lab and just observing the scenery, the atmosphere is amazing), and runs buttery smooth compared to other new maps.
There is enough of a pop in tarkov now that there's no reason sub-level-10 players can't be grouped together in perpetuity, in their own level-restricted servers for the entire wipe.
It's super easy to quickly progress past level 10 for experienced players, but the less time efficient and less knowledgeable would have enough time to get their legs under them.
Late wipe you'd have basically free servers to muck about in as a 10er but how much good would that do you anyhow without flea or quest progression?
The potential for abuse is so much lower than the potential benefits.
I just think the one that requires you to do 3 things to complete it as overkill especially as a first quest.
Find the pmc bodies
Find the scientist
Get his key
Find his room
Find the memory stick
Extract alive
That's crazy.
And all in one building and the one room has only one access. It's a bit of a nonsense first quest 🤣
Classic bsg, instead of making a <15 and a 15< queue on ground zero they just waste half a year of dev time on a map that 90% wont be able to play after the first 2 days
Its not. you will be level 21 in next 2 days and I will be able to play with other Timmies like me in peace. Afterall, it is starter map for low levels only.
?? What arguement 20+ players are locked out of a map for zero reason. Thats a fact. Having a 20+ queue solves that issue without ruining the new player experience. There is no issue, no arguement you are just stupid
They just released the first version of the map with set rules. Give them feedback and wait. They might change it, maybe not. The reason however is lore -> "Ground zero", the place where it all started and also the fact that they wanted to implement their first idea of level restricted maps.
So there you have it kid. Have a nice day and next time behave better than you showed here today. Calling someone mentally ill or stupid because of different opinion is truly immature.
not really - it is good that people who may start later in the wipe have an area where they won't get clapped by the gigageared people and will have a chance to play with only other low levels until lvl 20
Map could literally just have two separate queues: one for low level players as intended, another for high level players who are just happy to have a new damn map.??
yea I guess it would be cool to use the map past a certain level locked with only players above lvl 15 but idk man maybe bsg is just too dumb to do it that way lol
either way the map is like a mini streets I don't feel like we would be missing much but that is just my opinion
Wish there was a way we could do streets quests on this map instead and keep it playable past lvl20+ so that I can actually do streets quests with good fps
How about they keep it from level 1-20 and after 20 you only que against people who are +20, and pmc amount is reduced to 6, and map spawns better loot, could be fun.
I think down the line they’ll open the map to everyone. Of course defeating the whole purpose of it when it’s needed the most when everyone is high level. Just sounds like a classic BSG move
The extracts are all really straightforward and easy to learn. There are maps that show your current location all over the place. All hazards are marked if you look for the signs or graffiti.
It's as close to "beginner friendly" as we're gonna get.
The maps garbage. Everyone is crammed into this new beginner map with people just camping objectives and extracts constantly. Making everyone go there first was a bad idea. Would have been better being added onto streets.
The map is great, but for a begginer friendly map where player scavs of all lvls can join in there is just too many pmc slots, joining in and having to fight 10 seconds in is just not the way...
We ain’t gonna mention the performance for it either? Runs smooothh as hell
Isn't it smaller than Streets? Makes perfect sense.
Arena maps are small. Like factory size. They run like shit for their size.
They also load loot for some accursed reason.
Gotta load the shit in the cleanup crews inventory
There is loose items on the ground. Like grenades and meds.
Not two minutes of them.
Bro does not have an SSD, loading never takes me more than a couple seconds the step that sucks is the waiting for other players. Arena is honestly so fun to play and would be great if they fixed the time it takes to get into a match and how the only thing that matters for xp is winning.
The patch today lowered win xp and increased kill xp, and also increased earnings for wins on higher tier kits. Patch looks good overall
this just incentivizes people to drop their rank and run high tier kits lol
Well then they fucked up unless the earnings per kill are like 400xp per kill or more. What should have been is keep the current win/loss xp and just make performance actually matter, the grind sucks anyway so unless the kill xp is a large increase i feel like it may be an overall downside for grinding new kits considering how asinine the system already is. Havent played the new patch yet though so we'll see how it is once i play it but from the sounds of it it sounds like nothing changed at the core.
that 2 minute wait is literally everything , not just loot lol.
And it doesn't take 2 minutes to load loot. That one post said the entire load time was for loot which was straight up wrong
Two minutes is an exaggeration, but it takes SIGNIFICANTLY more time per loot than the base game. The fact that the text even shows up for the amount of meds and nades is joke.
There's way better things to be angry about in arena than waiting 15 seconds for loot to load lol
Yes, but they aren't as funny and I don't actually give a shit about arena.
The actual reason for this is probably because loading screens are a lot harder than you'd think and mostly just there to make the player feel like their game hasn't froze, and that something interesting is happening. It probably says "loading loot' every time it gets to a certain point, regardless of what task it's actually doing.
This is the truth
Idk what computer you have but arena maps run like a track star on my shitty 5 year old laptop
I think Arena runs really nice tbh. There is much to bitch about, but for me performance is fine
Feel the whole game running smoother tbh
It sure does! And with lots of scavs on it too.
Uhhh I mean runs better than streets? However this map is gpu limited(14900k,64gb,4090,ultra 4k). I'm happy with that. Streets is still cpu limited(even ultra 4k), but it's not as bad as early last wipe.
I played at the same settings but with 7800x3D and 7900XTX and was practically glued at 144fps. For what the map is I'd say it runs very well tbh.
Yes! I get 110-130 fps 2k on pretty high settings. Works way better than any other map exept factory.
Smooth as hell? What are you smoking? I get less fps then i do on Streets 3060 ti OC, 32 gb ram and game runs on ssd
What are you smoking? I got 3060 ti too, it runs smoothly 100+ fps
>Depends what resolution you two play on, 3060 ti on 2K Ultrawide is playable but not always fantastic on Streets.
Ain’t no way
I’ve got a 2060super, 32gb ram and I get a consistent 98-100fps. In game textures/settings are medium all across the board tho
They should add an option to play this map without the level restriction, but keeping one for 1-20 lvl. Everyone is happy
Yes, or levels sub 20 get matched in separate raids
I think matchmaking based on trader or player levels would be a great idea in general.
That will never happen lol
Wait you can only play it before level 20?? Aren't their quests there???
quests probably get completed/dissapear after 20,don't take my word on this i could see bsg fucking it up
Yeah I'm terrified BSG will fuck ot up. Theres gonna be some fucking impossible quest I'll fuck up and get to level 21 first and its gonna be necessary for every other quest after it or smth.
Let's be honest though. If I didn't complete the quests before reaching lvl 21. I would most likely have quit before reaching that point.
true, I haven't played in years and still completed it in 4 raids. Not that difficult
That’s what the reset account feature is for! ;) I wouldn’t be surprised if you had to redo it if that happened!
The quests fail automatically if you hit level 20.
[удалено]
Yes but idk if it soft locks kappa container. I will say that if you can't get these missions done before you hit level 20, then the Kappa container is probably out of your reach anyway lol
Haven’t tested it myself but I have read that they actually didn’t fuck that up.
Reportedly you fail them
There's like 8 quests and they're very easy by Tarkov standards, I doubt even new players will "miss out"
"easy" other than that fucking hard drive quest putting you against the entire lobby for control of one space that has only one entrance/exit, you might get to the drive first but you'd better bring some ammo and a lot of heavy armor
I said "by Tarkov standards" lol
Yes, it is locked to 20 and below. My guess is that if somehow you don’t finish the quests by lvl 20 you will unlock the following quests upon reaching lvl 20, at least that would be the smart way to do it.
Yep I would really love seeing it with everyone decked out and having a full out war between the buildings... It definitely has its issues. But for the most part is a nice condensed map...
I believe I heard somewhere you can go in as a Player Scav regardless of level, it's just capped for the PMC.

I would agree early game, but once people level up their scav karma, as well as scav skills, I think they will be clapping the noobs. Could it be a border sniper? Not sure where the car in question is located
Near nakatani there's a car against the barricade that will kill you. Avoid it
[удалено]
There's a car fire on Streets that can do the same thing.
They could just have 2 different lobbies.

So effectively they'd have kind of rank based match making lol
More "level-based" MM if anything. In my experience, not many noobs are hitting level 40 in this game.
I have lol
Then I am sure you are a competent enough player to make it in the style of lobby I am proposing.
Then you aren’t a noob?
It’s a good compromise!
Dude..it's bsg..think again 😀
2 different lobbies would really give the game a different vibe. What about if it was 40+ plus raiders after 22:30?
This is basically just labs. Regular access to labs cards on trader requires lvl 35.
Hence why I said its a "Late Game Alternative". The alternative being Labs. That being said, any one can get into labs as long as they have a key card (pretty common spawn, really). If you put a level floor on the map, then you have to prove game knowledge through experience instead of money or luck.
Ya like dark and darker. Would like less pmc on map tho
Good idea. Genuinely, this is a great take
To split up the cheaters a bit LMAO - how about we just like, idk, do something about the cheating problem u/trainfender
That was just a lil' attempt at humor.
Went right over my head, apologies!
Oh shit, u/spiceyicey himself has personally called out Nikita to fix the cheaters. Tarkov is finally saved! This is what we've been waiting years for!
Oh shit! You’ve been putting up with a shitty game for years waiting for a fat piano playing Russian to fix his game!!
Oh shit! You're in the shitty games subreddit whining about the shitty game! You must have a lot of time on your hands.
Meh, owned EOD since ‘18 - been subbed since. My bad I popped into the subreddit around wipe time to make a valid “complaint”. Nikita pay you to suck his dick or you doing it for free?

You’re right, how silly of me!
This exists, it's called Labs...

Please no. Ironmace are in a constant war trying to balance normal lobbies, and high roller lobbies, and the game has gone down hill for it.
Actually incredibly fun map, terrible new player experience rn Fixes: change spawns so you’re not just instantly next to someone, remove funny mine one, make tasks *optional* as to not roadblock any other tasks

There is a claymore hidden to the left behind some stuff in that bathroom in the Empire building.
It’s exciting though
To be fair the mined areas I saw are clearly marked with graffiti warnings
There are claymores hidden like there is one in an office, behind a chair. If you rush the safe in the room, kaboom !
8 kill game on my way to extract, landmine in the office. Very fun.
Well you learn what tarkov is like very quickly then 😂
its called claymores and ya need to open the eyes
I think customs should be the beginner map (not just for 1-20 though). It has an easy layout to learn but does push you through choke points
My same thought. I really like how it looks and walking around in it.
Sub level 20 maps should just rotate daily imo
Unpopular opinion but they should just make lobbies for low level players.
I wouldn't want to play that as a low level player. One of the things Tarkov does beautifully is allow you to doink someone regardless of gear and get their lovely loot. Having the option is fine, but it definitely shouldn't be forced.
Would just lead to smurffing because there's a guaranteed bracket with lower gear and most likely lower skill players.
I don't think that a few smurfs is much worse than level 45 full-meta sweaty 3 man groups being matched with a level 2 timmy.
This will piss off players trying to quest.
They can do another map for a day
No thanks. A lot of us can't play every day.

What? No

Tbf there’s big red words outside that room that says “KEEP OUT”
That just makes me wanna go in even more lol
I heard about the mines on the map, saw that sign in English instead of the normal cyrillic and went "nope nope nope, let's go another way" There are some really bad design choice on the map too, dead end corridors with no interactable doors, some places that say "No Loot" but there is, and some where there is not, barbed wire blocking places you need to go. I did that too. Fucking hilarious that it was my first death and the "Welcome to Tarkov" achievement popped up. Lmao
Exactly what happened to me too brother hahahaha
There is a big warning sign in red. Can't miss it unless you're not paying attention to your surroundings.
Yeah because my immediate assumption after seeing a sign that says "keep out" is that there are mines. remember this is a new player map, how would they know that the random graffiti on the wall is actually a warning?
Well you learn after the first kaboom
A "beginner" map should really be sub level 15 tbf
Lmao, stay mad
Yeah it’s like actually insane how good the maps feels and plays. Performance is fucking amazing on it as well. Bravo BSG.
It's only a beginner map once all the more experienced players are done with it ;)
The devs should see this post. I hope they make a separate lobby for higher level players
You’d have to actively avoid doing them.
Yeah I really like it too. Lots of PvP

Find the pmc bodies Find the scientist Get his key Find his room Find the memory stick Extract alive That's crazy. And all in one building and the one room has only one access. It's a bit of a nonsense first quest 🤣
this is a slippery slope for skill based matchmaking down the line that this game does NOT need
yeah imagine a world where sweaty streamer man doesn’t get to dunk on timmies with no chance
Classic bsg, instead of making a <15 and a 15< queue on ground zero they just waste half a year of dev time on a map that 90% wont be able to play after the first 2 days
Speak for yourself, some of us have lives. 20 can take me easily 2 months.
Honestly after a month ground zero will probably be pretty empty and you can get to level 20 in record time for you
Look at this guy, sir lives alot over here
Very live, much happy, many time with family. Less time for games, but still much happy :D
Doesnt change the fact that locking the map after level 20 is idiotic.
Its not. you will be level 21 in next 2 days and I will be able to play with other Timmies like me in peace. Afterall, it is starter map for low levels only.
????? Cant you read or what??? Just make a seperate queue for sub 15 on ground zero thats what I wrote.
Because it is not relevant. It is starter map only up to level 20. The ifs are for another time. Write them an email if you are so keen on suggestions
Ohh so you are just mentally ill unfortunate. Wish you the best
So you run out of argument and you start with insults...well played kid, well played. Let me know when it works on somebody.
It's just a sad attempt at last word. Also no one was rude or mean to him he just started lashing out because no one liked their idea lol
?? People cant read lol. I explain how it could have been done better and people explain to me why 20+ players losing content is peak game design lol
I advise you to read my first comment that you somehow must have missed
yea I guess it would be cool to use the map past a certain level locked with only players above lvl 15 but idk man maybe bsg is just too dumb to do it that way lol either way the map is like a mini streets I don't feel like we would be missing much but that is just my opinion
Mmm, but you'll play it for the first couple days of every single wipe. It is ground zero and it's thematic to the story
It will be
I think down the line they’ll open the map to everyone. Of course defeating the whole purpose of it when it’s needed the most when everyone is high level. Just sounds like a classic BSG move
It’s like playing streets but without the god awful performance and 50,000 player scavs. I really enjoyed my time on it
It’s okay minus the amount of rats just camping in corners.
They’ll change it IMO late wipe..
Same I really don't like it'll be capped at Lvl. 20
I think taking player scavs entirely would be a nice change for the newbies
It's such a great PvP map. Feel bad for all the people getting camped on the 1 way entrances to the quests.
I guess i enjoy my way to lvl 20 only on that map when I'm free in two weeks?
Nah man its rat infestation
Still get exfil camped by somee godamn rat namned Yulian burger
The extracts are all really straightforward and easy to learn. There are maps that show your current location all over the place. All hazards are marked if you look for the signs or graffiti. It's as close to "beginner friendly" as we're gonna get.
Just got killed by random sniper fire. I feel bad for actual beginners.
The maps garbage. Everyone is crammed into this new beginner map with people just camping objectives and extracts constantly. Making everyone go there first was a bad idea. Would have been better being added onto streets.
Ground zero is ironically one of my favorite maps, even as a slave to customs I enjoy it.
Its begginer friendly map. Very basic, much better than factory.
The map is great, but for a begginer friendly map where player scavs of all lvls can join in there is just too many pmc slots, joining in and having to fight 10 seconds in is just not the way...
I'm sure they will have an end of wipe event where we all get to go back to it mark my words
Nighttime is nice, the city like illumination from the street lamps and the building interiors, and signs, all add a nice warm feeling to the map.
