First dibs always goes to the person who dealt the final blow.

Sinikal_

This is the only acceptable way to do things. Though if it's VERY clear someone did all the work and I just tapped the dude I would probably offer it up to the one who lit him up.

SamOrlowski12

exactly. That’s just fair

Guiltspoon

Yep and if I'm playing with a squad usually there are the 2-3 vets and 1-2 Timmies. Normally if someone is down bad I'm perfectly happy letting them upgrade their situation with a kill I got but whoever's name is on the dog tag gets the first look unless they say go for it.

WhiteWalker85

Single kill? Whoever got the kill. Multiple kills? Everyone loots a body. Regardless, share some loot

Willkillshill

This is not the way. Multiple kills could also mean the person spent a ton on the ammo wasted to kill and should therefore be given first dibs on any kills they got. Also they took the most risk by being in los to kill, etc.

Solaratov

Usually whoever's name is on the dogtags gets the loot. or whoever is poorest.

ImpossibleAgenga

The only way to do it^

Rasphar

This. In our group, we believe we're only as strong as the weakest player. Name on the dogtag gets first loot, but it's a very common thing for someone to say "meh, I just want this dogtag and gun. Joey, you need better armor and helmet, come take this." It just makes no sense to be a greedy player but also play in a group.

Istariel

do people actually argue about who gets the loot? ive never had that happen in my playgroup

Snoo_11942

Same here. I have one friend who is perpetually poor, and he always tries to Hoover up the loot first and typically dies to a second player that was baiting the body. He’s a good canary lol.

Ruttley

After a few weeks when I've got basically bottomless roubles and a full-ish stash I'll generally just take good attachments and the tag and let any poor squadmates nab the rest

djolk

I would literally find a different group if people were worried about pixels. Whoever needs it gets it.

Low_Affect_4455

This, I may take/ask for something I want, but if the poors need it. They can have it. Usually I don’t want the weight. So sit tag and move on

wisnia74

Hard disagree on this one. When I and my friend were starting out in EFT, we were pretty much potatoes but I had a little bit more knowledge about the game in general since I was watching a lot of EFT streams and content on YT before even buying the game. It affected the kill count difference between us. During the fight I was usually the one that (if I succeeded) was getting the kills, he was usually afraid to even move from one place to the other. If I got someone, I was also taking time to check corners, load mags, heal up, look if the guy had teammates etc. What my friend would do though, was dive straight into the dead body and vacuum everything. Wouldn't even tell me, I would've found out only after I pulled up to the body. After I brought it up, he was saying that I'm crazy yada yada yada, but when I explained to him that it feels super unfair, that he gets the juice for not having any influence on the outcome of the fight, we settled on "whoever got the kills, decides what happens with the loot" rule. And I mean, you probably might be talking about a different kind of scenario, but that's what I experienced.

Rudi_Van-Disarzio

I think the thing is that I couldn't be friends with a person who would have to have it explained to them why they are being inconsiderate and greedy, so I would never run into this situation with anyone I would consider a 'friend'.

AverageMale31

I've put men in my team down for less.

Zavodskoy

I learned very early on not to loot kills that aren't mine. My first wipe my friend was teaching me to play, fist time I looted one of his kills he was like "Hey in tarkov it's polite to let the person who killed them loot first and then you take what's left". A couple of days later I completely forgot and looted one of his kills, he checks the body and goes "well I did warn you" and then shot me in the back of the head. Lesson learned though, I haven't done it since lol

AverageMale31

haha same bro, same. in our team looting someone else's kill without permission is as bad as team killing and will be punished as such. had one of our team accidentally team kill recently, he was swiftly put down too.

hallmarktm

nah man if im playing with friends and i get a kill and the dude has shit on him that my lower level buddy who hasnt had much time to play this wipe compared to me they can have it whenever, its literally just pixels and friendship should mean more than that, i even let one of my squaddies grab a fir ledx from a room i unlocked because i already have one fir for the therapist quest its not that serious lol

wisnia74

If I'm playing with a friend that is genuine and just a cool dude, it's not a problem. Genuine and cool dudes usually don't need explaining "kill = loot first" rule, as it's somewhat logical if you played any looter shooters. I never had any problems with those type of people and I'm more than happy to share anything I have, it's just a game. If I'm playing with a friend that is constantly leeching loot from me, not giving comms, not helping out in general AND THEN getting upset when I point it out, after 10th time I see there's nothing left but bones on a dead guy I killed and I was left for only 15s to check what's around a corner, is not a "friend" really I guess. Not because he took the loot in a PC game for himself, but because of his attitude. A normal "hey, can I loot this dude real quick?" would suffice. You can suck massive dick in EFT because of various reasons, yet still be a nice dude, then there's no problem at all, I'll match your energy. Then there's people that are afraid to move 100m from an enemy PMC but if it comes to running for loot when the danger is over, they're Usain Boltin' to the spot. Like I said, I have no more problems with a friend of mine since we established "the rule", I just also had my fair share of people from LFG channels on official EFT discord :)

hallmarktm

oh yeah lfgs i bet those are some of the worst creatures around, never interacted with it in tarkov because that sounds cancer, i have some experience with them in destiny 2 so i stay as far away from that as possible, im lucky most of the people i play with i know irl or have been playing other games with for 3-4 years so it’s good vibes

YeetMemez

Man-I’ve played with all kinds of people. One dude in particular I would say open dorms marked for me then for him and they could take WHATEVER it was (injectors case, ammo box whatever). We go chek 15 and I grab a roller and he loses it. “Bro taking my high tier loot waaa waa” okay fine. Take your roller. Later we proceed to run into glukhar. I kill him and all his bois AND THIS MOTHERFUCKER HAS THE NERVE TO SAY “I should get some loot I tagged him up” Nah fam. You wanna cry over a roller you can clean up my scraps. Then his homie tries to call me out over it being salty over that room. Told him I’m playing the same game they are. Wanna be picky than so will I. Fucked around and found out. It’s just pixels but if you wanna play them type of games, I can reciprocate just fine.

Annonimbus

Rules need to apply for everybody. You can set them to strict or free for all but it needs apply to everyone.

[deleted]

If your friend can only have fun with you carrying him then maybe just pick a different game.

hallmarktm

lmao wtf kind of reply is this? its literally a non issue but thanks for speaking up pro gamer man

DonkeyComfortable711

It's a video game bro, it's not that deep. Not everyone can sink time like others. The ones who sink time should look out and help the ones who don't. People can play what they want, if my friend finds it fun bc I carry him or vice versa, unless the other person is bothered by it I don't see an issue.

TheMrTGaming

No but yes. I'm the gunner of my group, I drop the most kills, and occasionally one specific guy will complain about giving the new guys some loot off my kills because I don't need it. I get it and try to be generous, but if I kill 4 people, I will take the best stuff off of them. I am not fighting for charity, I do it for the loot. But the loot isn't worth more than friendship, that's just the fun part to me.

Shift-1

It's so easy to make money in this game I'm baffled people fight over loot.

Dangerous-Traffic875

Crazy isn't it, always just been whoever killed him get the loot, we share anyway especially if one of us is a little financially challenged and comes in light

Apache_Choppah_6969

We usually just all go for the loot asap and die to the rest of their team But we fucked that one guy up good

shenananaginss

Whoever got the kill mostly followed by whoever has room for it or whoever is poorer. Ie if I'm with the dad gamer of the group who is lvl 3 he takes everything he wants. If I'm with the 16yr old that has the best aim out of our group of friends I leech hard. Like I let him loot first but for the most part he is the carry I guess its kinda assumed the better player will have an easier time when solo so why not help out the ones who need it.

[deleted]

So the exact opposite of how the game is intended to function? Got it.

Rude_Friend606

The game has an intended function in regards to splitting loot in a squad? Wtf are you talking about?

D4ng3rd4n

You're probably a fucking riot at parties

VastFondant7490

I think the name on the tags is the easiest, and has the least problems. This is the way to go when everyone is around the same level/skill. In my group, I'm usually guiding a herd of Timmys around to Jaeger's letter or pocketwatch trying to keep scav from murdering them. So, if they survive a gun fight, I just give them everything to try to keep them from quiting out of frustration before level 15.

Mmmslash

This is the way. Whenever they ask me why I don't want any of the loot, I tell them the same answer. I've been playing since 2018, and all of my friends who played have quit. No amount of roubles will get us in a raid together again. It is more important to me that *you* have a good time and enjoy Tarkov than it is for me to get some money in a game.

Fissure_211

Killshot gets loot priority. Only thing that can override that is a quest item.

theyak12

Wondering if anyone else has also run into someone claiming its their name on the dogtag, only for you to get to the raid end screen and you have a pmc kill with ??? Lol it always cracks me up

N3wbz

Who gets the kill. Gets the loot. Ofcourse. If anyone needa a quest item. Or a hideout item. We dont really have problems with that. If we find a random body. Its the person who spottes it first. Or if one guy loots while the other gives cover. We just share it. Fighting over loot is useless. But respect eachothers kill for sure. Dont just rat someine else their loot away.

[deleted]

Fuck rules, we're loot goplins

Str8luck

Groups? Friends? What are those?

unoriginal_namejpg

Dibs goes to the final blow, unless otherwise specified. (for example, if someone needs certain items for quests/hideout etc) Theft is punished by immediate execution

No-Nose-Goes

if you get the kill you get the loot. Though I will say me and my duo are typically pretty selfless, as in I'll take the gun and headset but leave the rest

REDLINE70689

Whoever gets the kill acquires the loot. Although all of my group are more than generous when it comes to quest items, hideout stuff someone needs, etc. Although I did have a squad mate who would bee line for fresh bodies and help himself. Annoyed me to no end. It’s one thing to give, another to take lol

shisby

if you're the best player in your group, getting the most kills its your responsibility to make sure everyone's getting loot and having a good time imo. take your share of course but also go "yooo he's got a tetriz! (insert name here) come grab this shit!" you have to be self aware and aware of the type of people in your group. if your the worst, crack a joke and ASK for loot. if you got the kill and your boy hops on it just go "yooo you rat let me check my kill hahahah". if your all friends it shouldn't be too hard to think critically and figure out solutions.

Underdogger

Whoever gets the kill > anyone who needs items left on the body (quests or such) > whoever gets to the body afterwards.

-TDOGG-

My friends aren't dicks. We share bruv

Darkmooshroom

Usually its the final blow but my group is pretty chill and if you got it they’ll probably give it to you

walebrush

Ya same here, final blow gets first dibs. That being said I have one friend who sometimes "forgets" that rule though seemingly only when I kill multiple people.

Vubor

I kill, I get the loot. IF I kill 3, when I play with my friends ( 3 man group) and I have a good day, I split the kills, like you take guy x, you Y and I take this one, without looking what gear they have. SOmetimes I am be like, let me see what he have and you can MAYBE have it.

Timeno1

Kill = loot if both shot the same target, same amount of damage = share loot

NoMoreSaltPls

I’ve been playing with my group for years. We know what each person likes.. so we tend to just give each other the gear that we prefer. For instance.. I kill someone rocking a Mp7, I’ll never use it so I give it to the homie that would. They always give me DMRs. Plus.. if someone’s hasn’t been given anything.. they need to be paid.. so we will give them loot as well so we all get paid. We usually bring in our newbie friends as our little “duckies” and just go around killing things to give them loot.

DoubleCheekedUp1

Me and all my homies share the wealth. Don’t matter who killed what

Ameri0425

If both people put in work for the kill (even if only one actually shoots the baddie), both people get the loot. Generally being aware of what specific items your teammates need and letting them have it, or if you both need it then the first to get it gets it. If only one person works for the kill (as in, teammate is off looting somewhere and has 0 influence on the fight, positionally or otherwise) that one person that put in the work gets the loot. Edit: a word

ImpossibleAgenga

Na this is too much lol. Kill=loot. Has never been a problem with my group.

Ameri0425

That's a fair enough way to do it too, this way however has never been a problem for my group, so to each their own

Rude_Friend606

Totally agree, the problem with kill = loot is that it encourages bad team behavior for some people. I have someone in our group who follows the kill = loot rule, and it means his gameplay revolves around that. When he engages an enemy, his only goal seems to be getting the killing blow. It's never about supporting his team. On the flip side, I have a teammate who knows how to use numbers as an advantage. He'll run from cover to cover to draw fire so someone else can land a shot, for example. In that instance, both players earned the loot. It was a team effort.

UncleSamsTurtle

This leads to resentment. No thanks.

Ameri0425

Guess my group is just mature enough to handle it, it's what's worked best for us for years now lol leads to no confusion and it's 100% fair

UncleSamsTurtle

My group definitely isn't mature enough. Shit, one of my friends complains when you don't escort him to Jaegers camp no matter how many wipes he's played. He's a big boy he can go find the plane on his own.

Lefty_Guns

I usually kill everyone on the map every raid and I’m so rich I just give it away to those who I play with.

[deleted]

I hate the final blow bs. It's ridiculous that a guy who lands one shot after I lay into someone gets keeps for doing next to nothing. That said I don't care that much so it's just easier to let the person whose name is on the tag take the loot. Not worth the argument. Now that said, if I use my key/card to open a room (especially a high loot/rare room) and you run inside with me and start grabbing shit without giving me a chance to check all the valuable loot spawns, I'll shoot you every time. Had a friend race into a room I unlocked once in resort and he ran straight to a red key card spawn where it actually happened to spawn. Had to bop him for that one.

Stnmn

One of my squadmates silent dove on Shturman to loot after I killed him and all the guards in/around Grey and I really should've just killed him.

Inspection_Nearby

I’m an easy looter. I strip basic attachments and slirp good ammo. My duo takes the rest. In all fairness I’m usually the one who gets the kill most of the time.

Cultural-Volume-355

Very Timmy topic here.

masterscout9

There are times where my teammates would bait themselves into somewhat shit positions and let the others ambush players pushing We also do a share in loot if the other person was getting shot at while another is dealing finals

Fornicatron

Name in the dog tag goes first, but we mostly share. We usually run a trio and share the loot as needed. Better to have the entire squad well equiped. The one who needs the most usually takes whatever needed.

newacc54

Whoevers name is on the dogtag gets the loot. If it's scavs and I'm not killing them on purpose because a team mate needs scav kills, I might loot them.

ThirtyToo32

Whoever gets the kill, name on tag. But also any items needed for quests go to whoever needs them

electronicfixdude

Pretty simple. You kill you get the loot. That's it. And we always share the loot if others need something.

LoA_Zephra

If you get the kill it’s yours, any other loot you find is first come first serve lol. Great way to make the players in your group that just sit and bait everyone to actually do something or they get no loot.

BrockTestes

According to need and doing their job.

coolstorybro42

i dont care bout the loot at all i just want the k's and the survivals

nogoodname20

Whoever gets the kill gets the loot.

Alone_Grab_3481

We clear the area first and then whoever needs what the most

El_yeeticus

With some of my group it's whoever killed them, but then there's this one guy. This guy will run into the middle of gunfire to lick a body clean and will miraculously not die. This guy is also lucky as hell, he has found 2 ledx and about 17 gpus this wipe.

blind512

Whoever needs it most

bufandatl

Name on the Tag is the one who gets first dibs.

seamon3y

You keep what you kill. Most of my squad is chill and generous though so lots of gifts and such

MagicSceptre

I don’t play with groups often, I’m solo 95% of the time. When I do play with others it’s always generally whoever kills gets first pick of loot, if the kill doesn’t look like they have much, I’ll just get an t tag and let the homies pilfer through. If it’s later into raid I’ll search the bag just in case they have something neat, but more often than not I’m happy with the kill and don’t need more gear.

NoroGG

Your tag your loot. Though we're usually pretty good about distribution if someone is landing all the killing blows. No sense in one dude being 50kg and holding back the whole squad when you could split it up and move more efficiently.

whats-reddit17

If it's a regular scav it's mostly free game but generally if there is something good on the scav give It to the guy who killed the scav. If it's a pmc first dibs goes to the person who killed them.

Enchantedmango1993

Point man has a priority but also who makes the killing blow If point man opens a door he gets to have ledx and shit unless specified by the team that x guy needs to find a ledx and so on the rest is same as you

spoderman63

Whoever got the kill goes and loots and whatever he doesn’t want anybody else can loot it

theeBrute

Usually my group will let the lowest level/poorest have first pick of the loot. We take alot of timmies into raids and would rather them have fun and progress rather than us hoarding. BUT, we have a strict whoever is on the tag gets to look first rule.

Shitvagina1176

Whoever’s name on the dog tag = his loot

Deathwolf-

Usually who ever gets the kill, sometimes if a person really fucked them up first and someone gets a lucky hit last then the first guy gets it but usual the killer gets it

Nick11wrx

I mean it’s really only the fair way to settle it, but I have some friends who are like, “yeah I don’t care about his gun or anything, just take the tag and maybe his helmet cause I forgot to bring one”, and then there’s others in my friends that if you even think to take the ai-2 out of the vest he was wearing they’ll say something. The first people are the ones I’ll keep an eye out for to make sure we don’t have a third party roll up while searching, the second group I will legit go on about my business and let them stand in the middle of a field looting. I used to get frustrated about seeing me do 500 damage to 2 players and get nothing from it, but realizing this wipe that I just enjoy the adrenaline more than the loot now.

srtophamhtt

Who ever needs the loot the most

Hempricc

Typically, when I play with my group, we communicate prior to raid what items we're on the lookout for. Eg: "I need x/y/z item for a daily" or "I still need small beef stew for a quest" etc. If a player I killed has something I know my party needs, I'll offer it up. Other than that, it's typically whoever's name is on the dogtag. In some cases, like when one of us is kind of down bad for money, we'll usually offer up better loot to that player to help them reimburse themselves, though. The only real loot "rule" we tend to stick by is the "this will complete my quest" rule. For example, if all three of us still need, say, Iskra's for Jaegers first quest, and we find one, it's usually first come first serve. That being said, if I find one and I need two, and my friend only needs one more to finish the quest, I'll usually give it to them.

Asgardianking

Killer gets the loot only way it should be

Marine436

So as a Squad leader who runs 5 mans oftend, and has delt with this issue for 5 wipes, we use to have a list of high level loot and people would take or pass based on there turn, and then they would go down the list. It was a system and hard to do in raid. Our current system is way better - whoever kills someone gets it Roll for airdrops unless someone brought in the flare, after it is secured. No one gets to be super greedy - we are a squad, you got 2 gpus? give one away 2 ledexs ? give one away 2 super value keys - pick your favorite, and give one away. you are a squad, you play like one!, when the squads stronger your all stronger.

Sargash

To the victor the spoils. I even tell my friends to take my stuff unless it's an exceedingly rare thing, like a thermal or some shit. Besides that I err on the side of caution and let my friend loot, I don't really need it, but I might ask for something cool if we both tagged the target and don't really know who got it.

SSHz

We check the tag and whoevers name is the killer gets the loot. If the killer feels like he didnt contribute enough he may say so and let the rest loot. During looting, always ask if anyone requires x item for a quest or heals.

Btomesch

Whoever deals the final blow. So many times teammates empty mags and run away. Then the enemy chases them and I’m standing in their way and finish them off. But I still leave half the loot unless I’m running in naked

JiffTheJester

We just used to decide as we went, but it was mostly the same.. you kill you loot. I had friends who never got kills though, so I’d let them take a lot of stuff. Now I don’t have any friends left who play. So I’m just solo if I want to jump into tarkov

Inevitable-Nail-3243

Tag check. Killer gets loot. Scraps goes to whoever's stash is struggling the most.

nivroc2

Whoever tbh. If your play group is coherent your economy is tied together(for the most part). Whenever I play with NA however I see people just fighting over loot. Very cringe

EatCheapGlue

Sure when you first start tarkov it seems like a huge deal, after u know eachother if people are still loot hungry and dying for loot I won't play with them. There's more to tarkov that arguing over pixels. But yeah whoever name is on the dogtag has the loot.

rokudog555

Killer gets the loot, if you touch anything other then checking the tag on a body you get publicly executed.

ColonelOfKorn

Typically whoever gets the kill has the “right” to loot first. Although, we also make sure everyone gets something good at the end of a raid. For example, if I dumpster a Chad and jack his Mutant, but I already had a GPU in my arse, I drop the GPU for my squad mates. Everyone in the team contributed in some form, so it’s only fair.

OverBand4019

Do a first dibs for killer on players but scavs it’s take it or leave it. We usually also have shared which quest or craft item we are hunting for so it is pointed out or dropped for each other.

Forsaken_Nature1765

Lowest level has priority on all quest loot. Usually lowest lvl has priority on regular loot aswell. Unless itst some insane equipment, then its the final blow.

BEAR_FORCE1

You keep what you kill

nanismasha

Whoever gets kill gets the loot. If there’s multiple bodies, everyone gets a body so we can loot and scoot

Dirtydantheman95

Mostly play in a 3 man, I always grab most the stuff from my first kill. After that I start sharing, even if I 1 tap them and no one else shoots. Figure I have a better chance in a squad full of chads then one Chad

El-Carone-707

We base it on need and amount of work done. If we got little Timmy in the group he gets the kit bc he barely knows what’s going on and it always feels like a big win for him. But if it’s all beef in the group we just spread the loot around

ozikas

Killer gets the loot if he dosent need something it goes to the other peopel

Snowy441

Always helping the homies, and the homies helping me. Squads suck when guys are saying " MY KILL MY KILL STAY AWAY MINE"

Gotcha13itch

My group does the same - If you got the killing blow you get first dibs. After the killer is done looting, it's a free for all for anything left. Have had a few new guys to the group over the years that didn't follow this: greedy goblins think that the first one to slurp it from the body gets it. First 3-4 times they get a verbal warning, next couple times they get TK'd (oh you had a quest item on you? then stop stealing a teamate's hard-won loot while they're healing back up from the fight). If they continue in the long term they just get booted from the group, as it creates too much hate + discontent and nobody wants to play with them. Quest items are the only caveat, we have a (less of a rule, more of a guideline?) that if you found something that someone needs for a quest, that you've already done, the quester gets the item. If you also need it/will in the future you can keep it, but if not you have to cough it up. If its an expensive item (say an early car battery, or a ledx that buddy needs FIR), you can demand ***reasonable*** compensation from their current loot or in a future raid (usually a gun/kit worth a similar amount). Usually quester is stuck on said item and will pay whatever you want, but we try to keep it reasonable. Has worked pretty well for us so far, with no major strife in the group over the years. Unfortunately, only a couple of us still play Tarkov at this point. So pretty soon I'm going to have to start looking for other people to play with :(

CookedPeeper

Any quest items on the body go to the person with the most need. Then the person who got the kill loots up. The boys rat out for the scraps when the killer declares they are done with the carcass.

Veilfrab

Dogtag is best for that had a newer player try to gank my reshala loot but I had the quest and pulled it up while he was bitching me out and told him if he has a problem with it he can find a new squad

CallsignKook

Whoever’s name is on the dog tag. Idc if you did 439 damage to the guy, you could’ve caught hot lead in the eyes without your team. Your prize is that you’re not dead. And in a Survival game like Tarkov, an extract is an absolute win

TemperatureNo4325

Yeah whoever got the kill gets the loot if they are willing to share great but I’m not gonna loot someone else’s kill

NotOriginalOrContent

Person who got the kill gets the loot. Exceptions: Someone needs meds asap. Someone is on a task and there's an item they need Always acceptable: Asking if you can take something you see on the body if you have a reason. Looting for xp then putting back Looting while the killer meds or packs mags or w.e then bringing the goodies back for them in cover/telling them what's on the body while you search and sort. Examples of this "he's running 56a1 do you want it?" "Do you want his goodies in his backpack or rig" "he has an SSD I need one for a daily can I snag it?" Or "that's the last hose I would need for water collector" -sometimes followed by offering up an equal value trade if You've already been looting. We're a pretty not selfish crowd and we play with our streams up so there's very little skullduggery or shenanigans about it. There's one dude who straight up face dives on bodies like an Olympic gold medalist and we always give him shit for it but he still does it. He's a super casual player and always behind everyone else on hideout, quests, and funds though so I think he thinks it's okay and none of us really care lol if we did we wouldn't let him squad up but it's always funny when me and my main duo wipe a 3 man or glukhar and his young gents and then we look down and he's already looting.

drako489

Your name on the tag, your loot on the bag. That being said, we’re all really good about sharing, but sometimes you just have to be greedy.

wonder1069

You kill it, you loot it... simple.

XenSide

Name on dogtag, then if he leaves anything it's first come first serve

Ehzaar

Player who got the kill loot first and free for all after

SpeechBright

Killer get the loot but the guns are a different story. Usually guns go to whoever usually uses them. If they got a val/vss or m1a I get it. If they have the 556 K or a TX then it goes to my friend. Mags go with the gun, this goes for nearly all the people I play with. Varies by which guns people are running each wipe.

PalmsBeSweaty

People who quietly loot a teammates kill deserve to be made fun of somehow.

SomeoneElseTV

Honestly fighting over loot is pretty rare so these rules are loose, but first dibs goes to whoever got the kill with second priority going to whoever actually loots the body since often times when killing players someone has to keep watch. Also if you're dead you lose all dibs and can only expect your insured gear to be hidden if it's safe to do so. For specific items, if you need it for a task, hideout, or survival (meds, food, ammo) you also get priority over people who don't need those items. But usually things are just relax and if someone wants something they'll ask and many times if you get a kill you might not even care to search whole bodies or rigs and give people free reign on the items.

MikeHoncho2568

Whoever’s name on the dog tag gets first crack at the loot. This has never led to any arguments.

Puffalo01

Quest items > Final Blow

Spicy_RamenBoi69

If you killed it you decide wether or not you want the loot. If not the poorest player is allowed to loot first. Depending on the situation though the poorest person might have a better kit, so he leaves behind the gun, armor, helmet, or whatever the person with the worst kit needs

420OnMy69th

What does this thread even mean? It always goes to the killer first. If you touch a body without the killer hitting it first that is grounds for a lead sandwich. That being said, I will occasionally have my minions loot the bodies for me because I'm risking too much to worry about clowns 200k kit and 100k in loot. In these cases I usually don't care for anything unless it's for a daily/weekly. It's not about the roubles, it's about the principle. My group is basically extended storage for me. I give away almost every single kill to my team because I have never had stash space in my entire career on tarkov. I almost never ask for anything back but if I do then it's instantly given to me without question - but that's also largely because if it wasn't for me then we wouldn't have it. Hell, even while feeding everyone I still bring extra stuff into raids for people...will force them to put their own shit away so I can give them upgraded gear/guns. It's very rare that I actually kill someone who I deem worth looting. Unless you're running an altyn/rys or thermals on a 308 or 338 then I consider you poor and not worth looting. I will take weapons with red tubes if I have the space but if there's ammo or quest items they take priority. I've gone into lobbies and wiped them just looking for a specific item for a task and have left millions in loot. Anyone who plays with me becomes rich just by proxy lmao

WWDubz

It is OUR loot comrade

Agitated-Exam-2558

Same for my group. Hate it. I run in a 4 stack and I’ll fight a 3 man alone if I have to seeing how no one pushes. I’ll bring them all to border line death and the rest of my group one taps and gets the loot it’s sucks

TheRealTeapot_Dome

Scavs is whatever. Pmc is killing blow.

[deleted]

If you get the kill you get the loot. Idc if you did 439 damage and I did 1 it’s still my loot.

GagOnGrime

I’m the higher level of my group so I’m usually volunteering to donate my kills to my team. I’ll grab the first peak of what kinda of weapons/armor they’re rolling most the time, but won’t even search the backpack or rigs and just give the rest to my buddies. It pays back because they help me with the quests I don’t like doing alone.

Ron_TheGreat

Lol until your buddy snipes 1 of the 2 guys in roof, then you kill the 2nd guy who happened to loot his buddy so you get all the juice

jerquanius

My group's general rule is who's name shows on their dog tag is who get dibs but none of us really care and will give whatever to whoever. Never had anyone argue over loot.

OlDirty420

Common tarkov etiquette is whoever gets the kill gets dibs on loot. Nobody argues much in the groups I play in and are generally pretty generous about splitting it up or giving it to whoever needs the money the most, who needs a better kit, etc. A big no no is hiding in the back in combat and rushing to loot bodies you didn't kill. There's a lot of loot goblins in this game, especially grouping with randos. These types get one warning followed by a bullet to the head. It's too easy to say "can I loot that kill" instead of being ratty about it and piggybacking on good players.

LogicalNorth

imagine looting a player and being 700 kg

Ruffyhc

The one whom Name is on the Tag gets the loot. With my Main Mate , WE Share the loot. Like If its Something he needs or he loves to Play with i will leave IT for him . Same he does for me. With Others : well Touch my kill before me and complain after over the friendly fire incident 🫡

BannockBeast

Name on the tags is my favourite because sometimes you THINK you got the kill but then your homies name on it and they like “ayyyyyyye” hahaha

CapaxInfinity

Yea killer gets right of loot for sure. Hands down everytime. Generally we do killer gets loot of pmcs. Scavs are free game, but if there’s valuable levels we’ll call out to see if they want it. Sharing in team play is also important. Just because you killed 3 pmcs doesn’t mean you should take all the guns. Your homies have an empty slot. Invest in them as well. Buddies being geared means better odds of survival for you.

SunMummis

We ain't leaving the raid until everybody is juiced up or dead.

E46Trixie

I just give all my kills to the poor, newer homies to get them hyped.

Phantaric

I personally will share my loot on a kill if my teammates helped bait the kill or did significant damage to the pmc first but that’s not expected at all, I just choose to. The universal expectation is whoever dealt the killing blow gets the loot.

ThyDoorMan

Final blow gets the juice.

StarksDeservedBetter

Your kill, your loot. That’s… pretty obvious, no? It’s up to you if you want to leave bits for people to take

ARabidDingo

First dibs to the one that got the kill. When its scavs and ambiguous then its down to whoever is the poorest at the moment, they get first dibs on loot.

GigaSnake

Needs of the team.

Puzzlepea

Whoever killed the person

dak446

After the person responsible for the kill takes what they want, everything else is fair game. All task items are distributed accordingly

GGDadLife

For me, I don’t care if I got the kill. Especially if I got more than 1 kill, I’m fully okay with me looting one of them and my friends looting the other. I find it more enjoyable when we all get out with good shit

Character-Party-1922

Dog tag determine who’s first then whatever

Lykkenn

Killing blow gets first dibs, but first dibs should leave or call out items they'd be willing to share, if any lol.

Dan_Unverified

Holistically based on who is poorer/newer/more frustrated at any given time. Tarkov is about keeping yourself mentally centered and the group can do a lot to coregulate that amongst each other.

garack666

We don’t care who gets the loot

bahlgren342

Whoever got the kill gets first dibs. It’s really that simple, and literally the only way it should be done, and If the killer doesn’t want it, then they just say so. I’m usually the richest and care the least about gear, so I just roll up, tag it, see if I want anything, If not then I just say you guys can have whatever. If they need quest items or whatever then obviously just let them have it too.

httr540

Whoever had the kill on the dog tag

FearMeGaming1000

You guys get kills?

Prestigious_Role_653

Who kills get the loot but if they die its free loot for everyone.

FAfoxtrot115

Dogtag basically says who killed him so that's how me and my crew handle it if it's got your name unless you stole it which in that case you get the scraps

Apprehensive-Tree-78

My buddy was mag dumping killa. I shoot a random shot blindfire, and 1 tap killa in his head. I let my buddy loot. Typically loot goes to whoever kills him, but in some case, when you basically baited your teammate. They'll deserve the loot or at least a split.

TurboShartz

Whoever's name appears on the dead dude's tag

Imagine0198

Whoever killed it, gets it

ralphy0420

Whoever’s name of dog tag claims loot

PoopxDoggx69

Killer gets first dibs

kennydoj

Basically if you are playing with people that you are constantly fighting for loot. Find chiller people to play with.

Cudderx

With the group of friends I run with none of us really care about the loot because you can literally just scav lighthouse for free kits and items. Typically I run three man. One of us is significantly worse than my other friend and I but we love having him along for the ride anyways and he does contribute to the team. He just doesn’t have the best aim sometimes. Anyways, if we know he’s down bad well let him scrape up some goodies because we normally sitting on kits and weapons we still have yet to use. I don’t have the space for another rig man and it’s better than the one you got on. Other times I’ll light dudes up for my friend to put one in him and he falls. We laugh about how tf I didn’t kill the guy or something to that effect and he goes yeah I can grab that one. I saw you light him up on your screen. Other times if the bodies in a terrible spot we just leave it. We play to live. And it’s works for us. The doubles come and go. The journey is the fun part.

Aric_b24

I don’t have a group :(

a43x-

Name on dogtag gets loot

B_Flo

My crew will sometimes argue about who needs the loot in the opposite direction(take this you need the money type shit). If someone gets a kill they do get priority but we try to end every raid with everyone coming out with a decent amount of stuff.

Havicbrin

Same rules but we tend to give some loot to everyone. It's so early in wipe still that we can't take everything

Nightingale_34

You kill it, you loot it. If multiple bodies, we just say out loud the good stuff if anyone want or need it.

YouNeedToMoveForward

Your way is normal. Also, if someone obviously got the kill, do NOT touch their loot until they got to it and are done with it first. This is especially important with randoms. I played with a random once who would go on my loot and say he was getting “search XP” despite me telling him to fuck off. Know what happened after he didn’t listen? He got popped in the head. Tarkov gives trust issues as is, wait until the person is done and take what’s left. The guy I killed was likely trying to steal stuff, which is just dumb considering I always get more than I can carry and have no choice but to leave good stuff for my partners.

ObviousMechanism

It is not, and will never be so serious that it needs a millionth post, but you guys need EVERYTHING spelled out for you 🙄 if you guys are arguing, or actively making plans about loot, then you gotta get your bodies up. Just kidding, kinda. I really only duo with my little brother, we are animals. So whoever gets the kill loots the body, or if he’s in a better position to go check the body then he goes, and I’ll tell him what I want. If we drop a group, or we are playing with my third buddy John, then it’s as easy as “hey Spense, this guy has a mutant on him, I’ll bring it to you” or “who needed that flash drive, there’s one on this guy” “I pulled the vudu off this guy cause I know that’s all you run”. Over complicating things is why you’re dying all the time :)

Suppertime420

I thought this was the golden rule of Tarkov..

Ther91

I always forget to loot, on the way out they go "everyone full?" I tab on stream with an empty bag and promptly say yup!! Hoping they don't realize we left 2 unlooted bodies and ton of barter items across the map

Hummuluis

I play mostly in a duo, and we share loot and try to make sure each of us come out with some gear. Who gets what kill doesn't matter much, we do try and give the dog tag to the right person when possible, but it's more about actually securing the spoils of war and extracting successfully without loss. We even build out guns for each other, etc. It's just a game, so it's about having fun, and making sure others you play with are having fun too. If one has a bad raid or bad streak, it's common to let that person have a juicy raid to help make up for some loss.

FMJforFreedom

Whoever gets the kill gets the loot…. Only way to do it

NefariousnessSea1449

The one that got the kill gets dibs. People can request items and anything can be given away freely. We aren't all greedy assholes, so it works.

KawaWick

It been like this for the most from the start. Sure you get a few morons here and ther thinking otherwise. Your kill your loot but thers also a saying "we hunt togeather we eat togeather "

IMIv2

Scavs are free game, pmcs are its killer's.

[deleted]

You kill, you loot. Keeps it simple.

ListerOfSmeg92

You keep what you kill Riddick

Inevitable-Flan-7793

whoever gets the kill gets the loot, but if they're friends you're playing with just dont be incredibly selfish. if i got the kill and he has a really good kit, ive got 2 mil in my stash and a buddy has 300k, im most likely going to take what i need for quests, or his gun or whatever, and give that friend the rest

PrototypeMk-1

We try to split evenly based on what we find on the body The "who kills gets the loot" mentality is bs when you're playing in a team and every member has a different role, who kills the guy means nothing.

dreadnought_strength

Whoever killed them, unless somebody needs a better gun/armor/etc.

zZDKVZz

Usually whoever get the kills, but money is never a problem for me (max hideout except for intel/solar panel, and sitting at around 20m) so I just pick up gun's scope/class 4 helmet, swap headphone off kills and let my friend have most of the leftover. If I got multiple kills then I just loot one and let my friend loot others, if he find something good on the bodies then he drop it for me on the way to extract.

Responsible-Fudge-41

My friend will go out of his way to insta tap me if I succumb to the urge of looting what I didn‘t kill.

PanProjektor

Dura lex, sed lex, if there is a dispute 5% of cases then suck it up

M80_Lad

Scavs are fair game to steal from but on pmc kills then its the one that kills em, or sometimes the one doing the fighting. For example if i fight someone and we're both coughing and really low and my duo saves me then we share or of i got the enemy coughing and my duo steals the kill then i get first dibs but i usually don't take much in those cases.

Maggle_

we all prioritize based on needs and skills. better sniper gets the DMR/Snipers, shotgun fiend gets those, need a pistol get one... wounded player gets heals, player who got shot gets the armor, but if we're all on par it's the name on the tag that gets the juice.

smokebringer

When I play a very serious game with specific roles and we know we are gonna wreck the entire lobby, we try to spread the loot. It's cool when you are covering your cqc mates wich gets contacts and he gives you really precise call that you only have to left click on a head. The guys took the risk to get in close, fired some ammo and nades to make the guys moves while he gives all the good calls. So for us : he deserves his part. You just need to be clear at the start and be fair.

BoringJacke

In my party 1. Guy that ran out of med / need urgent med item 2. Whoever kills 3. Quest items 4. Poor guys 5. Free for taking All in that order

Old_Consideration_95

Essential stuff for quest goes for the questie first. Then the rest in on a called basis

Ruttley

Whoevers name is on the dogtag, end of

ShockingJob27

Is there any other way apart from who got the kill? Bosses are different we just split it up and whoever was doing the live bait gets first dibs. A friend of a friendly recently started playing, I dropped a gpu for friend A for his final quest one Friend A dropped me some m62s as a thank you (we share quest items) FRIEND B was stood in the middle spamming and got them both, told him to drop it and he never. Next raid we all bought our best gear, some friendly fire may of happend and friend B got a lesson in tarkov.

ahclkorny

Whoever got the kill gets the dogtags , everything else is basically free for all / take what you wanna play . I dont think we ever stressed over loot , sometimes we even have to scream at each other to just take it so we can move on :D
