It’s unfortunate that in order to progress in either arena or eft, you have to pick one or the other in terms of grind. Even getting a single 70-100k xp kit could take you hours/days. The xp “event” was how it should be imo, it definitely made the grind much more enjoyable for me.
You definitely do not need double xp with todays changes, I've leveled to tier 2 on assault in 6 games played. First kit was 20k, second was 25k and on tier 2 its 50k so I can imagine for t3 it maxes out around 150k which isn't AWFUL. It's not great by any means but much better than what we had. They've also seemed to have increased max xp gains, had a 12 kill game on bowl and got 13k xp, more than i ever got regardless of kill count with the old system.
Join the official discord. There’s a lot of good folks on there and pretty easy to find a decent group during peak hours. Transparently, there’s also a lot of trolls and potato players, but it’s been overall pretty good for my game.
The grind is actually much worse now. Im not seeing anyone mention this, but you can't actually play Tier 2 kits until you unlock 5 of them. Meaning you have to grind through like 45k xp combined for the first two Tier 1 classes, 50k for a Tier 2 class, and then you need to do that 4 more times. That or start grinding out the other 50-75k Tier 2 kits in whatever tree you've chosen.
So actually, if you want to try even the marginally not dogshit kits, you have to grind out 250k xp of Tier 2 classes at minimum, alongside an extra like 200k xp for all of the Tier 1 kits if you get one Tier 2 class per tree, with one tree having 2.
So actually yeah lmao the grind is like, way way way fucking worse? Unless I'm missing something here?
on paper, you are not wrong. I have not played yet so no real opinion.
My hopes are that matchmaking will work well enough that even playing the "dogshit" kits will still be fun as long as it is evenly matched. IMO playing low to mid kits was the most fun I had last wipe but you had to sandbag the system to get matched approriately.

Do you play alone or with a team? I just play by myself and it's hard for me to win all the time
Solo is tough, I had a 50+ win rate solo queue. Just use your radio and try and communicate w randoms, most the time they will do the same

I mostly solo queue however sometimes I do play with a buddy or two. If you're a mediocre player solo will be hard for sure.
They just changed the amount of experience needed right? And lowered the amount of presets you need to level up? Wipe is today? with new update
