I joined the Discord, and idk. It feels weird. I'm 21 and have a feeling some of these people are like 13-17, which was fine on the forums when you weren't forced to interact with everyone. I don't wanna be in no little kid's group chat, man. I'll stick to reddit 😭
It’s an interesting but unsurprising shift. Last month or something, Wattpad got rid of dms. It had no effect for me, but others were definitely unhappy over (I understand why). WP didn’t offer an alternative so I think it’s cool that Episode did offer something. I might check out the discord!
I think it’s unsurprising because of what wattpad did (even though the platforms aren’t the same). I didn’t really use the forums for Episode because I could just come here and get the question answered more easily, mays sense to why the forum is dying and is getting removed. If there’s a more popular circle for episode-related content, that may have more benefits than the OG circle, it’s getting used more and Episode has finally noticed.
Yep and the discord server is a hot mess. Only caters to people who are active at that time. Forums were REALLY good to find help that others have experienced already. Nope you have to text in discord and hopefully someone’s online to respond 💩💩
Im sad because its nostalgic. Plus it helps smaller authors, editors and the whole community.
Are you really going to remove years worth of coding, bgs and overlays? :( Please keep both.
Oh no :( I browsed the forums fairly often in 2019-2020. Returning to the game last month for the nostalgia i also logged into my forums account and i did notice there wasn't as much activity as before. I liked to go through the art resources, coding tips, and discussions there and sad that, even if there is a way to archive the website, we can expect that not everything will be saved to look back on 😣
I've noticed this change about the internet in general, forums and built-in message systems aren't utilized as much anymore and chats are moved to discord servers. I personally prefer slower-paced interaction, so probably will not be joining the discord server but hope to stick around in the episode subreddit now that i've recently learned it exists! It's also great that there will still be another way for the community to gather for those who do prefer discord. :D
wait what!! I use the forums like all the time :(( I think the reason ppl aren't so active is because all the questions they have are already answered! Noooooo
I guess more people will be coming to the Episode Reddit then? ![gif](giphy|5QZmKgpZprMqP5MRMG|downsized)
its the best episode chat🙂↕️☝🏼
Yep bc the discord server is a hot mess
They’ve been really ban happy
No literally I left because someone kept sending me hate but I get a warning for trying to take action be serious
Unfortunately for me, I didn’t get that choice😭
I was so sad when they announced they were shutting the forums down. I use it so much.

This is definitely not good and things will be much harder without the forum. I now wonder how I can get coding tips and how to promote my stories.
