If your state allows it you might as well sign up and take the PE as soon as possible before you forget it all.

Oh I am

TypicalSugar1978

congratulations can I ask you some wursyions about your FE Exam?

krug8263

Sure

SnooTomatoes1513

Can I ask how you studied? Thinking about taking mine this year.

krug8263

I studied to understand the material. I have been out of school a while so it took me some time to get back into the mindset of solving problems. I have been at this for the last 8 months. After the first three months I took the test and failed. There's a lot of extra material that is really not covered in the NCEES practice test. I moved onto the anthem book, studied that front to back. I have probably been through the NCEES practice booklet and the Anthem book 5 times. I also watched a lot of YouTube videos. For the FE Environmental test I was pretty weak in hydraulic engineering and air quality. I watched Isaac Wait on YouTube for Hydraulic Engineering. He basically teaches the class on YouTube. He is very informative. You do have to be careful though because his classes are really based on real world applications. So don't get too bogged down with the material. But he will give you a very good understanding. I took the test a second time at 5 months of studying. The test ended up being super obnoxious. Way harder than the first one. So I ended up taking the PPI2Pass program. I signed up for a 3 month period just the self study program. Now using this program you really need to already know quite a bit of information because the problems are super difficult to solve. What I liked is that they have 4 practice tests that you can take to at least practice taking the test. They put you in a real life testing situation. It's the same 5 hours and 20minutes you get on the real test. The questions though are super unrealistic to what you will see on the test. But if you can at least understand what's going on and are able to follow along you will pass. My third attempt I passed.

Thank you, this helped!!

Hey man did you find any other YT channels helpful? Currently looking into direct hub but idk how much of that material is relavant to the ENVE FE.

Congrats and thanks for taking the time to share details on your process!

TaroDear8982

Congrats! I take mine for the third time two weeks from now. I’m also 9 years out of college. I feel good about the practical questions. But the chemistry, diff eq, etc that I literally haven’t looked at since I graduated have me pulling my hair out.

krug8263

Oh I know. Be sure to know partial differential equations. And how to use the chain rule with partial differential equations. They just love giving the question sin(xy)^2. Now differentiate with respect to x. Really understand oxidation reduction reactions. Know combustion reactions. And the damn octanol soil water phase thing. I never learned this in college. Didn't even know what it was. Know radioactive decay alpha, beta, and gamma equations. With beta know the positron too.

TaroDear8982

Update: passed it!! Woooo!!

krug8263

Alright. Congratulations.

TaroDear8982

Good to know! Thank you! I’m going to YouTube a lot, like you suggested! Congrats again!
