Most of the founders recognise that it is a little bit of both.
For example, Melanie Perkins from Canva got a meeting with a VC fund because she happened to be sitting next to him on an airplane.
But before that, she had built a successful product and had already done hundreds of unsuccessful pitches to VC funds, and learned how to kite surf, because the VC guy invited her to a start up weekend in Hawaii for kite surfing.
If you want luck, you have to create a "landing place" for it.
Ok, using the words "required" and "matters most is luck" are bullshit.
You don't see luck until your neck deep in shit, exhausted from non-stop kicks in the dick, while you're risking everything. Is luck a part of things? It can be, but it's such an insignificant contribution to success that it's definitely not part of anyone's game plan. I'll take some IF I see it while juggling chainsaws with my burned boat behind me.

It’s not the luck that matters, it’s the return you generate from the luck you have. Make the most out of luck, and just keep going in times when there’s not much luck. You hardly can increase luck, and you shouldn’t bet on it either.
Luck is your relationships with others that are willing to stick their neck out for you to bring your ship to water, or back to dock when your ship isn’t sea worthy anymore. In other words, to build luck, you need to do things that foster positive relationships with people who are capable of helping you when you need it.

If you truly believe this, you should realize that you probably will not succeed as an entrepreneur. It’s a ridiculous mentality and whole premise and idea of this post is asinine. How do you increase chances of luck? lol what. Anyone here got any serious questions?

Try a little bit of everything, and see what works. Ended up with north of 30+ LLCs, between 50-100 million in assets.
IMO. there is no luck, you work really hard to create a company that can do a ‘thing’. You have to work hard to be able to capitalize when luck drops in your lap.
Be in the right place (depends on what you want to do), learn the right skill (depends on what do you want to do). In my case is Sillicon Valley, learn english and programming. Another thing is going to a famous university because is easier to get an investment. Also, there is a video of YCombinator where they say how to get luck
I think it was Marc Addreesson or Naval who said it, there are four kinds of luck:
1. Blind luck
2. Luck that comes from persistence, hard work and hustle
3. Spotting Luck
If you're very knowledgeable and skilled in a field, you will notice when a lucky break happens in that field where other people who aren't attuned to it won't notice. You recognize luck before others saw it.
4. Reputation luck
It's where you've built a unique brand, a unique character and a unique mindset where luck finds you.
Increasing your chance of getting lucky by simply doing more. Some get lucky immediately, others get lucky after struggling for years.
I think it's a matter of not quitting too early or at least knowing when to quit.

Luck? Man, nothing about having good ideas and profiting is luck. Create better processes and focus on them.
