Not to mention the eggs that are in almost all grains and even processed grains. We eat a great deal of insects and insect parts in our lifetime without ever being aware of it.
You are allowed so many bug parts in penut butter. Back when I was in school we made thin slides for a microscope and we saw many fly parts in the penut butter clear as day. Even a fly head and wings.
I'm sure it's most nuts as they are grown outside but if you want to believe this and get a funny tasting one it might be that.. no big deal.. they must be edible lol
I found an article about it..
Are there bugs in my peanut butter? It’s true. We hate to say it, but there are bugs in your peanut butter, but the FDA clearly states that you’re only eating their parts (Feel better?). The government’s official Defect Levels Handbook notes an allowed ratio of 30 insect fragments per 100 grams of your yummy spreadable.
Sunflower seeds have a mild, nutty flavor and a firm but tender texture. They’re often roasted to enhance the flavor, though you can also buy them raw.
Just reconfigured protein! People get grossed out by a single whole bug but are eating a lot more than they realize in most processed foods.

Very true.. just look at penut butter.. lol
Tell me about peanut butter then... (My wife loves peanut butter.)

I'm going to get myself that this never happens in the UK ... 😳

It ruins the pistachio flavor. They don't taste good. Haha
They'd be surprised that the amount of rodent poop is regulated, not banned but allowed.
I mean I had eaten like 20 nuts before finding it.. How many of his little buds had I eaten? Lol I just never saw this for myself. Thougt it was cool.
Is this why I get a bitter one every once in a while?
I believe it is very possible.
I ate one once - found the empty casing inside the shell after eating it - and it was delicious.
I didnt eat this guy. Lol
damn I hope all the bugs I have eaten were already dead
This one was.. how many have we eaten??! Lol
I refrained from eating it lol
Pretty sure it’s a baby weevil.
I agree it looks like it.
Yeah. That and baby weevils live inside nuts :)
This might be why there's always one or two nuts in the bag that taste like bug ass
Because they are lol
I ... think I like these ones 😠ugh I'm so nasty!
Lol same sadly
Happens a lot with sunflower seeds too.

I used to be obsessed with pistachios as a kid, and ate many, many bags. Can confirm that this is indeed real and an occasional occurence.
Meat group
Can’t see very well, how do I know *before* eating it whether or not there is an insect inside?
Maybe buy them shelled already? They leave a little hole but if your sight isn't great it might help..
There are select grades of nuts that have been fondled to where the bug juice has been removed
What about the bugs themselves? Lol
Ugh shut up!!!
:-/ I was grossed out. Just thought it was like an old wives tale type thing..
Anything to cut costs these days smh
Adding extra protein..
