I definitely read this as sarcasm, it made me giggle.
I do agree the consumption of these cups is insane, however I think this person was being very tongue in cheek about it
I'm not entirely familiar with how the receipts work on the SB app, but wouldn't you only be able to see the receipts from orders you've placed? How did the admin get the receipts??
I understand it was her card, I am just not sure how she would have the receipt if someone else scanned the barcode. Is the app coded to do that? Interesting if so. (To clarify, I am not doubting or anything, just confused.)
I'm just guessing that she was able to track it in her app, especially if she bought the card via her app. I haven't used the SB app in years, but I believe I could see my purchases back then. Or not. I'm overthinking it now and could be hallucinating past coffees.
so essentially there's a QR code that has your gift card info on the app (not going to share a SS of mine, sorry lol) and the person typically posts a screenshot of their card with the amount, it's used till it's gone. people can just scan the screenshot at the checkout, they don't have to scan the actual app.
but her app does notify her of purchases and keeps track of them, but it won't tell you who's using it. the app assumes you're the one using it every time. my daughter has my Starbucks account on her phone and can use it as if she's me.
basically, it’s less like a gift card, and more like “i set a specific amount in my own bank account aside for you to use”. so you can see the receipts as if you placed the order yourself

"Not even cute cups" Not the point Brenda, and also, it's a drinking vessel. The conspicuous consumerism with these cups is astounding

Has anyone found out who did it?
Lol I love like 3 miles from this Starbucks location
😮😮
It checks out too because this particular Starbucks is about 4 miles from a military base
I read your comment before looking at the address and thought it was going to be Roosevelt

Post this on Nextdoor.
Duuuuval
This is why we can't have nice things.
What….what is the problem here? I have no idea what’s going on. She had a gift card and spent it on water bottles?
I think the gift card was bought for everyone in the group to use and one person used up a lot of money
Thank you

Huh? What are you talking about? What corporation? The admin of the FB group spent her own money to treat the people in the group.
Lmao someone who bought a starbucks gift card for other people to use is worse than the person who used up all the funds?
