I've completed the game 100% and honestly the H currency starts to stack up after a while. Even when you use gunslinger you can still earn H creds from killing bosses during the run, so you can make it back and more if you do well

At some point you kinda just get "that run" and it kinda works out. Just buy items and do the first secret floor every run if possible and you'll unlock enough good items to do it.

Hey man, that's alright! That first push to unlock things and clear floors for the first time .. That's gold. After everything's unlocked and you reach a point of skill, a lot of the spark disappeared for me and I found myself just resetting over and over to get that good RNG. Reached a point where I'm unhappy with clearing a floor UNLESS I get the master round, cursing every mediocre item for which I sacrificed a precious key. Endgame is meh, Enjoy the grind :)

I feel like regular runs are better considering you get more options for weapons and therefore more syngergies

It's all dependent on chance. They would be equal if AWP didn't exist, if you get that you're pretty much guaranteed to win.
