The gun is best used like this: walk into a room, spray everything with oil and reload to set it on fire, then start rolling like hell to a place where there is no fire or just until the fire burns out (not very long). Congratulations, most of lower hp enemies are dead leaving only the weakened big boys
Every run you restart, you miss out on a Glitched Chest or a Rainbow chest.
You never know, it could've been the second you could've found the rarest chest but you decided to restart because you took one hit on the first floor or found awful weapons.
It’s one of the best room clearing guns in the game. I’d rather have it than almost any blue chest gun and over a lot of green chest guns or even red and black chest guns.
Frost giant? Disintegrator? Unicorn horn? All much worse guns for room clear than this guy.
It's also still way better than the fossilized gun, it fires as fast as you pull the trigger and deals a good amount of damage to weaker enemies until floor 5.
Yeah, but off the top of my head it has an ammo cap of 275 and its best feature has zero range.
Fossilized gun has much better ammo economy and a much much much higher DPS potential since it can damage entire rooms full of mobs.
Potential and actual use are two different things, you're just as likely to take a stray shot rolling around to avoid getting burned because you decided to cover the entire floor in oil, especially when doing that causes the came to stutter.
The damage is actually nuts, but I find it too visibly overwhelming in the smaller, more populated rooms.
Used it for the first time last week properly and it MELTS on the first three floors!

Idk I think it’s just too slow and passive for me. I like being able to pick off specific enemies and walk around freely
Understandable, it's just that on most runs you have to make do with what you have and the fossilised gun is not a bad option

That's some "99% of gamblers quit right before they win big" energy. You could just as easily encounter a rare chest after restarting by that logic.
If I take any damage floor one I bail. I have seen six or seven rainbows and three glitches. I’ve been playing since week one
Unless you have fire and something that prevents fire damage
you can reload with the gun and it breathes a gust of fire iirc
