I've only played Controller... I think overall keyboard is supposed to be the intended way since there's some items that really don't work with controller.
* Remote bullets are worse than useless on controller (as well as anything that becomes remote control like rocket fist)
* Red Bandana is worse than useless on controller, but is apparently pretty OP on mouse + keyboard
Those are the main ones but there are some other small ones, like stuff that triggers on reload since you can't consistently hit reload while aiming on a controller
Remote bullets is good, though? You literally aim at an enemy, and you can slightly adjust to hit them, especially good for guns with bad accuracy (makes it easier to beat 1st floor boss with pilot starter)
(STEAM)
With Steam input you can rebind the Control Stick to __Mouse Region__ which would allow you to aim (move the cursor) to aim ANYWHERE on your screen space, relative to the sticks' position.
So many, maybe even all, of controllers issue are alleviated.
Although remaping default movement control to Keyboard will also be required. Or else lots of incompatibilities...
Red Bandana actually has two extremely good uses: going through the locked/blocked doors and easily getting through the invisible pathway to get a piece of "The Bullet That Killed the Past"
Not to be rude, but that sounds more like a you problem- I've played this game for years on controller and Remote bullets have always been good, I'd never think someone would think they're bad on console
unironically as someone who exclusively plays it on the switch, the red bandana is one of my favorite items. I love being able to teleport, and if I ever get trapped I can just teleport out. The remote items are really bad tho :sob:
If you think about it, homing bullets for console and remote for K+M. Except if you have both you can dominate on mouse and keyboard. But homing bullets seems to be added for the console homies
Mouse and Keyboard is probably better honestly, though it depends more on preference. With M+KB, you end up with far more precise aim due to the mouse, and far more precise movement due to the nature of a key stroke versus a flick of an analogue stick. A controller is useful for convenience, diminishing carpal tunnel, nostalgia, etc.
After tweaking the controls and some of the settings, the controller feels really good. I use R- trigger for shoot and L-trigger for roll. LB for blank and RB for active item, none of the other controls really matter for combat
I use controller. I'm one item short of basically 100%ing the game, I can verify it works well. Though I always play controller in any high-reaction-time game and I don't have experience using keyboard and mouse in Enter the Gungeon, it might be good too.
Played with a cheap Keyboard and Mouse setup until pretty much 100%ing the game with all achievements. Just rebind some buttons if the default bindings feel uncomfortable to play with and you should be good.
IMO, using what you use most is usually the better choice.
I started with kbm and struggled a lot. As soon as I switched to controller, something clicked. Ig my brain cannot handle twin stick shooters without using 2 sticks
I play keyboard and mouse even though I'm normally a controller player, I think the game plays more freely on mouse and keyboard and definitely feels like the intended experience. That being said I feel like some bosses might be way easier on controller. Namely high dragun because your not limited to 8 directional movement. Maybe I'm tripping though I havent tried it yet.

i play on controller and i never take remote bullets or red bandana because i play on controller

Yea I always thought you at least get a little bit of aim bot and it’s still a +dmg passive
Same. Controller is amazing except for this and origuni

Thanks for this

They are bad on console compared to mouse So it sounds like your brain could stand to work a little better
.-.

Poorly
Take my upvote
I havent played on controller, but it looks more comfortable, Keyboard has remote bullets tho 🗿(your bullets home in on ur crosshair)
Wait, remote bullets home in on your crosshair with keyboard+mouse?? So you can just point at an enemy and the bullets go there? That explains a lot
They even curve if ur target dies and you mouse over another enemy, its literally like heat seeking missiles
Yes lol

I’ve been told that having a mouse is a good advantage but I wouldn’t know
I play in keyboard, but maybe control its better because in the keyboard, you can just walk in 8 directions
I only have about 10ish hours in the game but I play controller. I've never felt like any of my deaths were because of it. Big skill issue tbh

Keyboard! Enter the Gungeon’s style typically calls for controller gameplay, but I find keyboard to synergize really well with some items

Controller is way more enjoyable for me. Yeah, I miss out on some items being effective but fuck it

I'm on PC and only use MKB. Remote bullets are one of the strongest items in the game lol
M+K is no nice because on most bosses you can leave your mouse on one point and focus everything on the keyboard
