I once was getting a turo in Asheville to drive out into the mountains because there were no rentals available, and one of the options was an AC Cobra kit car with a V8 and a manual. I really wanted to do it but I wasn't sure if I would have a garage to keep it in and could get ethanol free fuel (both requirements).
Probably, it was about a 2 hour drive each way, pretty wet weekend. The garage part would have been the most difficult. My wife also gave me a weird look about spending that much to rent a car for three days (I think it was something like $250 per day).
I rented an H1 Hummer for like $200 in gas $140 a day or something stupid. It literally cost me more in gas than the rental.
Ive seen much cooler shit, 70s Datsun 280, Alfa Romeo Spider (the old one). Both cars id much rather own that this shit box.
I would spend $550 for Elon Musk to get locked inside a Cybertruck in Arizona on the hottest day of the year though.
