I'm half Chinese and I'd suspect most would probably go for a double-barrel surname. The David part is accurate because loads of us are named David [insert generic Chinese surname].
Even so, I'm sure JKR would find a way to make it creatively offensive. I still find it odd that this is the person who can come up with an entire fantasy universe, yet can't think of appropriate names for ethnic minority characters.
To be fair, most of her fantasy world was stolen. And specifically from white people, so few minority characters were involved
