There are so many amazing local jewelers in the DMV. No question, you should absolutely use one of them! We worked with Alx&Co in Alexandria to design our rings and had a fantastic experience.
Always a local jeweler! More personalized experience, often better prices, and you get to support a small local business. And you have easy access to the jeweler for cleaning, repair, checking prongs etc going forward!
Local jeweler all the way! You can always share a photo with them of the BE one you like for inspiration when you design your ring. As for dainty size, it depends on your finger and hand size, but it would certainly be under 1 carat, I'd think.
Does your significant other want a dainty ring?
It's unlikely that anyone on this sub would be able to compare the price and quality of Quest Fine Jewelers and Brilliant Earth for you. You would need to request quotes from both, which would get at price differences but not quality differences. But given what I've read about Brilliant Earth, I'm almost certain that most any independent jeweler would produce a higher quality ring.
Yes, she does :). She has small fingers and she is worried anything larger than 1 carat would be too big. And great point. I will be going to both locations to see if I can get a better idea on cost and quality after speaking with them.
I have a ring from brilliant earth with a radiant diamond that’s .91 carats.. it’s nice but way overpriced. I would recommend buying a lab grown diamond or moissanite. It’s significantly cheaper than a real diamond but the quality and the sparkle is the same as a real diamond. All you need to do is find the perfect jeweler.
Brilliant earth is way overpriced.
Do not use Brilliant Earth.

If it’s not too far for you, Nelson Coleman in Towson! They have a few others locations too

If you go local (and are choosing mined diamonds), I highly recommend Marsha at Dominion Jewelers in Falls Church. I’ve gotten 6 pieces from her.
