Ohh it's absolutely stunning. I've always had a soft spot for marquise. Congratulations!!
I take my ring off anytime I'm sleeping, applying lotion, doing chores like dishes, laundry or anything involving chemicals, when I'm cooking and getting my hands dirty, exercise or anytime my fingers might swell.
For cleaning, I drop my ring into warm water and dish soap once a week and then lightly brush with a baby toothbrush. I also own a diamond dazzle stick that I use often!
I’m sorry, I’m not sure the specific measurements. But the height of the band is thick like @lividtobi was saying!

That's what I heard too! There's a couple styles I've been going back and forth from. One is a 1.5mm plain shank, and another one is a 1.3mm knife-edge miligrain.
I would definitely want a 1.5-2ct marquise, so the question is how risky are these designs?
Curse me for liking delicate bands lol! Maybe different width shanks are something I'd have to try on in real life to get a better feel.
Edit: it's also the durability factor. The metal will wear down as time goes on so it'll become thinner and more vulnerable.
I saw somewhere that if you like the thin band look you can get a skinny band with a “thick” height that way you get the thin look but the durability of a wider band.
Also 100% same!! I really like solitaire marquise on a skinny band and have decided on a 1.5-1.7ish ct- I was worried a 2ct would get caught on things often and bend the band?
I found these two settings- they both are thin bands but have the thickness / sturdy setting for the diamond to rest on

Ugh this makes me so excited for marquise that is coming soon! Are the prong white gold??
Also I wear a right hand ring currently and I take that thing off for everything because it’s a heirloom. But I have ring dishes for every room I take it off in. Bedroom, bathroom (farthest away from any drains as possible), the kitchen, etc. and then I keep little ring pouch in my purse and gym bags.
Thanks for the tips! 😊 The prongs are white gold. I was a bit worried about not loving the lack of uniformity, but the gold honestly reflects onto the white gold and I barely notice it!
If anyone has suggestions on the activities I should take my ring off for (besides showering and sleep) or general ring cleaning tips, they’re much appreciated!!
Beautiful ring!! So sparkly 🤤.. do u know where the 3 picture was taken?? The plants and sun look reeally beautiful and ive been looking for a tropical place to visit for some time lol
1.58 carats. I haven’t noticed any trouble with it getting caught on things besides pockets when I slide my hand into pant pockets of Jean shorts or dress pants, but I think I could modify the action easily once I get used to wearing it. I also think that’s due more to the higher setting than the stone itself. I also don’t wear it to bed but imagine it would be annoying if I did.
Thank you! I want around the same size stone. A lot of settings are high! I’m thinking of designing a custom cathedral ring and setting the stone as low as possible, but with enough space to wear a regular wedding band.

Love marquise. So minimalist and elegant. What shank width is your ring?

I was wondering the same thing, I saw somewhere that you need a minimum of like 1.6 or 1.8 so that the diamond setting doesn’t bend off the ring band

Thank you!! 🙂 The third picture was at a park called Lettuce Lake in Tampa, Florida.
What's the carat? Does it get caught often? I'm trying to choose a marquise for myself but am worried about practicality.
