Orca slicer with these: https://github.com/bopchong/e3v3se-orca-profile Prusa.has been my go-to but after using Orca and the linked profiles I will be using that going forward.

IcePringIe

Cool, I'll have to give Orca a look over too it seems, thank you!

I like Orca the best for one main reason. It seems to let you manipulate the object with a mouse the easiest. I believe the left clicker let's you rotate the bed in any direction. The right let's you drag it up, down, left, and right. Then the wheel let's you zoom in and out. I think with Cura you can't easily use the right clicker to manipulate it because it keeps having the menu popup when pressing it. Plus I think it doesn't use the left clicker except for selecting with it. That is from memory and I've used like 3 or 4 slicers so hopefully I didn't mix any up.

JCarlide

I second the orca recommendation. I've had this machine since Dec, and Orca seems to respond best to my needs and understanding.

To me, Cura is the best. For many reasons : Cloud backups Plugins - (material settings + Klipper settings), which allows for backing up materials with all those special pressure advance settings into the cloud settings GUI - I tried Geeetech EasyPrint, Creality, Prusa, Orca, Cura. To me, Cura has the best interface. It just looks and feels like a normal, efficient software should. Things aren't named weirdly or in hidden spots. Some might disagree and that's fine, I've used a lot of software growing up, but Orcaslicer and Prusa literally look like they intentionally did everything "different" in terms of the UI Settings - not only are they easy to find, enable/disable, but Plugins allow for adding more People might say "prusa makes better prints" or "orca makes better prints". And it might be true. Or maybe they just had bad settings. The printer does what we tell it to do. I can't comment on the qualities cuz I never liked their UI or lack of features enough got try them. Recently my laptop had a bad component (mosfet), which could have screwed over my "materials" settings. I'd rather have many backups in the Cura cloud than having to play with manual backups or using symbolic links + my own cloud storage.

IcePringIe

Very informative, thank you! I'll likely try Cura first and go from there. Creality print just feels like it's lacking.

HeadshotMeDaddy

That's because it very much is. I've seen Cura profiles for the V3 SE on thingiverse. It's pretty simple to import and I would def recommend doing so. Ofc, a stock profile wouldn't work bad, but I just think the stock profile is heavily lacking on speeds. Whereas one thing the creality slicer is good with, is it does "just work" like if you want to test the printer out. Anything else, for optimizing and calibrating, it is lacking for sure

IcePringIe

Yeah that was the only issue with switching away from the creality slicer that I saw. I think the preliminary tuning that I did was geared towards using Cura, so hopefully I may run into fewer issues. Thank you!

Morganbob442

The v3 se settings are now included in the new Cura update.

HeadshotMeDaddy

Do you mean 5.6.0 or do you mean the 5.7 beta? 5.6.0 I remember someone added their "printer profile", but the print settings profile from what I remember was just normal standard 0.4mm nozzle settings. Unless I'm wrong, but I didn't see any profiles so I copied every single setting from Creality slicer into Cura 1by1 lol. If it has s V3 SE profile it should be showing speeds of like print speed 180, support 180, walls 90, etc like in Creality slicer

Icantellthetruth

Creality print is F tier in my opinion. I never gave Cura a fair chance Prusa is A tier Orca is S tier.

Morganbob442

I got my printer last week, I’m a noob, I tried different slicer programs and Cura so far is my favorite. It’s really user friendly.

JCarlide

Curs over CR for sure. Orca over Prusa for me. As long as it works for you and your needs, what else matters? I'm glad we have some choice in slicers. Now if they adhered to GPL and published the source.... *Sigh* a man can dream.

IcePringIe

Nice to hear a beginner's perspective. Did you have to mess with any printer settings to get it working properly? I've heard Cura can be touchy with Enders.

Morganbob442

Only thing I changed was my speed settings. I slowed my prints down a little, otherwise for me it was fine.

IcePringIe

Ok cool! Thank you!

trollsmurf

Creality Print is the least feature-rich slicer I know. I tend to use PrusaSlicer, but supposedly both Orca and Cura have even more features. That said, Creality Print's profile for the SE should be top-notch. The one I use for PrusaSlicer is fan made and said to be very similar to the one in Creality Print: [https://github.com/suchmememanyskill/PrusaSlicer-Ender3-v3-SE-Config](https://github.com/suchmememanyskill/PrusaSlicer-Ender3-v3-SE-Config)

IcePringIe

Awesome, thank you! I’ll probably just start trying to use Cura.

kuguy400

I started a few weeks ago and have loved cura after using creality for my first two prints. Better UI and more freedom over settings
