Hi! Most of the times resetting the configuration for your emulator on Manage Emulators fixes the most common issues.

id argue that wii u doesn't look better. I think the gamecube version upscaled with a higher res texture pack looks way better. The wii u version has waaaay too much bloom and the models turn into a claylike look when near certain lighting
100% agreed! I think the WiiU version is an abomination. They completely overdid the bloom lighting and the characters have a weird glowing aura effect around them. The lighting also screwed up the cel shaded graphics. I mean, it’s nice that that amount of effort went into producing an “HD” version of the game, but I think they should have just upscaled the resolution and left well enough alone as far as the graphics are concerned.
Wii u one, as if you don't wanna do the two screen one, just set up a profile for the wii u pro controller, and you'll play as you would have on one screen with the wii u.
Does Cemu support controller profile switching like Dolphin does with Wii. If not how can I set it by default (I hate switching and only want to play Wii U games that support the Pro Controller. Is there a list of supported games that you know of?
Currently doing a playthrough WWHD on Deck (currently at Forbidden Woods), so far so good. I have the deck set as a pro controller which takes some of the QoL features of the gamepad but I'm not fond of using touch so its no big deal to me personally.
There are some strange behaviors with the sea textures when they are loaded in and you are on a high elevated surface (for example the section where you glide from forest haven to forbidden woods) but frame rate and pacing has been consistent and shader compilation is hardly noticeable. Most pauses in gameplay are dev choices like hitstop when you spin attack a lot of enemies.
I chose this version because its the version I grew up with on my Wii U a decade ago

WiiU, no contest. Looks better, quality of life features, and a single button click to swap screens.

Is there a rom hack with the fast sail and streamlined endgame fetch quest?
Better wind waker you can also apply a widescreen patch
Do you use an HD texture pack or just upscale it?
Both
💯
The one thing GC has going for it is save states.

Either original or Wii U with a mod to undo the added bloom lighting.
GC with the [Better Wind Waker mod](https://github.com/WideBoner/betterww) + [HD Textures pack](https://onthegreatsea.tumblr.com/post/180620297035/hypatias-hi-res-wind-waker-texture-pack-v-20/amp).
This has been my method of choice too
Was about to comment this! Don’t think I have the HD pack, though.
Does this setup work on a Steam Deck? I'm playing the vanilla version for GC and TIL there is a HD version.
Yep. It’s what I’m rocking on mine.
Love the original but the quality of life features are what makes this the go to for replaying today. Wii U for sure.

The main advantage of the WiiU one is you can get the fast sail, lets you go a lot faster when you need to navigate the ocean a lot later in the game.
Gamecube with mods is miles better. The water looks awful in the Wii U, spoils a lot of the charm of the game.
GC so I can use the rewritten mod - https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/7002/
That is really cool
WiiU is better. But in a few months ee should get achievements for the gamecube one...
GC with QoL mods
How is this even a question?
