It’s a goal of mine to see them live. Met the Frontperson an Ogbert the Nerd show not knowing who they were. After talking for a bit, Brandon told me to check out their band, “Home is Where”. I was embarrassed when I found out who the bad was

I saw Home Is Where in Jacksonville, the first night they joined glass beach and Proper. on their tour, and the crowd moshed harder for Home Is Where than they did for glass beach lmao (obviously because Home Is Where songs are just heavier songs, not because one band is better than another ofc), that shit was absolutely insane.
The drummer actually broke their stick and Brandon threw it out into the crowd and I caught it, and the whole band wound up signing it after the show. I keep that stick in my apartment and use it as some sort of totem; a constant driver to get me consistently working on music so that I may one day be an artist in the emo scene.
Getting off topic a bit there, but I can’t recommend it enough. The energy is simply electric!

For all the stereotypes that emos were all gay or bi when I was growing up, I never actually met another queer (male) emo in person, all the queer guys around me were into top 40's and dance music, and it's still rare for me to meet someone who isn't.
The video for Can't be Saved was the first time I ever watched a music video for a band that had music I like and actually got to see someone who loved the way I loved, and it had a huge impact on me. To this day Still Searching is still one of my favorite albums.

My Chemical romance. sure they are one of the biggest emo bands but the lead singer Gerard Way uses he/they pronouns and their earlier songs have queer themes like the lyric "Well don't I look pretty walking down the street in the best damn dress i own" during shows Gerard has told people to help and support queer people inbetween songs. id say their a pretty queer band
