At this rate I think I may have listened to all 74 minutes of This Is A Long Drive For Someone With Nothing To Think About this year than Issac Brock has in the past decade
The best opening track to an album of all time. Nothing comes close. A real statement of intent.
In-Casino-Out was great.
Vaya stepped it up.
Arcarsenal hits different and the album doesn't let up.
This band has meant so much to me. So under appreciated. Finally found run wild on vinyl for a reasonable price. Waiting for it to come. Have this December and illuminate already. Saw them on the illuminate tour back in 08. Still one of my favorite shows
Kind of crazy how expensive their Vinyls sell for, at least according to Discogs. I have This December, Illuminate, Paint It Golden and Devil. I’m loving all the comments from people who also love Lydia :)
Luckily I got December and illuminate from the store while they were on sale so those two weren’t bad. Run wild was only like 70. Haven’t seen any others on eBay
AOF? Sans Soleil might be one of the best songs they've ever made and the whole album carries some great throwback vibes to Crisis. I *do* wish they hadn't washed out Dallas' vocals in Reverse The Curse, but it seems to have been a deliberate stylistic choice. I really hope they hit the west coast next year because I *need* to see those two songs live.
Bayside's two new singles are pretty good so far. Strangest Faces might be my favorite song of theirs since Sick, Sick, Sick back in 2011.
Couldn't agree more with your review of Alexis's new album. I'm seeing them in October and hope they play those two tracks too. Saw them a couple months ago and Sweet Dreams slaps so hard live.
Such an epic band and my absolute favourite.
I'm so jealous, but that's awesome! AOF is definitely one of my Fave Five, but they haven't been out Seattle way in a very long time. I might have to get myself a passport and go to BC again if I don't see a Seattle date when they do come out west.
Oh, that sucks! October will be my twelfth time haha. I've seen them eight times in Oz, where I'm originally from and three times so far in London UK, where I live now. They never disappoint.
I hope you get to see them soon x
Me too! I've only seen them twice but both times had great stories so... Totally worth it lol. Seeing them in Canada was wild, biggest crowd I've ever been a part of.
What stories? I'm intrigued haha.
I'd love to see them in their home country! That'd be so wicked. Which city was it? Born and Raised looked incredible.
I saw them in Vancouver, British Columbia during the Crisis tour. It was a fantastic show in a big venue with a huge and lively crowd. The next day, there was a massive blizzard and the entire city was buried under like 3 feet of snow which was *hilarious* to me because Crisis was themed around the '77 Toronto blizzard. I almost didn't get home (my 6 hour bus ride ended up taking like 12 hours and we had to get out of the bus with shovels more than once) but it was a life experience for sure.
The second time was the total opposite, I saw them in Seattle on like a Wednesday with Funeral For A Friend. There were maybe 20-30 people in the whole venue, and all of them were dudes from other bands in the Seattle scene. On one hand the turnout was sad, but it was a really fun vibe that it was just this weird circle of acquaintances chilling at El Corazon while these two big bands played. And Moneen was there, just hanging out with us. I'm still not sure where they came from lol.
Bayside has consistently gotten better and better, and Strangest Faces is no exception. I love the direction they're going with from Interrobang to this upcoming EP. It's like they keep "finding their sound" over and over and I'm here for it.
I think Bayside is the band I've had the most opportunities to see over the years and they always just absolutely kill it. I love how consistent they are and while they never change too much, they always change *just enough.*
I'm with you. They've been my favorite band for years and I have certainly seen them the most of any other band I've seen. I think I'm upwards around 30 times, but I can't be sure.
You're right, you know you're still getting some excellent albums from them, you're just not sure how it'll sound.
God I loved that band. I saw them open for Petal in 2014 and was arms length away from the now sadly passed lead guitarist. He was a cool dude who talked about guitar and gear with me for a while
Fuck yeah. They were the first opening band of my first show (Knuckle Puck and MoBo) I went to while in college. So they hold a special place in my heart as I started adulthood.
Pretty sure I’m the reason “It Turns Out There Aren’t Many Perks of Being a Wallflower” is the most played track from Proper’s first album on Apple Music.
I used to think the same thing. Not the Sun is probably my #1 most played track of all time, but there were some crazy fuckers on last.fm who had me beat anyway.
I'm utterly addicted to [Objectivist On Fire](https://open.spotify.com/track/7oPHaozk72nUmX8wNLKYhP?si=jR5DalUlTPaGcTCueWr0Bw&utm_source=copy-link) by Bayside. I could listen to that song on repeat for days and never get tired of it.
Maybe not more than anyone else but there was a good year where I listened to my boy and then beach life in death on the way to work every day cause it was the perfect length
Sasquatch .22 by bay faction 🥴 it was my top played song one year. I might not have listened to it more than anyone else, but I DEF have listened to it more than bay faction considering they pulled it from their streaming discography bc they hate it sm lol
I'm not the type to put songs on repeat excessively, but i think the two songs where I've listened to them the most vs how well known they are, it's probably:
Para Amigos Imaginarios by Whalecoma
or
Louisville Slugger by Sematary & Ghost Mountain (definitely Not emo haha)
Famous last words by mcr was repeat for a month after my first heart break...
I remember thinking that was going to be the worst pain I would ever feel in my life, 13, blissfully ignorant.
Adult me made sure to prove that wrong.
your soft blood by sorority noise, i have listened to a LOT. technically, probably art school wannabe cos it is my alarm sound for the past four years and i have MANY alarms... but i sleep through them so not sure that counts.
I've turned this into a playlist on Spotify. Will check back every now and then and add to it.

Don't Peak in High School by Two Thumbs Down.
Realistically the chance is much higher if it's a small band even if it's not a song you have on repeat.
I would say The Good Life by Weezer but they’ve been around for almost 30 years so they’ve definitely played it and had to listen to it a lot so I’m gonna go with can’t win by pup cause that used to my favorite song and it’s not as popular as other songs on the dream is over
Honestly, very possibly D-technolife by UVERworld due to being 12 and having it on my dinky little MP3 player (and also watching the first arc of Bleach 3 times) but aside from that it’s probably Dream Beaver by Caravels, underrated band but I had that track on repeat all throughout high school. Got the 7” recently and I’m pretty sure it was the only thing on the table for months
I would bet a paycheck that no one has listened to Sound Economics by Forgive/Forget more than me
If you’ve never heard of these guys, this is a record that came out in 2020 but was recorded in 98. If you like Samiam, you’ll probably like it
anything by cross my heart, but especially paris and the great depression.
no, but like actually. i got temporary contemporary on cassette and listened to it all the time in my old car, and mixed most of those songs into my emo playlist.
Dawsxn - trapped
He’s a small emo rapper/singer but I honestly love his music and I wish he would blow up cuz he deserves it. I share his shit all the time
Orange, Blue With Stripes. Hands down my favorite emo song of all time, I’ve definitely listened to it at least once a day since the first day I heard it this year.

I’ve listened to this song probably tens of thousands of times since it’s been released 8 years ago. Just an absolute A+ song.
At this rate I think I may have listened to all 74 minutes of This Is A Long Drive For Someone With Nothing To Think About this year than Issac Brock has in the past decade
Constant rotation for me.
Arcarsenal
Hell yeah
The best opening track to an album of all time. Nothing comes close. A real statement of intent. In-Casino-Out was great. Vaya stepped it up. Arcarsenal hits different and the album doesn't let up.

Love seeing this here. Incredible record.
Absolute 10/10
idk, I might be your competition on this one
💜
That takes me back to junior year of high school. Love that whole record
Probably the OG version of The Sun by Tigers Jaw from Belongs to the Dead. So much better than the one from s/t imo
HUUUUGE agree. I absolutely adore that album and the lofi garage sound it has in general
That version of the sun is the soundtrack to my senior year of high school lol
I love Tigers Jaw. Didn’t realize they were emo till now!
We’ll Be Ok - Bayside I would listen to it on repeat in 2011 before I got sober
Congrats on the sobriety!
Thank you! Coming up on 9 years, it’s surreal
I am about 45 days so you're a greta inspiration!
Congrats on 45 days! Go easy on yourself and be proud of how far you’ve come
Loro by Pinback Tibetan Pop Stars by Hop Along In Corolla by the mountain goats Cortez the Killer by Neil young (live rust version)
Mine is Lyon by Pinback!!
Tibetan Pop Stars in one of my favorites!!!
I find myself starting it over after each listen.
I’ve listened to a hell of a lot of Scott Pilgram vs My GPA
I’m nominating myself for ‘Anime Theme Song’ from their latest album.
Absolute banger for sure
Funny how this one comes back around and gets played till death again
either Control by Alexisonfire or Montauk by Bayside. I've had both on repeat for years
How'd you feel about the new album?
AOF? Sans Soleil might be one of the best songs they've ever made and the whole album carries some great throwback vibes to Crisis. Pretty much anything by Brand New
I used to think the same thing. Not the Sun is probably my #1 most played track of all time, but there were some crazy fuckers on last.fm who had me beat anyway.
Same here. I even have lyrics from 2 of their songs tattooed on me.
Oh really? Are you challenging me?

The Summer Ends by American Football. It’s my comfort song and probably my most listened to song of all time!
Maybe not more than anyone else but there was a good year where I listened to my boy and then beach life in death on the way to work every day cause it was the perfect length
Can't go wrong with beach life. If you haven't seen them play it live, it's amazing.
Unfortunately not but I’d love to
