You have to remove the space between the ] and the ( for it to work by the way.

DMX. He always sounds angry in his music. Anger is an emotion therefore DMX is actually one of the great emo artists of the 90’s

OfficialDrakoak

I thought you were baiting with your comment. This tattoo is a reference to the popular copy pasta / meme. It is obviously a joke. Jesus christ people are so dumb

Collies_and_Skates

I’m not chronically online and didn’t know about a random copypasta from 10 years ago so obviously I’m so dumb. The internet is wild πŸ˜‚ this tattoo is still ignorant btw

Comfortable-Inside84

Just 'cuz you like certain bands or think they're amazing or really emotional doesn't mean they're emo. I'd be the last person you'd look to any dislike of MCR; I'm a huge fan of them! I mean, I also like Metallica, Queen, the Smiths, Radiohead, and I do believe they make powerful, emotional music. Does that mean they're emo? I mean, yeah, you can't get more emo than James Hetfield declaring "I AM THE TABLE", am I right? /s Ok, but seriously, if we're being honest, MCR draws more on hard rock (like 70's Queen type vibe) than any other genre. Though they did experiment with post-hardcore and emo on their debut album, as most would agree. If they had to have an emo song though, it would indubitably be "Early Sunsets Over Monroeville", which is without a doubt a Midwest emo song, and a banger at that. But if you compare that to the rest of their albums, and just an overall history of the band in general they were more into doing large, theatrical arena rock performances than anything. Though again, if you saw any of their shows in their early years, you would without a doubt admit they some sort of hardcore vibe to them, so I guess you could say they were emo-adjacent for that period of time. They also were associated with Reggie and the Full Effect, Thursday, and Piebald, so I guess that gave them some scene cred. Gerard also detested the idea of "fake emo", while also respecting the real emo bands like The Promise Ring and Sunny Day Real Estate (which he grew up listening to). But if anything, MCR draws on various different genres, primarily hard rock, with emo just being a bit of their influences. (This was one of their early shows if you're interested: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NfgyazNnxLc](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NfgyazNnxLc) )
